Ever since its debut, Lucario has been one of the more popular Pokémon. The reasons for this are numerous; amazing aura powers, excellence in battle, awesome design, and the list goes on.  Of course, there are plenty of cool facts surrounding the Steel/Fighting type, and this article will focus on a random ten.

*Note, these facts are placed in alphabetical order only, nothing more*

Anubis. Anubis is the ancient Egyptian god of funerals. In mythology, he would press judgement on the hearts of departed souls, their doings in life as basis. It also happens that said god had the head of a jackel and Lucario is very well assumed to be inspired from this figure. The writer(s) at Bulbapedia traced an interesting connection between Anubis’ role and Lucario’s ability to read aura, further drawing the link.

Aura. Really, who doesn’t think this ability is awesome? It allows Lucario to read other’s thoughts and predict their movements. Feelings can also be sensed by this power, this feature having an impressive over half a mile radius. Aura may be used in place of eye-sight, as seen in the movie “Lucario and the Mystery of Mew”. And hey, can’t forget to mention that this force has offensive capabilities as well. The move “Aura Sphere” demonstrates the point well, as does Lucario’s attacks in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Aura Storm. Lucario’s inclusion in “Super Smash Bros. Brawl” was and still is a controversial topic among fans, which is why Brawl is not on the list. However, it’s Final Smash (the strongest attack a character can use) cannot be denied a spot. During this attack, Lucario jumps into the air, charges a wicked blast of glowing aura and, using a beam, reigns chaos onto the field. Yes, it looks as epic as it sounds!

Costume. That’s right; in “Pokémon Battle Revolution” a trainer wearing an awesome Lucario costume was introduced. However, this isn’t your ordinary cannon fodder; Dusty is the eighth Colosseum Leader and can be a challenge. Defeating his Sunset Coliseum at with the “Level 50 All” rule will earn you a copy of his amazing threads. Wear them with pride and style!

Guardian. In the Ranger game “Shadows of Almia”, Lucario is put in a special trio, where it is noted for being the only non-legend. Limiting the spoilers, it will only be said that the Aura Pokémon puts up a good fight, so be prepared!

Lucario Rank. In the first Mystery Dungeon game, Lucario is viewed as one of the best rescue leaders of all time. Even Alakazam, who is a respected leader in his own right, wishes to come closer to the Aura Pokémon’s level of greatness. Heck, the highest possible rank in the game is named Lucario Rank, and is achieved by reaching 15 000 Rescue Points. Unfortunately, this revered figure is never met in game, and thus, was unable to show off any of their skills first hand.

Movie. Despite its status as a non-legendary Pokémon, Lucario is the star of its own film, “Lucario and the Mystery of Mew”. No spoilers will be given, of course, but it is worth checking out, especially for fans of this Steel/Fighting type. In fact, this movie had many fans convinced that Lucario was a legendary, although these rumours were (as you probably already know) proven wrong later on.

Resistance. Although it’s typing may leave Lucario vulnerable to Fighting, Fire and Ground attacks, being Fighting (weird that it’s weak to its primary type)/Steel, grants this Pokémon many a resistance. Officially, the total is eight and consists of Bug, Dark, Dragon, Ghost, Grass, Ice, Rock and Steel. Many of these are common, so the advantage is of great aide. Of course, Lucario is also immune to Poison, granting the total of resisted types to nine out of 16.

Now, I know it was previously stated that this list would be a 10 Cool Facts about Lucario. However, this was a lie, there will only be eight, despite many points not having been explored. Why? Well, poor Riolu hasn’t gotten a single mention so far, which is unfair. It is also a cool Pokémon and deserves to have some facts listed as well. Therefore, the final two remaining will be in honour of this pre-evolution!

Stamina. This may seem weird, but it is completely justified. Riolu have the ability to climb three mountains and cross the whole canyons in a single moon, as states the Pokédex, which is incredible. Additionally, this gizmo also informs us that this Pokémon is capable of enduring running a WHOLE NIGHT! Stamina of legend right there folks!

Starter. Riolu has the credit of becoming a starter Pokémon as of “Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky”. This also means it can be selected as your partner, should another candidate see usage.

That just about raps things up! What points would you have added? Which is your favourite? Drop us a reply with your answer(s)!
