Sounds like the anime is following the story back in the D/P/Pt series.

What if they just decided to have Galactic win...?

They get the three lake legends.
They get Palkia nd Dialga.
They get Arceus.
Ketchum gets gutted on air.
Cyrus laughs and points.

I like this storyline a lot better.

This episode and follow-up was rather disappointing. Sure a flamethrowing Skuntank was kinda cool but otherwise, meh. For some reason I have grown a liking into Palkia's screech. I don't know why though.
