Does anyone here at pe2k? I do, but I still use Windows as my main OS. If anyone wants to try linux for the first time with an HD install, I recommend Ubuntu Linux.... simple and easy to use.... www.ubuntulinux.org

I have been thinking about trying it out. I just might at some point soon...

I'm glad there are some good games out there for Linux. The Linux version of Quake III being one of them.

Dont forget,

There is Cedega/Point2Play available from TransGaming. I personally havent tried it out, but it does cost to get it. It is basically WINE with an almost complete DirectX implementation.

As far as window managers in linux, I'd recommend to you Gnome or KDE. They are both superior to the others. The only problem is that they are resource hogs! If your PC is one of the slower/low mem types, go with XFCE4, It is great and FAST!!! I personally use Gnome, as it is default on Ubuntu. I like it over KDE though.
