I thought i'd go train at Mt. Silver, i didn't buy Full restores or Revives as i used them all on the PKMN Elite...
My team is lvl 56-66.
I got to the LAST POKEMON that Red has (Charizard) With a low level team and no hp/status healers.

(I died on the charizard as the Tyanitar had 40HP and Went 2nd).

Lucky?
I Doubt i will be able to do it again, but still.
any body else found Red easy?

My team was:
Lucario - Lv 59
Latias - Lv 59
Darkrai - Lv 59
Feraligatr - Lvl 56
Infernape - Lv 67
Tyranitar -Lvl 59

He is very easy.

What is the big hype with him? I could take them out with one pokemon- lvl 89 Typhlosion.

Well that's a good reason.

Anyway, owned wasn't the right word, I got to his last Pokemon with Mewtwo.

I use blast burn to take out a poke, then eruption, then flamethrower.

He actually didnt get a hit on me at all.

Im not using any cheats either, I am just a good trainer...

No it was not sarcastic. Or at least it wasn't meant to be.

And yes, it is very hard to beat him with one Pokemon. Even though that one Pokemon owned me in Pokemon Stadium 1. >.>

But honestly, I have to say Red is easy. Have you seen Mewtwo and/or the Cooltrainer with Mew on Pokemon Stadium 1? Those are hard... unless you freeze them.

Like every other trainer in the game, Red is easy if your level is high enough :P.

well red was really easy for me just finished him off badly if i could record it i would but i cant.

He is tough if you lack the ability to use strategy. Computers don't think, they just hit type advantages. If you can effectively shut his pokemon down before he can beat you with status problems and entry hazards, you can win without a problem.

He was only easy for me because I have Lvl. 100's traded from my Platnium, i wonder how easy he'll be if i use my original SS team. (Mostly high 60's) I remember he was a pain to figh in the original Silver/Gold/Crystal games.

he was easy. i thought he would be harder but i beat him with lv 60s

He was a tough cookie. I had to keep using Lugia lv.59 on his fire-types, Ho-oh lv.73/Typhlosion lv.59 on his grass, Event Arceus lv. 100 for Blastoise and Lapras, and I kept Fearow and Snorlax in. (LV. 23 Fearow, eek.)

HE WAS WHIPPED.

Yeah he's easy when you use pokemon traded over from your other games. If you want a real challenge, face him with the pokemon you've had from the beginning. Here's mine:

Feraligatr
Dunsparce
Lanturn
Yanmega
Dragonite
Houndoom(only one I traded over, but I didn't start training it until I got it over to HG. Really it was stupid that you couldn't get it before the E4 and I really don't know why I'm telling you this)
All was between 68-72.

Only reason why I would was that lanturn walled most of his team.

Pokemonfanboy2000 is really starting too irritate me. After just reading through the thread, he's bragging about being an amazing trainer, telling people how to speak about their parents and reminding people of the four word rule. If you want to moderate how people do things, go make your own forum. PE2K actually has moderators to do that kind of stuff. Anyway, /rant.

I don't actually OWN Heart Gold/Soul Silver, but I've been meaning to trade in my xBox and the games and get a DS, plus HG/SS. Which of the two would you guys recommend? On topic, is Trainer Red like the first generation boss? Or am I just not getting it? Is he like Ash, or something?

I’ve wanted to do those battles for ages, but never got the chance. What party did you use for Mewtwo?

He’s essentially the player character from the first generation (Possibly Yellow) who became the basis for Ash, Red (Pokémon Special/Adventure) and other early protagonists.

I had a little problem with Lapras since Feraligatr's STAB is 4x resisted by it and it's also pretty fat, but that's about it. Lvl 100 Feraligatr sweep FTW.

I haven't gotten close to Red and I still know he's going to be easy, just like the Elite Four. All you need is either a good team or a good strategy, preferrably both. I go for both. I assemble it with good Pokemon. Like, example a - I know Red probably has either a Blastoise, Lapras, or both from reading comments through the thread, but Ampharos (Currently my baby Flaafy named Marie, though) will use thunderbolt or thunderpunch to clear the way. It could even be used to beat the Charizard he supposedly has. Combined with good moves and using them at the right time, I can take him down. Or I can use the good team- like my Platinum team. It's not really hard, and I know I'm kinda talking big for never battling Red, but I'm in the process of getting there.

Marie, my wonderous Flaafy I've loved since she was a wee Mareep will grow to be a big, strong, ass kicking Ampharos....Then Red can go cry.

It's a shame they had to make Red easy to beat in this game. I remember in Crystal I had a seriously hard time beating him.

Red was not so easy but at th same time not so hard.

I beated him with my levels:
Typhlosion lv 60
Togekiss lv 58
Scizor lv 59
Quagsire lv 57
Crobat lv 57
Tangrowth lv 58

So thats it i finished with those levels
