I got Ruby cause of Latios and Groudon, and I chose Mudkip.

For my Ruby version, I chose Mudkip because of the future presence of Groudon. And in my Sapphire version, I chose Torchic because of Kyogre. I always try to keep my games balanced, with different pokemon, etc. I also did the something similar with my other versions.

i have a ruby and a sapphire and i always start off with the water type because they have a type advantage against most gym leaders! But i use all three. I chose Mudkip. Hope this helps!

For my sapphire I chose mudkip (like usual =P), and for my ruby I also chose mudkip. And guess what?? It was shiny! It was a good thing I traded it over to my sapphire before my cousin somehow lost my ruby =/

I first got ruby with torchic, then restarted with mudkip. When I got Sapphire I started with a torchic, but traded that to Firered. I have a treecko currently in my Sapphire, but it isn't a "starter", since I needed Crunch on it.

Sapphire I used Treeko. It looked the coolest of the three.

Leaf I used Charmander because I wanted to make it harder on myself. (Original Red was so easy I figured I'd stack the odds against me this time. ^_^... I played Red so many times I think I have had each starter at least twice.)
