THE THREAD FOR NHL DISCUSSION

I'm disappointed with the New Jersey Devils. The Boston Bruins, however, have been pretty good. That's my two cents, where's yours?

Bumping this because I should have a long time ago. I'm a Habs and Avs fan. Halfway through the season, I'm pleased. Colorado's doing good even with key injuries (Mueller's finally making progress and Stewart's practising!) and Duchene is showing nothing but pure talent. Montreal is doing pretty good too, more so the last week. I have high hopes for the Habs in the post-season, since Price > Halak.

I have a feeling that Thomas will win the Vezina, with a .946SV%, 1.77GAA, and 6SHO (all for #1), he's a great candidate.

And yes, feeding on what TS said, Duchene is definitely providing gravy for the Avs.

Thomas owns, I have him in one of my pools, picked him off Free Agents (dropped Craig Anderson, who was obtained in a long complicated trade involving Ryan Miller), and I don't regret it at all. Halak on the other hand...

Nicklas Lidstrom always owns, case and point.

Wings fan here, 'pretty pleased with how the season has gone so far. My focus has been on football lately, but since the college season is over and my NFL team just got knocked out of the playoffs, I'm going to start paying more attention to hockey.

Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur. Why wouldn't he have won?

Key Injuries: LW Peter Mueller (concussion), LW Tomas Fleischmann (blood clot)

It's alright cause Peter Forsberg is here to help.

I live in sweden, but i don't watch very much hockey. My opinion about him is that he is good, was great a few years ago but he hasn't played in NHL for a while and don't think he can keep up good with the NHL tempo. He also had many injuries in Elitserien(the swedish serie) and is getting old. But that is just me, and it's a shame I don't watch more since my uncle has played in the swedish hockey troop(!) and is a trainer in austria:)

14 points in 9 games back in 2008, and was a huge factor in a 1st round series win against Minnesota. He says his foot feels better than it did back then, and he's still Peter Forsberg. I can safely say that no matter what condition he plays in, he'd still be better than 50% of the forwards out there. He kept up well with the young squad in practice, so hopefully he comes back. It would be amazing (and a little surreal) to see Duchene and Forsberg play together.

**** yeah, page 2!

Just found out that the Bruins acquired D Colby Cohen from Colorado. (about 22 days late)

2009 NCAA Frozen Four hero!

The Avs had a number of Boston U players... including his partner Kevin Shattenkirk. The problem? Colorado has way too many defensive prospects, so we traded one for a current need. Maybe if a few years I'd say we should have kept Cohen over Hunwick... but for now, Hunwick is a key part of the team.

By the way, how do you think that Duchene will compare to Joe Sakic?

I think his breakaway top corner snipe in the All-Star Game speaks for itself.

It was great... just accuracy shooting in the skills competition shouldn't be head-to-head. They need to keep that as it used to be (individual), the rest is perfect imo.

Quality game of hockey though, and keep in mind that was a Canadiens roster lacking Markov, Gorges, and Cammalleri. Sadly, Markov and Gorges are out for the year...

Gomez needs to start earning his ridiculous wad of cash...

But not what Kovi's having.

Gomez (http://nhlnumbers.com/teams/MTL?year=2011) makes more than Kovi (http://nhlnumbers.com/teams/NJD?year=2011) (until 2012-13 anyways). God the Rangers are dumb for ever paying him this much.

Unrelated: ha ha. (http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=2010020823&navid=sb:recap)

I have no damn idea, they did get Tommy Pyatt from that trade too, and I'd still take Gomez over Chris Higgins any day. But still... wtf. (http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=432312)

And, look at the penalties.

Trent Reznor
02-12-2011, 03:00 PM
Aww. I would've loved to watch all of them penalties.

(Gomez sucks.)

EDIT: But yeah, that was some game.
