Hey guys, my name's Lyss and I'm one of the older players, it's safe to say xD I actually refused to play Pokemon for years while my brothers were because you couldn't play as a girl and to my eight or nine year old self that was really sexist! But I was all over Crystal - I would like to also point out I destroyed my brothers over link cable, oh baby.

Basically, I play the games as much for story as anything, and I really like setting myself challenges - for example, I just finished Platinum for the first time (I'd had Diamond but never Platinum) and my goal for myself was to not have a single pokemon other than my starter that evolved conventionally - ended up with Frosslass, Gallade, Rampardos (I counted fossils?), Ambipom ('cause of the move requirement), Empoleon and Crobat. Yeah, I'm weird. I do a lot of monotype play for fun - I've completed Diamond, Leaf Green and Emerald using only Poison-type pokemon (Emerald was by far the most difficult, not least because I had to break the rules until I FOUND a poison-type) mostly because they're my favourite type!

My favourite pokemon by far is Venomoth, which always elicits a o.O from people. I first caught it in Kanto playing Crystal and I've loved them ever since! Dunno why, maybe it's just the Tinted Lens...., but really any Poison-type pokemon make me happy. I always loved Team Rocket so the first time I played (when I didn't think about type matchup so much) I acquired Weezing and Arbok =D. I seriously had a pseudo-lesbian child-crush on Jessie.

In the hopes of avoiding revealing too much more, hi!

Also Tentacruel with Ice Beam = goodbye Lance. Just saying.

Hi Lyss, welcome to PE2K! =)

Monotype Poison challenge sounds really difficult. If you like those kind of challenges, maybe you should check out the Nuzlocke Challenge (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Nuzlocke_Challenge), it's supposed to be pretty hard.

You might also be interested in the URPG (http://pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108215). I'm sure you could create your own Poison army ^^ Anyway, hope you enjoy the forum!

Y'know, you think it would be, but take Sinnoh for instance - Skuntank's flamethrower gives an excellent solution to the common problems of Steel and Ice for Poison, plus Skuntank is immune to Psychic attacks. Then you have Tentacruel to deal with Rock and Ground Types, Dragon and Flying - Crobat avoids the weakness of Ground-type, and then I packed Roserade as a general bomber and Toxicroak as a more powerful attacker against normal types, as well as another solution to the Steel problem.

As you can see, I think this through far too much...

Hey, there's no probs with that. Overthinking is something that some of us like to do. lol
