View Full Version : How do I know if my Shaymin is hacked?
01-06-2011, 03:04 AM
I really HATE fakes, and the GTS is riddled with them, which is where I got my latest team member, a Shaymin.
SHAYMIN lv. 31
Caught in: Heal Ball
Sep. 28, 2009
Apparently had a fateful encounter at lv 30.
ID No: 20508
Sp Atk: 83
Sp. Def: 75
I think that's all the important stuff, can someone help me out? Thanks!!

You can't check if a Pokemon is hacked or not just by looking at the information in-game. There are people out there that can check your Pokemon for you. Links below.
The Global Terminal (PokemonGTS.com) (http://www.pokemongts.com/showthread.php?tid=74294)
The Global Terminal (Bulbagarden Forums) (http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showthread.php?p=2671121)
PC "Check My Pokemon Thread" (PokeCommunity.com) (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=228250)
Any of the above have experienced checkers that can check if your Pokemon is hacked accurately.

Thanks! Unfortunately I use a Wi-Fi adaptor stick, so I can't connect to the Global Terminal. Are you the guy that runs it? It just sounds risky, I don't want to make a mistake and accidently wipe my game cartridge or freeze my DS or something, as I mentioned, not big on cheats and stuff.
But I am curious, can they check only if it was hacked, or would it also show up if it was caught with the surf glitch? Cuz the SG usually bybasses that stuff.

I run The Global Terminal. It's not risky at all, really. Too bad you can't use it though D:
If it was caught using the surf glitch (hometown D/P) then it would be considered hacked.

Well, I do have a friend with actual wi-fi, so I could ask him to let me use it I guess.
I still don't completely understand how it works though. I read the instructions and stuff, its just a bit confusing.

Just follow the setup instructions from the video (for The Global Terminal), the rest should be easy and come as you do it.
If you really don't get it and/or it doesn't work for you then you can try PokeCommunity's Checkers or something.

Thanks for all your help. Until I get a chance to do something more official, I guess I can at least go by the fact that it says it was caught the day that the event started, and it isn't shiney or anything, so it isn't OBVIOUSLY hacked. So, hopefully, it isn't.
