1. maybe your link calbe has a broken part of it somewhere
2. it has to be a gba link cable not a gamboy link
3. in rubey talk to the girl in the middle
4. emerald talk to the last girl + you don't have to beat the elite 4
5. you have to have more than 2 pokemon in your party to trade for both game
6. if you are trading g/s/c pokemon from your rubey to your emerald without having national dex you can't trade that pokemon to your emerald you can once ypu beat the elite 4 and birtch updates it to national
7.you can't use whirless adapter 4 rubey it won't work! but u can use it 4 emerald if you have 2 whirless adapters and fr/lg once u beat elite 4
thats about all the problems you can have
anyways if none of it worked and tried eveything buy new link cable from target

What do you do in G/S/C to trade to emerald? do you have to go to the time thing?

In FR/LG, you need to go to the Sevii Islands and fix the trade machine. Else you can't trade out from it. There's more TR madness that you have to take care of while on the quest for the Ruby and Sapphire, which fix the machine. Read stuff on Game FAQ site. :eh:

If you have a Madcatz, or any other dual-use link cables, make sure the switch is set to GBA, and not GBC... I made that mistake once... spent half an hour tryin to figure out what I was doing wrong

No you can't. The programming for the Pokemon's stats are so different in both games, that it was never possible.

Oh, ok. I think my link cable is messed up anyway. one gameboy says that it is connected and the other doesnt. then when I swich the ends of the cable around the other gameboy says that it isnt connected.

Thats an easy fix, your using the wrong type of cable. If it has a switch somewhere, you might want to flip it (I personally have never seen one of these but ppl say there out there). If its jest two hook ups, you might have to buy a new cable.

Missingno, that's what I suggested. It's the MadCatz link cable (silver, with three ends) that has the switch.

i'm not sure what type it is but I know that it is the kind that has a place in the middle of the cable where you can plug in other cables for 3 or 4 player games. I read the manual and it said that it should work but I am starting to not believe them.:susp: I bought it from toys R us for $5 so its probably bad anyway. also I diddnt see any switch on it.
