My friends are pissed about black/white coming out. they are saying its just lazily thrown together. just because a few of the pokemon are kinda silly looking. I think the games will be awesome! anyone hating on these games like my friends are?

Well no I'm not hating on them, however I'm not really enthusiastic about them either. True I did spoil myself the game by watching walkthroughs on Youtube but even prior to that I wasn't as enthusiastic. Since when they first were introduced I wanted to just wait for the third version to come out like I did for Sinnoh so I wouldn't have to put myself in the position i did for Hoenn, which was buy 2 versions of the exact same game. This Generation I'm not going to be as stupid as I was during Hoenn.

Ya i like how they made the two versions way more different than just having different legendaries/exclusives. Honestly the only good third version was platinum. they changed the story line and actually made it different. I loved platinum. I think they will definately change up the third version of black/white so im gonna get black and the third version.

I'm trying to contain my excitement. I'm a veteran Pokémon fan (and a dedicated, hardcore, eager Pokémon Professor, the highest in all of this world), so it's pretty hard to do. But it'll allow me to wait, because even though it comes out in a week, it'll probably be a week and a half until it reaches my doorstep. Which is a little too long...

But I'm eager to see what's in store with Black and White. I've tried to keep spoilers on the down-low; I've done a horrible job trying to to not memorize all of them before the game comes out. Of course, over 150 Pokémon... I don't know. I just realized it's been a little over a year since Zoroark was revealed. And now here we are. Generation VI will be here before you know it.

I was actually one of those that disliked Black and White. Pixelation and zooming features.

But I tried to look past the things I didn't like. Overall I'm starting to want to buy it.

I like it, mainly for Doredia xD. The only new poke that caught my eye. I hope to get used to more pokes. I saw a polar bear in a youtube vid. I'm looking forward to favoriting more pokes as I play along.

The music is well, ok. I for sure am just gonna start playing Red/Lances Battle Theme song when I get to the Elite Four, and maybe find a city where a Pallet Town, Goldenrod song will fit.

Animated sprites are ok, more could've been done but I will take it.

The Gamestop guy, was shocked I was interested in the black version, since everyone preordered white for Zekrom. I unfortunately saw on Bulbapedia, Misdreavus and Doredia was only avail on Poke white.

I had no choice but to choose poke white.
Hopefully I can get someone to trade me a Houndour, and a Murkrow.

I loved Hoenn whet that hit, & I loved Sinnoh when that hit, so when Isshu came around I had to.
Now Unova(?yeah i know) is around the corner and i cant express how excited i am.
to top it off I shall embark my Journey threw Unova on my Bday whats not to love.

All my old friends(IMO) have come to life. I still frequent the Battle Subway as that is the best way to see the other pokemon alive..(yes im referring to the animated sprites..
early on in the game I noticed that my Snivy nn:Mr42o when put to sleep it actually closed its eyes...:sleepy: its so cool if you ask me.
.Dont like the fresh sprites.

Take a visit to your Pokecenter and battle some random trainer via WiFi.. friend codes (optional) and be prepaired to battle the way a real battle is supposed to be fought.. (well in my version *AP White there is NO ?Uber? ban. I find it to be BOSS.

o: I'm also wanting to battle a friend via Wifi.

I don't follow Uber banlists but I do take things from Smogon as guidelines but if someone uses a superpower pokemon, I have no problem against whether it's a uber or not/even if my team gets wiped. It's just a battle lol.

I kinda wish this game had feature HG/SS had with pokemon following you.

I like the new Region name, Unova pretty cool.

you know I thought about that very thing .. the only feature i could think of remotely like that is the pokemon waiting for you in the HighLink forest..

I dislike talking negatively about the Game Since there is alot I do like but for me oneother downside was the set up for the Items List and all that..I dislike scrolling down all my items like in Platinum?D/P.. the HG/SS pages of stuff was way easier for me to navigate through

awww. so B&W won't have the redesigned menu like HG/SS.

I liked that menu with the icons, it even has a picture of what spot the items are in the bag.

x_x it's a drag just to hold down just to equip a poke with an item or use an item. using D/P/PT menu

I’ll be honest, I haven’t preordered either Black or White and I honestly have yet to find a reason to do so. The graphics look nice, the battle animations are really a step above what we’re used to…

…but it’s still the same old game.

From the very beginning ever since I heard and confirmed a fifth generation was coming out, I facepalmed. After the third generation, there were already a LOT of Pokémon. The fourth generation felt like overkill, and this, with its many awkward Pokémon, feels like a catastrophe. I can just see them moving on to a sixth generation, a seventh generation, an eighth generation, and so on and so on until they just simply can’t milk the series anymore, and what we’re left with is a cesspool of other a thousand Pokémon.

Second, it kills me a little inside that they’re still resorting to the same, tired, overdone, and horribly boring formula they have been using ever since the first Pokémon game came out. Start a fledgling trainer. Get starter Pokémon from Professor So-and-so. Beat evil Team So-and-so. Get eight gym badges. Beat Elite Four. Become Champion. And then undergo the horribly boring grinding process to get your Pokémon to level 100 and/or give yourself a headache trying to catch every Pokémon only to realize at the end of it, you’ve accomplished absolutely nothing. Sorry, but it feels like whenever you start a new Pokémon game, you end up drowning in clichés. The last two Pokémon games I’ve played, Diamond and SoulSilver, are incomplete due to me getting tired of this routine before the game’s end, and I feel like B/W is going to be the same story.

So yeah, I can’t really say I’m excited.

I'd be more excited if I hadn't played the JP versions already. Heck, I still haven't beat the game yet. @_@

At least now I can familiarize with my friends.

I won't say you've done *nothing* ;). One of my pet things is to try to collect all the pokemon in each game and truly I've never been really able to. But in that lack of a full set I always get something:
I learn a lot more about each set of of pokemon than I ever would otherwise. Truth be told if it was up to my first gut pokemon fandom I would have nothing but cute first form\baby\ and a boatload of Rapidash and Flaaffy.
Collecting gets me outside my bubble to really get the feel of the pokemon, since I'm not driven by battling other people on wifi etc...

All and all I am pretty nervous to see the new gen, I'm just going to buy it at walmart this time :).

Yeah the great thing about pokemon is that there something for everyone to do. If you like exploring then you have the whole region(s) to walk around and find. If you like collecting pokemon then you have hundreds of pokemon to find. If you like battling then you have hundreds of pokemon to raise and train. If you like minigames/beuty contests then there is that aspect of the game. pokemon is awesome <3

It really is :).
In a way I think the feeling of wanting a full set and not having it is a more powerful force than say, having a full set and waiting for the next one. If nothing else, you don't get too disappointed if the gens make a leap and you can't transfer your pokemon over that way. (But what do I know, I never restart my games anyway.)

Stating an opinion like that may seem a bit outlandish, but it is an opinion and you should not throw around the word hate too much. All the kids throw that word around nowadays, and now I have to find a new word to express my feelings... ... ... ... I loath the thought of Britney Spear's mind being transplanted with that of the mind of Stephen Hawking... ... ... ... I despise the thought of NFL players getting payed more for throwing a pigskin than soldiers do for risking their lives... ... ... ... I reprimand the rights of life from cancer.

Anyway, playing aside, I would not say I hate it but I am not excited. Let's just saaaaaay, my reaction was like this:

"Oh... look... another Pokemon game... Want to get it, cousin?"

"Maybe..."

"I need an answer, I think you should get it."

"Are you sure, they are using the same basic game mechanic, the same overused story, the same mechanical legendaries, the same cataclysmic end of the world shiz because I pissed of Arceus... Long story short, Sabrina, NO! I DO NOT WANNA GET IT!

I totally get what your saying. Most people aren't excited. But for the uber fans I'm pretty sure we are. Pokemon is getting less exciting for people, but thats because people need "new" things every second of the day. Literally everyday there is a new phone coming out. It's quite annoying. I think Pokemon is the same. They are allowed to use the same story line and same pokemon ideas because thats the golden thing about pokemon. They dont change. The pokemon change, the characters change, the region changes, the technology changes, but deep down pokemon is staying what i think is "pure". so i'm excited pokemon isnt selling out to get more people to start playing. keep it similar to keep the long time fans but make more cool features to draw new players in.

As I'd also like to add, this is also why I liked Pokemon XD and the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. Different approaches, different storylines, different game mechanics, but it was still Pokemon and it was still really good. Even the storyline between PMD: Red/Blue Rescue Team was vastly different from PMD Explorers of Darkness/Time/Sky, and they were both extremely GOOD storylines at that. To me, its about the quality of the game as opposed to how many Pokemon get chugged in there. Okay, so Pokemon XD didn't feature every Pokemon at the time when it was released. Not a big deal to me.

With B/W, I'm just not convinced enough changed from the last few Pokemon games to this to make it worth buying and playing. SoulSilver left me feeling like I had already played and finished the game before. Same thing with Diamond, even though I actually hadn't. I already know there's eight gym badges to collect, and another evil team to fight. I already know there's going to be an Elite Four to battle, and then a Champion to overcome. With Mario games, the layout is always different, and even though you may fight Bowser, how you're going to get there and what's going to surprise you along the way is something you're not going to know. Same thing with Legend of Zelda games. These games change in many ways and try new things that the Pokemon mainstream games just never, ever do, regardless of how many new "Pokegears" they come up with or unrelated minigames they put in.

To me, I'm just tired of the routine that surrounds the mainstream games. Sure, its good to keep a few things the same for familiarity and because that's what the game's about, but when you're reusing the whole scheme of having to fight an evil team, something that could be easily changed to introduce a new crisis or challenge to overcome, you really begin to question if they're even trying. Same thing with becoming a Champion. Let's do something else for a change besides collecting that magical number 8 badges and fighting the Elite Four. Let the new region challenge trainers in some other way, and just when the player thinks they know what's going to happen, surprise the heck out of them.

In the end, I'm not excited for Black/White because it just seems like nothing new, and to me, that's a critical element of the game that makes a lot of difference.

If I end up loving the new pokemon but feeling the game itself is lacking but the land they show us within it isn't (that is if there are some legends about the pokemon they show us only in the pokedex or a trainer pops up and says something interesting before their battle that seems memorable) that's usually when I use fanfic to fill in the gaps. Everyone is different though :).

I'm excited about the games, the new Pokemon don't really impress me, but the games look like fun anyway! I kinda agree with Neo in that I prefer spin-off games with different plots that show off more of the world of Pokemon than just the journey of trainer's.
