Normally a street like this would be hustling and bustling with cars and people. Not today. Everyone always knows when a battle is about to go down in the city, and how to avoid it. It's a pain to commuters, but not as painful as being blasted with a Hyper Beam. MuddyMudkip stands three blocks down from gmandiddy, their Pokemon at their sides. It's time for the battle to begin.
Ability: Serene Grace
Moves: Subsitute (25%) ~ Thunder Wave / Magic Coat
Porygon's systems came online, and it quickly ascertained that it was in the middle of a city, battling a Togepi. Its Download program activated the moment that it realized it was a batle, and it scanned Togepi, comparing the data of this one to its databanks. Equal negative response to physical and energy-based attacks. As Porygon's built-in specialty was energy-based, its extra power reserves bolstered those systems, increasing their power.
Before attacking, however, Porygon's list of commands indicated a Substitute was to be created. This was easy enough; Porygon quickly began making copies of the data files for appearance, weaving them together into a program designed for obedience and protection. Unfortunately, safety purposes, points from its damage-until-automatic-shutdown program could not be copied, and thus had to be directly transferred in order to prevent the clone program from instantly deleting itself. Upon completion of the clone, Porygon ejected the program as a swarming ball of blue data, which immediately reformed itself into a perfect physical copy of the original.
Togepi, meanwhile, had set herself to preparing for status-based hijinks. Her eyes closed, and she looked to the heavens, murmuring what appeared to be a prayer. It was actually more like a spell, however, a verbal (although not understandable, being in Pokemon language) incantation to create an effect. In this case, a Safeguard, protecting Togepi and anyone she considered friendly from certain adverse effects. She glowed blue momentarily, and then it faded, indicating that the attack had taken effect. Satisfied, Togepi began merrily swinging her stubby arms back and forth.
Porygon recognized these motions: Metronome. Quickly, it moved on to the next command set to pending in its cache, Thunder Wave. Energy from its body was pulled to the surface shell, transferring itself into blue electricity bouncing up and down in a random crisscross pattern. Porygon locked on target, allowed the electricity to build up for just a few seconds more, and then unleashed it, launching the electrical wave like a net. It sailed through the air, and landed directly on Togepi, who didn't seem to notice it coming. She also didn't notice it actually being on her, either, as the electricity pushed to get into her nervous system and failed miserably before dissipating.
Togepi's cheerful grin grew wider as the tips of her arms suddenly glowed bright white, signalling the completion of Metronome. Her body then began acting on impulse, completely overtaken by the attack. Her arm lifted up into the air, turned from white to a golden color, and then came crashing down on the ground. A golden stream of light zig-zagged from the point of impact to the area where Porygon was, stopped, and then burst in a flash. When the light faded, the asphalt had crumbled, leaving a swirling vortex of sand in its place specifically designed to entrap any Pokemon caught in it. Porygon looked down, momentarily halted by the logical barrier it was faced with (in layman's terms, confused) before reaching the conclusion that the attack that could not harm it, and thus not worth worrying about.

Tri-Attack ~ Return
Porygon spun its wedge-shaped feet, analyzing its command. Its blank eyes slit shut as its mechanical mind began to bring up the energy that pulsed throughout its body. Its eyes opened again as a sphere of pulsing white energy formed on the tip of its ‘nose’. It gazed at Togepi coldly, locking onto the target with laser precision. It then shot a small surge of energy into the sphere’s center, making the orb separate into a three-pointed polygon linked by luminous white beams. The yellow, blue, and red-pointed pulse of energy swirled through the air right at Togepi, leaving trails of smoke, static, and frosty vapor.
Togepi yelped with fear and waddled quickly aside. However, she tripped on her own paws and feel facefirst on asphalt. As luck would have had it, the Tri-Attack zinged by over her head with millimeters to spare. Porygon blinked. How could such a precisely-delivered attack have missed? It gave the problem over to its secondary data receptacles; Togepi was getting up and she looked ready to attack.
Togepi smiled warmly at Porygon, then began to think tired thoughts. She thought of fluffy pillows, warm milk, and soft, comfy beds. Her eyes closed, and even she began to feel drowsy. She opened her small mouth and let out a loud yawn, which – highly illogically, in Porygon’s mind – formed itself into a sort of pink cloud. The cloud enveloped Porygon, making its processing units shutter.
BED? It thought. It certainly could feel itself losing power... It managed to shake itself into focus. It couldn’t hold out forever, but it certainly could attack in the meantime.
Instead, it searched its memory banks for data on good times with its Trainer. It remembered praise, battles fought and won, Aprijuice and Poffins given, and just general messing about. Its Trainer had put a lot into it, and now Porygon would give back. It called forth energy into its outer armor and propelled itself forward at massive speed. Togepi shrieked in surprise as the energy-driven Porygon slammed its hard body into hers. Porygon cut the energy flow and withdrew, while Togepi had to take a few moments to recover; she got up stiffly, her body bruised.
She glared at Porygon with hateful little eyes. The stops were pulled out now. She lunged right at the boxy Virtual Pokemon; her body began to glow with a golden aura that trailed behind her. She no longer cared about her own safety; all she wanted was to hurt Porygon. She leaped into the air in front of him – causing him to stare up in puzzlement – and came slamming back down, crashing back into him with a violent force.
00111001011101001H DANG. For a second, Porygon’s thoughts were scrambled enough to have to revert back to binary code. Togepi fared little better; she felt limp and her body throbbed with a dull ache. Slowly she peeled herself off of Porygon and flopped on the ground nearby. Both of the battlers were panting and pained.

Porygon just had enough time to make one attack on Togepi before it fell asleep. It started to gather electrical energy in its body, ready to unleash it on the hatchling. Then the beam fired. It was much more powerful than normal due to Porygon’s increased attack power so it did a lot of damage to the small chick. Her Safeguard was still up so she didn’t have the threat of paralysis to worry about but just the hit she took was bad enough. She fell on to her back for a while, dazed.
However, Togepi was not out of the running yet; in fact she had barely begun. While the computerized duck began to nod off, its opponent was planning the best way to attack it and cause the most damage in return for the beating she had suffered in the last action. She was soon able to pinpoint the weak points on her enemy so that she could be more effective in her strikes. The fun was only just beginning.
The computer program was sleeping deeply at this point, but he wasn’t sleeping quietly. The snoring Porygon was totally oblivious to the world around it but somehow its trainer’s orders had permeated its mind so that it could continue the battle despite being in the land of nod. It suddenly began to snore much more loudly causing shockwaves to emanate from itself. They were powerful enough to break some of the nearby windows, making the glass cascade down to the ground like lethal rain. Togepi was also hurt by the waves – she struggled to stand as they continued to hit her but managed to stay on her feet. Now that her Safeguard had vanished, there was the possibility that she would flinch but luckily that didn’t happen.
When the snoring had gone back to a normal level, Togepi moved in for her next attack. She focused on the sleeping Porygon, feeling around, trying to find a way into its head. Then, she found a small way in; it was the place where data would be downloaded into the Pokémon to improve its performance and give it information on its task. Togepi’s control slipped in through the gap in Porygon’s defences and entered the Virtual Pokéon’s central processing unit. Now that she was inside, she could focus on her task. She found the stream of data which would become Porygon’s dream; she knew she would have to mess around with the coding but she didn’t know what she should do or how she should do it. The easiest option was to switch around the numbers, which was what she ended up doing, and then get out. When she returned to her own body, she could see the Porygon flinching in its sleep and she felt a little less hurt, though she knew she hadn’t done very much damage.
