Oooh~

First, make 'em waste all that fancy conditionals. Give Pichu a good snooze with Hypnosis. Then, go for the STAB win and use Hex at double the power.

Pre-battle
Out in the depths of space, two trainers were preparing to do battle. Below them was the planet they had come from, a planet covered mainly in water but with small continents of land on which humans and species of Pokémon lived. A small satellite was nearby; this was the satellite which allowed the League to keep track of their licensed trainers, referees and rangers to make sure they were safe. Coincidentally, it was also useful for trainers who wanted to battle in space to stay on. A green light flashed on each of their space suits, they were ready to go.

One allowed a small, yellow mouse to detach itself and float around in the partial vacuum; this was a Pichu, which somehow had the ability to breathe in space. The other trainer uncoiled the strings around his arm, letting a yellow balloon drift close to the Pichu. This Drifloon, as well as also ignoring the fact that there is no air in space, seemed to be able to show he was floating despite the fact that everyone else was floating too. This seemed like it would be a very strange match.

FreakyBalloon started to glow a light blue colour, making it look even eerier than usual. If Pichaizer was unnerved by this he didn’t show it - even when the X on the Drifloon’s face began to glow brightly he continued to watch the strange performance. The ghostly balloon was storing all sorts of sleepy thoughts in her mind so that she could project them at her opponent. When she had counted to who knows how many Flaffy, she released the psychic energy at the electric rodent. Unfortunately, FreakyBalloon hadn’t seen what Pichaizer had. A small piece of space junk shot in between the two Pokémon, not big enough to hit either of them but enough to stop the attack from hitting the yellow mouse.

While FreakyBalloon seemed disheartened at this, Pichaizer had been told to cheer him up. He began to applaud her effort and told her not to worry. Next time she tried it would go much better than that; it had only failed due to a freak accident after all. As the ghost-type listened to this, he realised that her enemy was right – she would use Hypnosis again and this time nothing would stop her from hitting her target. Emboldened by this, she returned to her original move. Pichaizer’s plan had worked, though he wasn’t quite sure how it helped him.

Once again, the scary balloon took on the now familiar glow and stored the thoughts in the X on its face. She started to count Flaffy and think about a warm comfortable bed, which was difficult out here in the depths of space. When she was ready the X shaped blast was fired once more and this time hit its target in the face. The small electric-type moved backwards slightly due to the small force of the attack. He felt his eyelids get heavier and struggled to keep them open. This time, however, there was no escape. The Pichu slowly curled up and went to sleep, where he could dream about... well, whatever Pichu dream about. Cheese or something, I guess.

Round Two

Under the impact of Encore, the yellow balloon Pokémon was forced to again attempt putting Pichu under its spell. Sadly, Pichu was already sound asleep. [Hypnosis: Drifloon -3 Energy] Pichu, in an attempt to mount the offensive, was ordered to use Sleep Talk. Pichu seemed to stir for a bit before going back into its peaceful slumber. [Sleep Talk -> Rest: Pichu - 8 Energy]

Drifloon, with Encore finally lifted, danced around as a black energy began to surround Drifloon. Swinging its stringy arms forward, the darkness swept across from the field from one Pokémon to another. The energy seemed to crawl over Pichu's skin, and suddenly fading into it, which caused the Electric type considerable pain, as it winced in its slumber. [Hex: Pichu: -18 HP | Drifloon: -19 Energy] As if on cue, Pichu however, began to rise and woke up, looking only a little groggy. With plains for revenge, the Mouse Pokémon began to charge electric energy in its cheeks and send it flying, hitting the Ghost type for super effective damage. [Thunderbolt: Drifloon -14 HP | Pichu: -17 Energy]
