Round 1
A ancient shrine. The bright crystal shone in the light of the sun. Both trainers stood on the outside of the moat facing one another. They both held silent. The tree rustled in the slight breeze. These two trainers were both ready to win.

When the breeze stopped for a second, both trainers knew now was the time. They tossed their pokeballs into the air, and released their companions onto the battlefield. On one side landed Lotus, the Zorua. She began running back and forth giggling. Suddenly it seemed as two more of her appeared from nowhere. They all began running around playing and snickering. Drakon, the Axew, sitting on the other side of the island, stared somewhat shocked at the appearance of the clones, but still stood ready to fight. [Zorua: Ability-Illusion; creates 2 clones]

Their orders were called and all the pokemon jumped ready to try their hardest. Lotus was faster. Her and her clones began giggling and laughing. But in the real Lotus' mind, thoughts of a plot against beating her opponent began flashing through her head. She suddenly felt stronger because in all her thoughts, she was the victor. [Zorua: Nasty Plot: +2 SPATK; -8 Energy] Drakon, on the other hand, did not try to attack first. Instead it began a very beautiful dance. It moved gracefully across the floor of cherry blossom petals, which swirled around him in the wind. He ended the dance with a stomp, and shook with the power the great dragons had given him.[Axew: Dragon Dance: +1 SPD. +1 ATK; -8 Energy]

New orders were called and the pokemon jumped to action. Drakon was now the faster one, thanks to the dragon dances' blessings. He quickly began to focus. His jaw opened wide and inside a small ball of energy began to appear. It grew then suddenly shot forward at Lotus. The Zorua didn't seemed to be worried. When the beam hit it, the zorua giggled before vanishing into thin air. [Axew: Dragon Pulse: -12 Energy/Zorua: Hit Clone; No Damage] Suddenly the two Zorua began bursting into tears. Large mournful tears. Axew took a step back, feeling somewhat guilty that he had hurt their one playmate. The tears soon turned into giggles, but they held them long enough to put the point across the Drakon. Zorua: Fake Tears: -8 Energy/Axew: -1 SPDEF*]

We're doing good, Drakon. Looks like our last Dragon Dance payed off, but let's change things up a bit. Let's start things off with Leer to lower our opponent's defense. Then if that little Zorua decides to attack, use Protect. Otherwise I want you to use Draco Meteor. Let's see if we can't start to get an upper hand.

Round 2
Drakon immediately jumped on the large tree that stood in the middle of the small island. He dropped down and slammed his feet against the ground. He then glared straight in front of him where one of the giggling Zorua stood. It was startled some by the evil stare and stepped back. The other Zorua vanished the same way the other did, leaving Lotus to fend for herself.
[Leer/Zorua: -1 DEF; Axew: -8 Energy]

Lotus composed herself and was ready for action. Her smile grew to a somewhat threatening look. Her dark eyes locked onto her target. Suddenly a black beam, that resembled the look of lighting flashed out from the Zorua. It slammed into Drakon and he tripped and fell on his back. Black "sparks" flashed off from him as he began to stand back up.
[Night Daze/Axew: -11 Health; Zorua: -11 Energy]

Drakon began to make a run for the sacred tree. There he rolled himself up in a crevice that was formed by the roots. He seemed to whisper something to the tree, yet all that could be heard was just "axew". He seemed confident that he was protected where he was. Light reflected away from him in a strange way, as if he was contained within glass.
[Protect/Axew: Protect up, -13 Energy]

Lotus again began to spark black as she prepared herself to attack again. She barked and again a black shock-wave shot towards the hiding Axew. But suddenly the tree roots grew in a orb shape around Drakon and the attack deflected off the tree as if were nothing. Axew burst through the root covering untouched. There must have been a spirit within the tree only Axew's had sensed.
[Night Daze/Axew: Protected, Zorua: -11 Energy]

Okay Drakon, let's keep the momentum going. We are going to start things off with Rock Smash. After that, if Lotus tried to change stats, use Swords Dance. If she tries to attack after that, dodge it. If you feel like you can take it, then go ahead and use another Rock Smash to try to get the lead.

Zorua immediately went on the defensive, intently staring down Axew, awaiting the Dragon type's next action.[Detect; Zorua: -8 Energy] Axew, raring to deal some super effective damage, charged the black fox-like creature, pulling back its stubby arm so as to build up momentum. Axew launched its fist into the strike, swinging at Zorua, but to no avail. Zorua's skills of detection proved powerful as it nimbly sidestepped the strike. [Rock Smash; Axew: -7 Energy] Without a moment's pause, Zorua quickly closed its eyes while in such close range to Axew. Upon opening them, it's face was that of a sexy, sultry Zorua, ready to take Axew as its lover. Zorua kissed the air in Axew's direction, sending a pink heart floating through the space between the battlers. [Attract; Zorua: -4 Energy] Of course, using a ranged attack in a close range did not give Axew any time to evade the strike. The heart reached his face and gave a gentle pop, and soon, Axew was deeply infatuated with Zorua. [Dodge; Nothing happened!]

Very good. If you can't overpower them, then make them do your bidding. Now then, if at any time she tries to recall Axew, then give her a nice going away present in the form of Pursuit. Otherwise, a nice double-dose of Night Daze should do the trick. With any luck, one of them might knock his accuracy down a notch.

*face palm* Really Drakon? You had to fall for that. *sigh* Well it's just like you to think you could dodge when you're that close to the opponent. Oh well, let's see if you can pull this off. Axew had been ordered to dig and stay underground - it was a brilliant tactic, as both of its opponent's attacks would miss, and Axew could regain some energy in the mean time. The plan would've been perfect if Axew weren't so madly in love... and so, it didn't move. [Dig; Axew: Infatuated]

Wasting no time, Zorua quickly backed up further and jumped high into the air. It's front paws were outlined by a thick, crimson aura as it began to rapidly approach the ground. Zorua leaned forward, allowing its two paws to touch down first, as they let loose a wide orange wave of energy, which swept across the ground and slammed into Axew, causing the lovesick Dragon type quite a bit of pain.
[Night Daze; Axew: -31 HP | Zorua: -11 Energy]

Still in love despite the pain, Axew began to rest a bit, allowing its energy to restore.
[Chill; Axew: +6 Energy]

Zorua, amused by Axew's lack of offensive, used Night Daze in a similar fashion - jumping high, charging energy, and letting loose, slamming Axew yet again with the surge of dark energy.

Lotus was desperate to get the last say in his battle against Drakon so reacted quickly when the dragon’s trainer pulled a poké ball from her pocket. She was nearly instantly cloaked in a shroud of black and charging at her opponent – she had to get to him at exactly the right time for the attack to succeed. A single beam of red light came from the button at the centre of the red and white ball and moved to envelop Drakon. The Zorua struck just as the laser began transforming his target back into storable energy – exactly the right moment. The dragon-type made a small noise before it was sucked back into the poke ball and Lotus knew that his attack had worked well. However, the battle wasn’t over yet. Crystal Moyomia took a second ball from her pocket and threw it into the air; the pokémon within was a Lapras, except that it was purple. Shinju’s entry to the shrine was heralded by a bright white light, which soon faded away. She looked down at the trickster she was about to fight, not thinking that she would be too much of a challenge.

The fox was faster than Shinju so the Lapras was going to have to wait a while before showing her who was boss. Lotus gathered dark energies into a swirling, rotating orb which hovered in front of her snout; these energies were very dangerous and could even make the opponent less likely to hit their target if directed well. The trickster fox cried out as he fired the ball at the shiny Lapras. The attack rocketed towards her at a frightening speed before colliding with the transport pokémon’s face. The pulse exploded in her eyes, temporarily blinding her, and made her bellow in pain. Although her vision did slowly return, it wasn’t as good as it had been – now everything was darker so she couldn’t be as sure of hitting the right thing when she came to attack.

Not entirely sure of what she was doing, Shinju began her next attack. She focused on her ice-type powers and soon enough her mouth was filled with cold, white energy. Before long there was too much of the energy to fit comfortably in her mouth and so several crackling bolts of ice were released and shot towards the last known position of her target. Unfortunately, Lotus had known that staying where she was was a bad idea and had moved into the cave mouth through which the trainers had entered earlier in the battle. So instead of dealing damage to the target, the beams of ice hit the sacred tree, which lost a couple of leaves to the frost.

Seeing Lotus nearly exhausted, Robert felt it was time to change things up a bit. Knowing that Lapras didn't know Pursuit made the choice easier. "Lotus, take a rest." Robert said before he then brought out his next Pokemon. He knew that neither of his other two could stand long against a water type, but Lotus didn't have much fight left in her. "Now go, Farah! Get in that sunlight and use Overheat, but if it tries to protect itself, then use Howl instead! And if it tries to status you, then use the tree to avoid it!" Robert called out, pointing his Pokeball to the light that reflected off of the orb at the back of the arena

Master Zorua decided that his Zorua had had enough battling for the time being and decided to start again with a fresh battler. Red light engulfed the panting fox and brought her back to her poké ball, where she could have a bit of a rest. Then her trainer replaced her ball with a similar one; this one was marked as different by a small star engraved into the top half. The ball split open and a Growlithe with strangely coloured fur appeared in the reflected sunlight. She stretched out, allowing the sunlight to warm her.

Shinju knew that she was safe from her opponent for the moment and so decided to tip the odds in her favour for a while. She began to focus and a blue aura enveloped the Lapras – it pulsed and spiked violently. The purple water-type tilted her head and gave a small roar; as she did, the pulsing blue rocketed skywards, causing rain-clouds to gather in the sky. Torrential rain hammered down on the combatants and their trainers. Farah growled as it fell – this was going to make things a little more difficult.

However, the shiny Growlithe was not ready to give up just yet. Fire began to flare up within the pup; it was powered up by the reflected light, which continued to shine on the tree, but was also weakened by the pouring rain. The raging fire erupted from Farah’s mouth and blasted into Shinju; it didn’t do much damage to her though. The attack had consumed quite a bit of energy and nothing that powerful would be available to the pup for a while.

The shiny Lapras didn't like this too much and decided to retaliate. Her body absorbed water from the falling rain while she slipped into the pool which surrounded the tree at the centre of the arena. Water began to collect under the water-type, who rose up above the battlefield; then she pushed forward, bringing the wave crashing down on the petrified Growlithe. Farah yelped in pain as the water hammered her into the ground – that had hurt a lot and he would need to strike back hard in order to even scratch the armoured plesiosaur. This wouldn’t be easy.

With Farah still recovering from the last round, Shinju grasped the opportunity to move first. Using the rain which was still falling over the arena as well as the water in the pool, she gathered a large ball of liquid; she flung it at the limping Growlithe, who howled as it smashed into her side. Water can be the most powerful of the elements and the fire-type was certainly feeling that. Unfortunately for the puppy, some of the water had managed to get into her inner ear, where it affected her balance until she could barely stand up straight. The pup was hurt and confused – and very annoyed.

Farah began to snarl and growl at Shinju; the Lapras had caused her pain and suffering beyond anything she had experienced before and now she wanted her out. She knew that he wasn’t powerful enough to get rid of her and that she would probably be out cold before she even got close but this didn’t discourage her – she just needed to be a little more cunning. She opened her mouth wide, showing her sharp teeth, and roared at the armoured plesiosaur; Shinju trembled slightly and moved backwards – she had really got her opponent angry and there was no telling what she would do now. She forgot all about the advantage she had and decided that it was time to get out. Crystal Momoyia watched this with annoyance – Drakon didn’t seem fit enough to go back into battle but she didn’t want to reveal her last pokémon. This was going to be tricky.

Crystal realized that she was not doing too well. Drakon had taken a beating, and was forced back out by Farah’s Roar. He turned to look over his shoulder at his trainer, wondering why he’d been forced out of his Pokeball when she had let him in there to rest. Crystal unclipped his Pokeball off her belt and tossed it back to him, once again. Drakon sighed in relief as the red light enveloped him and pulled him back into his Pokeball. Crystal then nodded to Shinju, who slowly edged forward to face her opponent again.

Farah, unfazed by the change of events, decided to launch her next attack. She focused on Shinju, and managed to remain focused and fight through her confusion. She quickly rushed the plesiosaur, and began to smack her with her paws and head in a manner similar to Frustration. However, rather than wildly slapping, Farah seemed to move more precise and calculated. However, when she jumped back, she seemed to be more exhausted than her opponent.
(Growlithe > -26 Energy, Lapras > -8 HP)

Farah stopped after her last attack, and thought back on what her trainer had told her to do next. Shinju was instructed to use Brine, which would keep the battle at a distance. So she was supposed to hide behind the tree. Turning, Farah dashed towards the tree. However, as she got closer, it seemed to move on her. She angled herself to try and catch it, and managed to run head first into the tree.
(Growlithe > -5 HP)

Shinju watched the Growlithe dash towards the tree, only to dive right into its trunk. She didn’t quite understand the Pokemon’s actions, but knew what she needed to do next. She aimed towards Farah, and just like with Ice Beam, began to focus on her powers. This time, however, she began focusing on her water-type powers. Soon, her mouth began to fill to bursting with water, and she quickly opened her mouth to release the force of the salty liquid onto her opponent. Farah turned towards the Lapras, and took the hit directly into the chest. She fell sideways beside the tree, and kicked up a cloud of dust. As the dust settled, it became obvious that Farah had been knocked out. Shinju raised her flippers and reared her head back in victory.

Master Zorua pulled out his Pokeball for Farah and recalled his Growlithe who was currently knocked out. He drew another Pokeball from his belt and tossed it out. From the red light appeared what seemed to be a small chicken. It was Flare, Zorua’s Torchic. She sized up her opponent, and to her credit didn’t back down. Rather, she seemed pumped and ready to take on the challenge of bringing down such a large foe. However, Shinju had the superior speed, and started with her move. Shinju raised her head towards the sky, and opened her mouth. A small blue ball began to form, and before long she shot it skyward. Shortly after the ball was out of sight, storm clouds appeared and it began to rain on the small clearing.
(Lapras > -7 Energy)

Flare, unaffected by the rain, laughed because she wasn’t going to be using a fire-type move. Rather, she began to charge the large Pokemon head on. She dashed around the side of the Lapras, and kicked out one of her small legs. Shinju laughed, until the leg made contact and tripped her up. The Lapras fell forward, landing on her chest, as the small bird dashed around behind her so she wouldn’t be crushed underneath the falling giant.
(Torchic > -42 Energy, Lapras > -9 HP)

Shinju pushed herself up, and slowly turned around to face Flare. She focused on the small bird, and softly began to sing her a lullaby. The small chick tried to dash away, but the sound of Shinju’s voice captivated her. The musical notes coming from the Lapras slowly edged towards Flare, wrapping themselves around her as she started to feel her eyes droop and her head fell forward. She tried to fight the urge to sleep because she knew that she had to stay awake to attack, but it was becoming so hard for her to focus. Finally, Flare surrendered to slumber, and slept right through her next order from her trainer.

Crystal called for Shinju to wait and see what move her opponent would take, and sat back to watch her. The Torchic struggled to wake up, and failed to do so. Rather, Flare was laying in a puddle of water, still out cold and snoring. So Crystal’s Lapras decided to take a moment and relax so that she could regain some energy while her opponent’s nap continued on a little longer.
(Lapras > +6 Energy; Torchic > SLP)

Next, Shinju went on the assault. Tossing her head back and opening her mouth, the Lapras swallowed all the rain water she could hold. Then she turned towards the small chicken lying before her, and started to see doubles. She shook her head and focused, forcing the water she swallowed to become a raging torrent and she opened her mouth to release the blast at the Torchic. Flare took the full brunt of the attack, and went flying across the crevice, smacking into the tree in the middle. Surprisingly, she was still asleep, and didn’t appear to be waking anytime soon.

With Flare still out of it, Shinju decided that it was time to wrap things up; she had been battling for quite a while now and was ready for a bit of rest. She looked down at the slumbering chick without showing any signs of mercy – it was time to get this over with. Salty water was blasted from the plesiosaur’s mouth, smashing into Flare like a train. The sheer force of the attack meant that the Torchic took a reasonable amount of damage but there was additional damage from the salt getting into wounds which already existed. The beaten fire-type mumbled a little in her sleep but then rolled over and continued to snore.

Flare continued to snore all the way through her next action. Master Zorua watched her despairingly, hoping for some sign of motion. But whatever dream the flightless bird was having was obviously too good for her to return to the land of the living.

But then, just as her trainer was beginning to lose all hope, Flare’s eyes snapped open and she got to her feet. It was obvious that she was in pain but she knew that she had to continue. Her eyes were glowing red and her feathers seemed to have caught alight, giving the impression that she was on fire; both trainers knew what this meant – Blaze had been activated, but was it too late? The Torchic began to focus, building up her defences so that she could take at least one more hit before having to throw in the towel. Her opponent regarded her with little caution; this still wouldn’t take very long if she played it right.

Shinju, although annoyed that her opponent was up and fighting again, took a moment to concentrate on her next attack; she stared into the calm waters of the pool, willing it to start moving. Slowly, the water began to rotate and form a whirlpool in the middle of the pond. Flare watched it with interest; she didn’t see how that would affect her. But then the Lapras began to glow blue with a mixture of psychic and water energy. The swirling funnel of water began to rise from the pool, hovering over the surface like a conical tower of doom. With a flick of her head, Shinju tossed it at Flare, who was immediately enveloped in the raging water. The bird called out miserably; she was in a lot of pain and there was very little chance she could make it through the next round – this whirlpool would stop her if nothing else did.

[Surge] Houndoom (♂)
Ability: Flash Fire
Signature Move: Ice-Flamethrower
Description: Due to scientific experiments done on Surge when he was just an egg, his DNA was slightly altered. Not only did the experiments leave him with unnatural cobalt blue eyes, he was also able to learn ice-type moves. However, instead of learning the different type of moves he learned how to infuse the elements of fire and ice, thus creating the Ice-Flamethrower. It is similar to the original fire-type move, but the flames are colored in different shades of blue instead of the more common orange colors. Also, since Surge isn't an ice-type Pokémon, he is unable to use the move one after the other. He has to allow his body to regain the blue flame that the attack uses. Other than being able to be an ice-type move, it's just like any other Flamethrower when it comes to power and accuracy.
Type: Fire/Ice | Base Power: 95 | Accuracy: 100 | Classification: Special | Energy Modifier: 8 if Fire/13 if Ice
Effects: Ice-Flamethrower has a 50% chance of being a fire-type move and 50% chance of being ice-type. If it ends up being fire-type, there is a 10% chance of slightly burning the opponent. On the flip side, there is a 10% chance of freezing the opponent if the attack's element is ice.
Usage Gap: Once every other round

With Flare almost out of the picture, Crystal decided that it was time to give Shinju a bit of rest. She pulled the Lapras’ poké ball from her pocket and watched as the beam of red light hit her pokémon’s shelled back and turned it back to energy, which could be easily stored. While Shinju was being carefully stowed away so that she could return later if necessary, the whirlpool which had surrounded Flare began to fall apart; the Torchic fell out of it, battered and bruised – she was barely able to stand, let alone fight. But now there was a new opponent facing her, a large, brutal looking dog, who could breathe fire. She squeaked and fell on to her back – she wasn’t enjoying this.

Fortunately, Master Zorua had realised that she wouldn’t be able to fight for much longer and decided to recall her. However, he then realised that the only other pokémon he had remaining was Lotus, the Zorua, who was hardly in a better state; nevertheless, he had to go with someone and soon a, rather grouchy looking, black fox was prowling around the tree at the centre of the arena. By her side were two exact clones. She looked at the Houndoom on the other side of the water and growled – she was not happy to have been called back out.

Surge looked at the Zorua, his eyes glinting with fire; he watched her movements, the way she dragged her feet, how her ears drooped slightly, that her tail was resting on the floor. He could see that she was tired and that this match wouldn’t go on for very long in any case. But that didn’t mean that he wouldn’t need some sort of plan to bring her down. You see, Surge was a tactical genius as well as a strong battler; just by the information he had gathered by watching his opponent he had come up with a plan that could bring her down with a thump. As long as he followed the plan, she would take more damage than usual and he’d win easily.

But Lotus was tired and needed a little time to rest before going back into battle and fighting tooth-and-nail. She lay down, clones by her side, and took a few deep breaths; she was useless until she had restored some of her energy. Meanwhile, her adversary smiled – she was doing exactly what he wanted her to.

Alright, let's throw this battle back in our favor. Use Attract! If it immobilizes the Pokemon then take the opportunity to Chill again. If it is able to attack, then use U-Turn to hit it hard and retreat.

Attract ~ Chill/U-Turn

Dear Arceus no. Protect against Attract. And then since it'll be using U-turn, use Howl to prepare for our next little "guest".

With the end of the battle seemingly in sight, Surge and his trainer didn’t want to lose the upper hand that they had gained. The Houndoom looked over at Lotus, who was prowling on the other side of the pool; he knew that she would want to try and stop him from attacking her and so needed a way to counter a move like that. With his eyes still on the Zorua he was trying to stop, Surge focused on creating a barrier in the air between the two of them; a thin, blue dome began to form around him – this would protect him from just about anything the little black fox could throw at him. His focus increased and the dome thickened, strengthening so that it could with stand incredibly high forces and pressures. The black dog looked out from behind his shield; he was ready for whatever trick this fox tried to pull.

Lotus, however, had been too busy preparing her own attack to notice what her adversary was doing. Pink and blue hearts orbited the Zorua and her pair of clones like a trio of miniature solar systems. Lotus hated doing this, she didn’t even like this dog, but knew that she had to find some way of stopping him before she was torn apart; it seemed to be necessary. The Zorua blew a kiss at her target as the hearts which were orbiting her broke away and flew at him. Hearts filled the sky but Surge remained calm – there was no way for them to break through his shield. Sure enough, the hearts were all broken or deflected by the shimmering dome, making Lotus scream in anger – she was already low on energy and wasting it now was definitely not good.

Surge’s plan was going well so far; he had managed to avoid her crippling attack and had already worked out what she would do next. As he was still able to attack her, Lotus would want to be out as soon as possible, so he would have to prepare for whoever came out next. He looked up at the sky and howled, filling the arena with sound. As he did this, he felt a surge of adrenaline course through him – whatever came out next, he would be ready for it.

However, rather than going back to her trainer, Lotus and her clones began to run at Surge; they leapt over the stream and began a half-hearted looking charge at the fiery hound. When the Houndoom looked at them, he could see that the clones were both flickering a little – was Lotus about to run out of energy. The fox looked at her target through narrowed eyes; it was hurting her just to continue this – she wanted to have it finished with. She stumbled and fell, her clones disappearing. Although she tried to stand again, it was no use; she didn’t have enough energy to go on any more – she let herself slip away. Surge looked down at the fallen trickster; he could have sworn that he didn’t touch her.

What the heck do you mean?! It is her post, not mine!

I sent you a VM saying that you needed to post a Pokemon since your Zorua fainted before I could post my moves. It fainted because it ran out of energy.

Firstly, I don't get VM notifications. I only get PM notifications. Secondly, I have only one Pokemon left. Torchic. It's right here, on the same page.

Even so, you have to post that you're sending it out. The ref isn't going to do that for you. It's a trainer's action, so it needs to be posted.

I'm going to do whatever the **** it takes to get this fight to a regular finish.

Please, watch your language on the forum. There's really no point for it in this situation. Also, in my personal opinion, it shows immaturity. There are young members (as young as 11) on this site, and they really don't need to be subjected to that kind of language.

It shows wasted time, and now I have nothing that I can use to DO anything with on this board! If it was something that just lasted a week I wouldn't care, but to have spent that much time so I could get at least SOMETHING for my troubles, only to get nothing off of a technicality. I apologize for the asterisks, but right now I am furious.

The way I see it, Master Zorua isn't really at fault here. I usually don't look at a battle thread until its my turn to post, and Zorua should have been notified via PM of the pending disqualification (there was no way for her to know she ran out of Energy!). Therefore, I'm going to override the ruling here. This battle is still on with Torchic in play. CM is NOT awarded $24. Continue battling.

I must say that most refs that I've seen notify through VM, not PM. Also, it was stated three times and ways that Zorua fainted. And MZ, you were only supposed to post that you were to send Torchic out. This is the second time you've done this in this battle. You were only supposed to send your Pokemon out, I post my moves, and then you can post yours. But whatever at this point. I'll just go ahead and post my moves.

Master Zorua recalled his Zorua; he had hoped that she would be able to do a little more damage to his opponent’s Houndoom before falling. Things didn’t seem to be going his way today and there was very little he could do to change that at the moment. He put the poké ball back into his pocket and brought out Flare’s. He looked at it for a long moment before tossing it into the air. It landed near the sacred orb and spewed out light and fire as the Torchic emerged, engulfed in burning flames. Her Blaze ability was fully active and sent surges of energy through her body with every passing second, but she still appeared unsteady – the damage she had taken earlier was having a massive effect on her, and not even her added power from Blaze could stop her feeling weak. She just hoped that this would be over soon.

A growl rose in Surge’s throat as he leapt forward and began to run. There wasn’t much distance between him and the Torchic so he had almost covered it by the time she registered his approach. His mouth opened wide and he moved in to bite the flaming chicken. The fire cloaking Flare was no help at all against the snarling hound, and his teeth were soon clamped around her wounded body, crushing whatever resistance there was left. The Torchic gave one last squeak of protest before the world around her faded away and her body went limp. Surge dropped her on the ground and walked back to his trainer, who recalled him and walked up to her opponent. Master Zorua put away Flare’s ball; he hadn’t expected much from her but a little bit more of a fight would have been nice. He shook hands with CM as they reached the cave entrance. Then they left and the shrine was left in peace once again.
