Pokemon Elite 2000 Forum Reopens!

The Pokemon Elite 2000 Forum is now reopen!

Why the forum was down
The forum is moved to a new server, so that's why the forum was down.

The URL of the forum is: www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum

That use to redirect you to the forum location, but now it's the actually location of the forum.

New vBulletin Version
While the forum was down, a new version of vBulletin was released. From what we had at 3.0.8, we now upgraded to 3.5.0. The new version offers many new features and improvements (that's why the big number jump). You can view some of the new changes here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138544

Forum Skins
Due to the version upgrade, since the upgraded version is so different from what we used, the skins we had were no longer compatible. Although the skins still work, some of the features of the skins are no longer there. Fortunately, the skins differences are pretty minor and you can still use the skins without any problems. I tested all the skins, and from what I've seen, they're working fine (although some look a bit different than before). But if you find any errors, like missing images, just tell me about it.

Also, the default skin for the forum is now the BlueCommune skin, since it better matches the website.

And another minor note about the skins, for the "smooth" skins, you can now click on the banner to go back to the main page. Also, some skins were lacking the gender display in people's posts, that's added now.

Avatars and Profile Picture
Everyone's avatars should be working fine. However, if you changed your avatar in the couple days before the forum went down, your avatar might not be working. There was a problem with the avatars, which is now fixed. So just go and change your avatar again if it's not working.

I removed the profile pictures, which I thought was kinda useless. If you don't know what that is, it was just an image like an avatar, but only seen when you go to a person's profile. You already see the person's avatar in the profile, so having a profile picture is not really necessary. And besides, that means quicker loading times for profiles.

And...
And finally, I just want to apologize for the forum's down time. The transfer to the new server took longer than I expected. And the things I needed to fix after the transfer and upgrade took me a while to do.

Yay, we're back! The only thing different I can find is, I use the skin call'd "Default style" (sorry, jest can't change :oops: ), it use to have Pokemon on all the posting buttons, and there jest the plains ones now :tongue: . Also the post typing box is a different color (doesn't bother me but maybe others).

Downtime shouldn't be a problem, the server the forum moved to is the same server the website has been on, and the website's uptime has been reliable.

Just an update, I forgot the increase size and decrease size images in the custom skins, that allow you to increase/decrease the size of the post text box, so that's added back in. Also, the spell check image as well. All of those new features are on the top right of the text box area.

Those features have been in all along in the 3.5.0 upgrade, was just lacking the images for them :oops: .

Everything follows the exact same layout too, as far as the links, boards, and all. I won't have to spend much time getting used to everything like when we switched from ProBoards. That was weird. :oops:

Were you thinking about including little Pokemon icons next to the board titles to replace the Napster-like ones that are already there for later on? I also miss those cool buttons. Oh well, whatever you decide to do is cool with me... you're the boss. :wink:
