I was just curious...do you use Paint, Photoshop, or something else? o:
AND MAKING YOUR SPRITE TRANSPARENT SO DOESN'T COUNT. I use Photoshop for that, but for the actual spriting, I use Paint. :D
I use Paint. :3

I use Ms Paint.
I want to know how to use Ps to sprite, too.
But I use Ps 6 years ago, I've forgotten what to do. Besides, I don't really know how to apply effects.

I use paint.net (windows only) a free editing software its pretty simple, its like ms paint but more in depth. be aware when you download it, it replaces ms paint(it did for me atleast).

Obviously GraphicsGale, it's FREE and when you get used to it you'll never want another stupid program not made particularly for spriting.

If you do dislike it, my 2nd choice in line would be Cosmigo ProMotion

I use Photoshop only when I make pixel-overs, or when I need to make the background transparent, or when I need to index a sprite. xD I use Paint for everything else, because I find it easier to sprite with that program~ :3

I use Photoshop. It takes two seconds to do a recolour. xD
But it's also good for scratches/pixel overs, making the background transparent and animation as well!

When I used to, I used MS Paint and GIMP. Lately I've only used MS Paint for the few I do.

Paint; I honestly see of feel no need to use anything technical for pixel art...not even Graphics Gale. No, I've just learned to improvise, really.
I use my Photoshop CS5 in case I ever need to set opacity percentage of a color (i.e.: windows and the like in isometric pixel art.) or for transparency, but that's really about it....*shrug*
