Hello! Welcome to my thread devoted to all of my drawings. It would mean alot to me if you please respected my art and added some commentary to your posts. Please do not flame my pieces, though you may give tips on to how I can improve my pictures. Thank you.

SUBMITION 1:

Name: Sorrow's of Defeat...
Description: Ash has just lost one of his battles, and he is releasing his sorrows through a stream of tears.
Time: Unknown

Artist's Perception:
Rating: 7.5/10
Reason: I tried to give this picture of Ash a sense of CG art (I think that is what the style is called...) with the thick, point lines. It looks awkward in some parts, though the overall effect is nice. the tears are a simple glitter brush, adding a sense of anime tears... The shading in some parts are bad, but is is good enough.

I always wondered...what are those lines under his eyes? Did he get messed up while trying to get a Hairy Pothead "scar" or is he always tired?
I dunno what its officially called either, but I call it GOOD.

Hmmmm well... If I'm being honest I don't like the style very much... With the thick and thin lines. I think it would have been way better in normal anime style... But I guess that's just me :ermm:
Other from that.... I love it ^^ The tears are really realistic. The expression on his face looks almost like real. But only the shape of his head I don't like... But I guess that's also a part of the style
8.5/10  Still VERY good

9.9/10. Very good. Only problem is..his neck looks a little crooked. Overall, very good.
very good. VERY good, although there are a few lil'things. e.g. his mouth. the shape is ok, if it werew normal lines, but these are thick and thin, which makes it look odd. and Evanna has a point about the neck, and i think it's because the hair is a bit too close to his face (the hairpart under the ear)
I think it's great that you tried this style! what program did you use and do you own a tablet?
btw, the shading looks fine!

Name: Goddess of the Sea
Description: Lugia grins eagerly as she spots something interesting under the sea!

I [Heart] The ocean background, with the lines that are artificial sunrays breaking the waters serface... over all, this was a pretty good image IMO... not much I can comment on it about... though the outline of Lugia is alittle blurry... though I wanted that effect because it is under watter ^^;

I like it very much, as you said, the outline is ye, a bit 'less'. But i like the colors, nice model, good face, good proportions. And the nice font completes the look, good job. But it's just maybe a tad less then it should be. I'm being harsh, i know, but i'm really being serious about my comment.

WOW! No Comment... I like this one the best so far. She looks sort of three-dimentional. And I just love her Aura

I'm trying to be constructive but... your art looks fake... like you used special effects from the program. It just looks like you made all the stars and everything from the program, and you didn't really draw them or the shining aura or clouds in the back ground. On all of the drawings the lines seem kind of shaky like you don't have steady hand or something. I'm trying to be constructive here, but like I said, it just doesn't look like you're doing it, but you're using special effects. I would just stop using a bunch of effects, that's all, and make your lines less... wobbley.

Yes, he DID use special effects from PHOTOSHOP. That's what it was made for, duh. To add SPECIAL EFFECTS to your art work.

Well exactly! -_- Look at my banner..... Yup. Those stars in my banner are the same stars that you can see in his Serebii drawing and those tears that are coming from Ash's eyes. You know why? Because Photoshop IS the the only freakin' way to add those stars! How else? You expect us to draw them by pixels? lol  And yes, he DID make that background. With the tools that PS gives you. First he made those slight white brushes, then he used Radial Blur to make it seem like the spots are coming toward you. Photoshop WAS made to make designing simpler, but he did put effort into the background, alright?

-_- In the first Ash drawing he made it seem a little square for a reason. It's.. just the style of that pic.
In the second one with Lugia, it's taking place underwater, so he tried to make it seem like it really was underwater by adding that effect.
In the last one... I really don't see where you find it "shaky"
I'm trying to be constructive here, but like I said, it just doesn't look like you're doing it, but you're using special effects. I would just stop using a bunch of effects...
I want you to draw the same image of Serebii... without using any effects, right now..... See? That's practically impossible.

Steven... I'm sorry if the lines are wobbly... BUT IT IS FRIGGIN HARD TO DRAW WITH A MOUSE! There... 'nuff said... It will be alot better when I get a tablet... and I don't find much contructivism in your post... all you are doing is pointing out the bad points of my drawings... what about the good ones... now, be quiet unless you don't have ANY nice things to say...
Thank you Kenshin.

Impressive work, you have nice lineart and your shading skills are pretty good. However, I have to agree with Steven in that using "cheap" Photoshop effects makes a nice drawing look very unprofessional. Take the time to draw your own effects and I think your artwork will come out even nicer than it already is! ^_^ Please don't take this as an insult, I am just offering my suggestions. :3 I think your art is exceptional.

"Sorrow's Defeat" rocks! The coloring style you used was well done and the tear effect looked great. I wish I could use Photoshop.
