Intro

In the past, everyday new trainers would embark on their Pokemon journey. These journeys were a rite of passage that most young trainers undertook. The typical journey started with a youngster leaving home with a starter pokemon and bag filled with the essentials; the child would then head out into the wild to catch pokemon and work their way across their region. The ultimate goal of most young trainers was to make their way to the Pokemon League.

Some people saw these journey's as important tools to help young people reach maturity. Others found it barbaric to send such young children into the wild to fend for themselves - especially in a world filled with dangerous creatures. A hand-full of new trainer incidents were accepted by each generation. Most people felt these incidents were accidents that could have been avoided. This all changed with the disappearance of a young trainer five years ago.

After those events a great debate began. A simple question was raised, are pokemon journeys ethical. A council was convened, it consisted of the most important people from all across the globe. After a short meeting a unanimous decision was reached - the council would read their verdict on live television. No person under twenty five would be allowed to start a Pokemon Journey from that point on. The council explained that, due to the dangerous natures of wild pokemon and radical squads - like Team Rocket and Team Magma, the government could not promise the safety of any one person. They stated that they would look over the issue again in five years.

Five years have passed without incident. A declining number in the popularity of Pokemon League ratings and sales sparked up a new debate. A new council was formed, with sole purpose of fixing this decline in sales. The council agreed to the construction of a special school to be built; this school's purpose would be to prepare a group of young trainers to survive a full journey across Kanto without incident. Viridian City became the home of the first location - the creation of other schools depends solely on the outcome of a new group of trainers and how they do on their journey. The students have had two years of training and are now ready to start their journey. If their journey has a successful outcome, it would prove that, with proper training, children could protect themselves. The fate of all young trainers rest on this first group.

Goals
Build a strong relationship with your partners (Not every trainer class will get along, try to stay in character while learning about your new partners)
Building a strong team (In order to capture and train pokemon you need to add to the story for points, the more you put into the story the more points youll get)
Make your way to the Pokemon League (Do your best to solve the problems that lay ahead of you, so you are always moving forward as a team)

Rules/General Info
GCeA is a point based game, in the trivia sections members get points by simply posting. GCeA is meant to be a fun fast paced story game. With so many great writers I decided to make a more Role Play based game. While there will still be points given out the system has been compeletly changed for RP. Now players will earn points based on their story telling and creativity. Other major changes will include trainer classes and pokemon point values. These will limit your ability to catch every pokemon but it will allow more work with each of your pokemon. Please pick a trainer class carefully.

All PE2K rules
There is an 8 person limit to the game. If you become inactive you will lose your spot on the team.
For every 1000 characters you will receive a point. (this count should not include spaces)
Your character must be between 14 and 16 years old.
Make a Trainer Card (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3385035#post3385035) and keep it updated.
No god-moding
Please respect all players and their choices
Let's keep this around PG13. Violence, mild blood and gore, mild language, and romance are allowed, but anything that would be considered M rated must not be posted. Take that to the PMs if you must.
You can only have one character in the game.
No Pokemon can be added to your Trainer Card without approval from one of the two RPM.
This roleplay is a point game (the points will be given based on your post submission.)
You will have to a pick a trainer class, once that class is picked you can only capture pokemon that would fall under that class.
Other rules may be added later or are in the SU
All your question should be asked on the link posted. At no time should you break character. Please click on this link Gotta Catch Em' All Club (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118075)
Picking a starter is easy, a trainer can pick almost any pokemon that falls under his trainer class type. It has to be 1st gen and it has to be approved first

The most interesting item that Max has on him is a specialized Pokedex that wrap around his left arm. The machine covers an eight inch area from his wrist down. This Pokedex was created from a Porygon. Since its creation it has been updated to a Porygon z. This Porygon is not an active battling pokemon, instead it serves as a virtual intelligence. The small computer is capable of everything from battle strategies to a online global map. The Porygon is never taken off and has never been fully analyzed by anyone other then Max. Its true capabilities are mystery.

History:
On snowy night in the middle of January, a nursing station located outside of Agate Village was flooded with calls. After receiving calls about young pregnant the nurses made there way through the brutal storm. they had to trek up hill through two feet of snow to reach the secluded home. Once they reached the home they found the doors were locked. They could hardly see a thing through the frost covered windows. Using their pokemon they broke into the house to find the woman unconscious. The nurses revived the young woman but found that she was to weak to move, the young mother went into labor. After hours of struggling she collapsed, she survived long enough to look upon her baby. In her final words she named the baby Max. After his mothers passing he was sent to live with the town elders until his father's return from the war. Years passed before Max's dad and some of the other men returned home. When the men came back they were different. Max's father never recovered from the war or the lose or his young wife, he also never fully accepted Max into his life. Max was enrolled into specialized pokemon tracking school when his father returned to the war. He did not react well to being sent to the boarding school. He was often reprimanded for his lack of focus and inability to stay out of fights. When he was around the age of 12 he started devolving his mage abilities. Without the proper support from teachers he did not learn to control his powers. He became a danger to the community. His fathers disappearance in final months of the war would be the final straw. Without family to take care of him, Max saw no other options but to run away.

At the age of fourteen Max had made his way across Orre. With no real focus Max moved from place to place picking fights and catching pokemon. His first real test was a battle against Gonzap the leader of a local gang. After beating most of the Gonzap's team Max's team was taken out by Gonzap's last pokemon Metagross. The sight of Metagross caused Max terror. When Max first began his journey he found himself pinned against a group of Metogross. The lead male was giant beast with a huge gold x tried to killed him. Max couldn't help this fear and lost his focus which costed him the match. After his loss to Gonzap, Max joined the gang. Max's time with Team Snagem helped him learn to focus his powers and become a better battler. After a rouge trainer named Wes destoryed the Snagem facility, Max was sent after him. Max caught up to Wes shorty after that but was beaten in a battle and left stranded in the desert. Wes had joined the gang shortly before Max. The two did not get a long and were constantly fighting. Max continued to chase Wes throughout Orre. As the Shadow Pokemon story played out in Orre, Max found himself conflicted with Team Snagems goals and left. He however stayed on the trial of Wes seeking vengeance. Once Wes had defeated the Cipher Leader he disappeared. Months had passed and Max had finally tracked down Wes outside of Lilycove City. Wes had been using his machine to steal pokemon as he traveled the globe. Max waited until Wes had left the city limits and then confronted him. The two went at each other right away. This time the battle was more even. When Max had gotten control the match and was moments away from winning, Wes acted out of desperation and sent out a dangerous Pokemon. The giant grey Metagross from Max's childhood was sent out. It came out and attacked both Wes and Max. With a massive hyper beam Wes was knocked back and its pokeball was destoryed. The bull then turned on Max and chased him through the forest, Max nearly escaped. The enraged Metagross then went after a young traveler. With Wes still down, Max was forced to make a choice to either help the traveler or get Wes. He decided to help the traveler. Max found the young woman cornered with only her water pokemon protecting her and saved her. His battle with that Metagross would be a changing point for him. After defeating the creature he captured it. The young lady he saved turned out to be a Gym Leader Named Misty. For the next couple of years the two traveled together battling all over Hoenn. When Misty got called to Kanto, Max was left wondering alone.

By the age of twenty three, Max had made his way to Indigo League. After a couple of years training, Max had won the Indigo League Championship. With the addition of the Johto, and Hoenn Championships Max was asked to take over the as the official league Champion. Max turned the offer to continue on his journey. He instead choose to spend in Cerulean City before departing again into the wild. Five years would then pass before Max was seen again. He reappeared after the incident that shocked the world. With years of experience tracking pokemon, he decided to join a task force that was tasked with finding the child and returning him home. The task forces was unable to find any sign of the child and was shut down after six months of searching. Max having felt useless in finding the child went back into hiding.

At the age of 30, Max made headlines when he was filmed pulling a Moltres out of Mt. Ember on what looked like a parachute. Having suffered second degree burns on his arms Max was rushed to a hospital where he remained for a couple of days recovering. While in recovery he was visited by the only friend he had in his whole life, Misty. Shortly after there reunion, they were married right next to Mt. Ember. Max's capture of Moltres and marriage to a Gym Leader would make headlines. Max did not enjoy being part of any sort of spot light, soon he would find all of his legendary captures would be written about. While most of the information was never confirmed, the general idea was that Max had a special place Kanto where all of his legendary pokemon would go. After getting married Max was able to stop wondering the globe. He would spend the next few years with his wife, learning to focus his powers and relax. Max had found happiness.

At the age of 33, he was approached by the heads of the famous Pokemon Council about teaching new trainers in special school. With Max already working in Viridian City it would work but the offer conflicted with his current job. Viridian City would allow him to keep his job while he was away. He was hesitant about leaving but Misty's encouragement helped him take the next step. Max was hired on for his ability to survive in any environment. While the bulk of his time was spent with the younger mage class and teaching special class about tracking, Max was given the honor to help this first group "The Kanto 9" on their journey.

Start Pokemon:When Max a small child he received a damaged pokeball. This pokeball had two pokeballs melted together. Inside the damaged double ball were two eevees, they had survived a vicious attack. The owner discarded the eevees because they were small than the rest of the litter. Max would paint a Sun and a Moon on the double ball to represent the two completely different personalities. The bigger of the two, Moon, could take just about any hit and get back up. While Moon wasn't very fast he made up for this with resilience. Sun the smaller of the two was more curious and friendly. She was super fast on her feet. The two pokemon did everything together. They even evolved at the same time in Solar Eclipse.

Other:(The watch he wears is a Porygon Z, other pokemon from outside might make appearances. )

Eti Molo's Sign Up:

Basic Character Information
Name: Eti Molo
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Starter Pokemon: Poliwag (Nickname: Helix | Gender: Male | History: Given to Eti by Boaba at the request of Eti’s dying father [see 'History' section below].)

Trainer Information:
Class: Ace Trainer (Elemental type chosen: Water)
Specializations: Knowledge of many different types of Pokemon. Close ties with Gary Oak.

Appearance:

http://i49.tinypic.com/2s5xs3a.png
In correspondence with the above:
Hair: Light brown
Eyes: Blue
Skin: Pale white
Jacket: Deep blue
Shirt: Black
Jeans: Light blue

Personality:
Eti is known for being unconfident and somewhat reclusive. He does not have much belief in his abilities, but tries his best regardless. He dislikes most human contact, although really warms to people of similar thinking. He is often quick to make decisions, and this usually lands him into trouble. Because of this, he is now hesitant when it comes to helping people and Pokemon; he considers that it is one thing putting himself in danger, but another, much more unrespectable thing to put others in danger. He has a thirst for knowledge and new information, and this thirst is often his drive and will take him to considerable lengths to complete a task. He dons a unique sense of humour, much to the disdain of other people, and as a result is not very well liked socially. However, he strives to do the right and admirable thing. He has a severe hatred of Spearow and Fearow.

History:
Eti Molo was born on the 16th April, 16 years ago. He was born in the St Kadabra hospital of Saffron City, which has since been closed. Eti moved to Viridian City at a young age. He is the son of a librarian father and a book-writing mother, although since his birth his parents have gotten divorced. This caused Eti to be mocked by his peers after his father won custody and his mother moved away to the Johto region, with remarks such as “No Mom Molo” arising, as most other kids of Viridian had two parents and this was seen as the norm. He hasn’t seen or heard from his mother since. He began normal schooling at the age of 5. When Eti was 9 years old, the disappearance of a young trainer sparked debate throughout much of the Pokemon world, and a new law was enforced stating that a trainer must be 25 years old to travel with Pokemon; this scuppered Eti’s plans of becoming a trainer at the usual age of 10. Sadly, when Eti turned 13, his father was attacked by a flock of Fearow as he took a business trip to the Safari Zone at Fuschia City. He was sent to hospital, but was so brutally savaged that he perished. As he was dying, his father requested that the park warden at Fuschia City, Baoba, give Eti a Pokemon to remember him by. He selected a Poliwag, which was found in the Safari Zone. Due to this, the Poliwag is contained in a Safari Ball. The bond between Eti and this Poliwag is incredibly strong; it was the only thing Eti had left to connect with his father. The now parentless Eti moved to Pallet Town to reside with his uncle. Upon the announcement that a special school for young trainers was to be opened when Eti was 14 years old, Eti was selected as one of the candidates for the council’s young trainers program. He was immediately enrolled into the school, much to his uncle’s delight. Now, two years later at 16 years old, Eti is close to finishing his education with the special school and is about to go out on his journey with his peers.

When Eti was 3 years old, the disappearance of a young trainer sparked debate throughout much of the Pokemon world, and a new law was enforced stating that a trainer must be 25 years old to travel with Pokemon; this scuppered Eti’s plans of becoming a trainer at the usual age of 10. He began normal schooling at the age of 5.

As an Aerial Artist~

Name: Shay Miru
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Class: Aerial Artist
Specializations: Shay has incredible improvisations skills and has a natural skill for being an adept and hard to beat battler. Her tactical skills coupled with her fast thinking make her a trainer that many are unable to beat. Due to her being what people would call a train-aholic, she knows how to survive in the wilderness and live off the land. Shay spends more time with Pokemon than people, therefore understands them far better than her own kind.
Appearance: This picture belongs to me. Steal and die.
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t100/Saraibre/ShayEarlyMonochrome.png
Shay stands at 5’6, weights around 120 pounds. A young female athletic body is hidden under a slate grey hoodie that seems just too big for her [the sleeves can zip off for a vest, and black slacks with a single white line down the sides of the leg. Even wearing a hood, she wears a faded teal Gatsby hat with a blue tie around it on her head. Her skin is slightly tan, despite the heavy clothing, and is quite the looker in past male views. Her face is calm and flawless, greyish blue eyes seem to glow under her shaded face, giving her that enigmatic ambiance. Should she not be wearing her sweater, underneath is a carmine, form fitting tank top with rune-like markings all over it in a dull red that is just a few shades from the carmine it’s printed on. The popular choices of black fingerless gloves and wrist bands to match are also part of her swag.

Accessory wise, Shay only has two things: a back pack, and a necklace. The backpack is a new medium sized school bag. The necklace is a simple silver chain and a trinket as its main centre piece. A pewter S in the shape of a general dragon.

Personality: Shay has grown away from people, and therefore isn’t much of a people person anymore. She acts seemingly cold and arrogant at a first impression, sometimes even ignorant to the person as well; however she isn’t truly like that at heart. Inside is a caring person, though seems to care more for Pokémon than human beings, and won’t hesitate to help someone in need. This impulsiveness however is often followed with her commenting something along the lines of incompetence towards the person she just helped. Her lack of socializing with other people has worn away at her ability to properly talk to a person in most cases, sometimes leaving her to outburst angrily at someone when they poke at something personal either about her or her past. This may also grow to violent tendencies where Shay is not afraid to pin someone up against a wall to get someone off of her back about something, or even someone else’s if they dare go that far. Even with that Shay tries to remain as cool and collected as possible at all times, even giving the false hint that she doesn’t care about what others may think.

Underneath the hardened exterior is a very loving person who is incredibly loyal and selfless and would give up her life for a dear friend, though those kinds of friends she does not have many of. Shay isn’t one to talk about herself, and it is incredibly hard to get her to do so. She often feels awkward talking about herself if put in the situation, as it makes her feel self centered and attention hungry. She often distances herself from other people to prevent this sort of interaction and won’t hesitate to do some odd or crazy things to maintain this distance. This applies to her fantastic battling skill, applying and any every possible option to come out victorious or to make an escape. Though she thinks of any and every option to gain a victory in battle, she will not use dishonorable tactics, or fight dirty. However, if it’s her fighting another person, it’s a slightly different story.

Overall Shay is a person that is hard to gain the trust of, but when you do, she makes a wonderful ally. If you don’t though, she makes an incredibly worse enemy.

History: Shay was born in raised in an off-the-beaten-path ranch in Johto by her two parents. As an only child that was mostly home schooled and raised around Pokemon, Shay learned to love them as people, rather than know how to interact with people themselves, aside from her parents. The ranch was more of a hatchery, where Pokemon were bred and kept in good care. Pokemon eggs, either found or dropped off due to being found of that a person couldn't care for it, we also taken care of here. Shay quickly grew an understanding for Pokemon, and learned how to battle with them at a young age. Her parent's Pokemon often battled for her, rather than Shay having her own. This is where she got her skills as a battler and started to learn ways of quick thinking and making the best use of impulsive action, learning various Pokemon's weaknesses and strong points, and adapting a battling style surrounded in improvisation combined with skill. As shay grew oler, she wandered around Johto with her parents, sometimes visiting what she always remembered as the valley of Charizards. She loved the orange dragon's so much, often wishing for her own. One day on a visit to the Charicific Valley, Shay was sent on a hike on her own, with her parent's Gardevoir and Torterra. As Shay rode on the giant turtle's back, enjoying the shade of the tree, she stumbled upon something odd, caught in the rocks of a nearby stream. Curiousity took over and she saw that the object was a Pokemon egg, an orange one that seemed just a bit faded. The girl took it with her on her travels and when she returned, showed it to her parents and immediately asked if she could keep it, as if she had found a lost Growlithe. Her parents were Pokemon egg experts, and noticed that it was a faded Charmander egg. Why it was found in a stream only meant it was rejected for some reason or another, and how their Gardevoir acted when it tried to sense anything particular about the egg confirmed it wasn't a normal egg. Never one to abandon potential life, Shay's parents let her keep the egg as they returned home to Blackthorn. As time went on, and with very vigilant and critical care that Shay gave the egg, it eventually hatched into a Charmander, much to her happiness. However, upon looking at the charmander, she noticed it was golden, rather than the usual orange, and a bit smaller than the average scale of a newborn Charmander. Her parent's hadn't seen a golden Charmander before, though it appeared to be healthy for the most part. Shay loved the Charmander dearly and took the greatest care of her, naming her Asharas and finally becoming a proper Pokemon trainer. As years went on, the two became inseperable, however as Shay got older, it was apparent to her parents that she had not much contact with other kids, even those her age. It was then they decided to spend a few years on Kanto, where Shay was given the chance to take on the league her parent's first attempted: Indigo Plateau. Though now a teenager, still having Asharas as a Charmander, she didn't like the idea at first, but she figured it would be a good way to become a better trainer by seeing how her parents started out. Battling she knew was her strong point, though socializing, was not.
Start Pokemon: Asharas, a female shiny Charmander
Obtained: Hatched from an egg found on a hike, see history for more details.

Name: Markus Novolos
Gender: He's a boy.
Age: 15
Class: Fire Spinner
Specializations: He's incredibly used to harsh living conditions and being near heat sources. He can live off of grass. Not joking.

Appearance: Aside from his well-developed muscles, Markus looks INCREDIBLY similar to Red (The dude from the picture up top) in his build (well, an older version: He's about 5-foot-5 and 110 pounds). However, he's got blonde hair, blonde hair that's almost white in appearance (Unless you're close enough to notice the difference). There's also the strikingly piercing dark crimson in his eyes. He wears a black hoodie with a diagonal red stripe running across from his right shoulder to his left hip, with a smaller purple stripe above it running parallel to the red stripe. He wears dark navy jeans, as well. He wears hiking boots 24/7, which are brown. He usually carries his Pokemon on his belt (LIKE ANYONE ELSE WITH A HEAD DOES), but he also puts some he doesn't use as much in his shoulder bag (That shares the pattern of his hoodie, for any interested). Said bag seems to be able to carry a c**pton of stuff. Also on his belt is his survival knife. He also keeps a lighter in his pocket. He knows how to use it, too. He isn't a Fire Spinner for nothing!

Personality: He's harder to piss off than you'd guess, for a Fire Spinner anyways. Just don't be an utter idiot with zero common sense, don't mention parental relations for too long(not even his-say anything about your mom and dad and it counts), and DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, CALL HIM WEAK. The last one in particular is grounds for him to immediately take out his Pokemon and order it to attack (and possibly kill) you. Constant annoyance shall also be met violently, though thankfully it usually stops at an angry rant at the offender, and not outright attempting to murder the poor guy. However, don't be fooled: If his temper isn't prodded, he can become an excellent trainer to have around: he has a brave heart, an excellent tolerance of pain and hunger, a semi-charismatic nature (even when angry, he's usually got a point), and can usually keep rather upbeat, all if evading his anger. And of course, those muscles aren't for show.

In school, he's had good grades (Bs and Cs, with the rare A popping up now and then), and Sabrina, one of the best students in her time (All A's in almost all classes, B+ on the two classes she 'struggled' in, honor roll, valedictorian, so on and so forth), had nothing but criticism for it. He was a decent Pokemon Battler with his Pokemon (Loses 35% of the time, wins the other 65%), and Sabrina, a bad*** Pokemon battler (who could kick your a** with an Abra in her teenage years) had little but cricicism for it (though Markus did, through mostly sheer luck in getting a load of critical hits, conquer one of Sabrina's tougher Pokemon with Epic, who had serious type disadvantage). Sabrina has pressured Markus into tapping into some latent Psychic abilities he's had, but Markus has more or less proven that they are very latant (not going to come out until his thirties). In short, Markus hates Sabrina with a passion. Harold's a much better dude, but he's not really able to support anyone other than himself nowaways, so Markus is stuck with Sabrina (Unless Harold wins the lottery).

There's also his dislike of luck. See, he doesn't care when HE gets the lucky crits, but when his opponent does and wins, he will be theroughly pissed and call the whole match a luck-based one. He is kind of right. He usually doesn't note luck as a factor in his sucess either.

History: Markus was born to unknown parents in Cinnibar Island. Duh, this place was a heat zone. However, his parents mysteriously got murdered at the age of ten. It was in the dark, so poor Markus couldn't see it, but he definitely was old enough for him to know what happened wasn't pretty. Many people credit it to an uncaught mass-murderer with a knack for killing off anyone related to politics (Markus'es dad was a well-respected Kanto Senator and held a high rank within the International Police before his son was born). Needless to say, that impacted him greatly. What was once a rather easygoing guy turned harsh and angry, and he would not hesitate to take the first steps in further self-defense. His father willed him a Nidoran M, one he would name Epic, and by arming himself with a Knife, he felt it was his duty to track down the murderer. However, that never came to pass-the murderer mysteriously vanished, never to be heard of again, never to be caught.

Obviously as well, the more responsible and wealthy of his two other relatives (the lesser of the two options being the unemployed and retired Pokemon Champion, his uncle Harold Litunski), Sabrina Novolos (YES, THAT'S THE GYM LEADER SABRINA. DEAL WITH IT), got custody of Markus, and she was quite cold despite the death of her brother and the drastic change Markus just wound up going through. His anger wasn’t met with tolerance, and she immediately tried to kick him into a more cool state of mind (it backfired to the point where any mention of his parents would result in Markus punching the lights out of whoever dared mention it) Her mental ability to dig into poor Markus'es mind didn't help Markus adjust, albeit it did teach him a thing or two on mental protection. Her rather brutal nature did not help Markus develop in any way, shape or form, and Harold Litunski, the uncle, had verbally assaulted Sabrina over her utter failure to raise him. The fact he was going through puberty through his latter stages was her justification for his bad behavior, but Harold knew better-He got a job and started working again in an attempt to take custody over Markus, which, although got Markus closer to his distant uncle, failed nevertheless. Markus was-and still is-vying to kick her rear end into the dirt and bury it there.

Harold, despite his shortcoming in claiming his nephew, did land Markus an invitation to an ‘event’ of sorts: a letter from the school that would restart long debates about a year-long decision made long ago, to prevent trainers from leaving home until 25. Sabrina was happy to send the irritant off, though was none too pleased to realize his good results could mean that Pokemon Trainers from the ages of 10 could be sent to her Gym again, something she hates. Markus did immediately better on all fronts the instant Sabrina was out of the equation, something that made Harold smile and Sabrina curse under her breath over (why wasn’t she a good guardian?!). Markus was thankful Sabrina didn't make too many visits either, though the ones she did weren't fun ones. In a lucky stroke (one neither side would admit to) Sabrina was embarrassed thoroughly (Or pissed off royally) when she attempted to put Markus in his place after another argument- in that instance, she wound up losing one of her better Pokémon to a Basic Pokémon like a Nidoran M, especially since she's a hater of such things as luck. That much is a family trait. However, Markus immediately gloated, Harold used that as a point that Sabrina was never doing well, and Sabrina herself was getting a few gray hairs at this point, and not out of age.

When the news arrived-that he was chosen to go on the adventure around Kanto to overthrow a 5-year decision on Pokemon Training at a young age, well, he was pleased, to say the least. Sabrina, albeit loathing of the idea (she liked the absolute lack of immature trainers that came her way), was nevertheless compliant with letting him go on the adventure-though she wants to beat Markus in such a manner that he refuses to infuriate her ever again. Harold himself feels that this will never happen, though Sabrina still has to, so she might as well crush the guy. Markus himself is looking to make himself so utterly strong, nobody, not even Sabrina, not even the Champion, heck, not even Arceus and the Legendary Pokémon could stop him. He’s dead-set on proving himself right to Sabrina, most of all, because if he proves she’s no good, well, it would do quite a bit.

Starter Pokémon: Nidoran M, AKA Epic, given by his dad's will. It's kicked the rear of Sabrina's Mr. Mime, something she considers to be one of her stronger Pokes. Then again, that was because of a load of lucky critical hits, but that hasn't stopped Markus from getting cocky (at times).

Other: He names ALL of his Pokémon after either Video Games, or Video Game Companies. He's got a thing for them. He's also really good at video games, too. Also...If you set him off particularly bad, he won’t just be angry, he'll be 'stabby.' That knife of his is really noticeable during these times. On one last note, Harold lives in Celadon city, and is so good at Pokémon Training, no Pokémon he owns is incapable of putting up a fight that would make the likes of Mewtwo and Arceus struggle. And yes, Sabrina is his Aunt.

Don't worry, I WILL stick to this. RPing isn't all that affected by my slight case of online ADD. Oh, and may I reserve a Defensive Master, please? RPM Only means for the role-play only, right? Just making sure.

And a sign-up, so I won't have to do it later xD

Name: Nekku Izayoi
Gender: Male, derp.
Age: 15
Class: Defensive Master
Specializations: Well, Nekku sorta knows his ways around the towns, cities, etc.
Appearance: (Bad sprite time! xD) http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd438/VelocityQ/NekkuAndHitmon.jpg
Personality: Well, like all Defensive Masters, Nekku isn't very talkative. But, he is considered the most talkative of them, surprisingly. He's very nice, once you get to know him, and is aggressive when it comes to protecting his group, family, and friends. For battling, he uses Hitmon (His Hitmonlee) for defensive moves, which is unusual because Hitmonlee are generally for attacking. But, he also uses a wide array of offensive moves. Back to Nekku. He sticks to using stats that raise defense and offense with his Pokemon and strikes when the opponent least's expects it. He uses his Pokemon in the most creative way possible.
History: When Nekku was young, he thought he would become an Earth Trainer when he grew up. That was until he saw a very rare red Dratini that was being hunted by Pokemon poachers. He protected the Dratini from the poachers and threatened to defeat them and wipe them off of the face of Johto with his Tyroge. They laughed, but he managed to defeat them, and the poachers were never seen again in Johto. After that, he swore that he would become a Defensive Master when he became older.
Start Pokemon: Hitmon/Hitmonlee/Male (Received from father as a Tyroge when Nekku was young)
Other: Nekku wears a large "D" to symbolize that he is a Defensive Master. He hopes he will find that red Dratini again someday. Oh, yeah, like mentioned above, Nekku was born in Johto, then his parents moved to Kanto with him when he was eight.

**Hope I will be accepted xD**

Remember these things are PG. So stabbing or excessive violence are against the rules of the Role Plays. Also remember this journey involves just you, at no time can uber pokemon be given to you. Also as a side note this story takes place more then 20 years after "Ash" would have started his journey. Which means most of the gym leaders have changed.

Last everyone, as far as legends go, most people dont know about them which includes your characters.. They should be something that you find out about. Remember your between 14-16 and outside of your own region most pokemon are unknown.

Welcome to the team

Name: Xiac Kanoshi

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Class: Water Specialist

Appearance: http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz87/Sealboyno1/th_XiacandSlick.png

Personality: Overall, Xiac is a laid-back and easy-going guy. Naturally calm and relaxed, he is able to think clearly in most situations. Xiac is also kind-hearted and generous - his intentions always for the good. He may seem careless to some, but he's a genius on the battlefield - carefully planning each and every move, Xiac seems to act as cool as a professional when it comes to battling. Although this is not actually so, it helps to keep his opponent on their toes and unaware of his lack in experience.

Xiac has but one issue when socialising – he cannot talk to girls. When the moment calls for it, his face will go bright red, he'll look to the ground, poke his fingers together and mumble excessively. This is not the case during battles, due to the fact that he is so focused on the task at hand that he simply forgets he's battling a female.

History: Coming from Pacifidlog Town (located within the Hoenn Region), Xiac has no fear, nor any issues, with water. He grew up in the town and lived a normal life with a normal family.

His story, however, wasn't entirely enjoyable. His “friends” (or peers, as he liked to call them) mocked and teased him for wanting to become a Pokemon Master – they had all but given up hope in becoming big in the world, opting for the professions of Doctors or Shop Keepers and such. They secluded him from games as children, bullied him through his teenage years and so on. He never detested them, he simply understood their neglect – those that were different were always isolated from the general group.

Slick came into his life later on – his first ever Pokemon. Xiac stumbled across him when exploring around his town – an attempt to escape from the shunning of his peers. He noticed a Psyduck being neglected by a group of Golduck and, when trying to make the attempt of joining in with the group, was knocked back by the hand of one of the large, blue creatures. The Psyduck floated towards the log that Xiac was standing upon, bumping its head upon the bobbing object. Kneeling down, Xiac pulled him out of the water, gently, and brushed the duck down. The creature was confused by this act of kindness, but then busied itself with watching the group of Golducks spar with one another. It whined quietly, and Xiac knew what was wrong.

“You want to be accepted by them, right? You want to be strong,” he inquired. The reply given was a long, nasal “Psssssssyyyyy”. Placing out his hand, he made the small, yellow Pokemon a deal,

“If you help me become a Pokemon Champion, I'll help to make you strong,” and, upon the handshake of both, their journey began together.

When hearing of the Pokemon School located in Viridian City (within the Kanto Region) Xiac was ecstatic – he had this one opportunity to live out his dream. After the careful persuasion applied to his parents, Xiac found himself on the next ship to Kanto with his new-found friend “Slick” - his Psyduck. From there, at the age of 14, Xiac studied at the school – harder than any other studies he's had to do in his life.

Upon reaching the age of 16, he was chosen to be one of the first to set out on an adventure throughout Kanto; both he and Slick were excited for this opportunity. During the school's studies, Xiac never made the attempt to befriend anybody – only busying himself with the learning he needed. Although nobody ever really spoke to him, he was often questioned as to why Slick was never in a Pokeball. Due to the fact that the two were bonded by a deal, Xiac thought it unfair to keep the small duck-like Pokemon within the device – he felt as if he had no right to.

Start Pokemon: Slick (Psyduck) M - acquired through mutual agreement (see History for more details)

Other: I dislike writing Histories - I struggle a 'lil bit. This won't be top quality, but I assure you that my RPing is decent (or amazing if you want to make me look awesome :D)

A few questions about movesets...

Are they going to be limited to the Yellow move lists or can we use any move they could of possibly learned in any game? Is the move system more game based or going to be more anime based?

Its going to be more anime based, but you wont start off knowing every move. Id say you should just add moves as the story goes on.

I don't think you can sign up for Dark Mage anymore; we already have one and there's only one trainer per trainer class. You could sign up for Earth Trainer, Ace Trainer Fire or Ace Trainer Grass, though?

Personality: Overall, Xiac is a laid-back and easy-going guy. At first glance he seems rash and hyperactive, giving off the impression that he's the kind of person that doesn't think before he acts. Generally, this is true – however, he turns into a completely different person when participating within a Pokemon battle. In these instances, he takes his time with moves, plans effectively and tries to figure out how his opponent plays – making him look highly intelligent and down-to-earth.

Xiac has but one issue when socialising – he cannot talk to girls. When the moment calls for it, his face will go bright red, he'll look to the ground, poke his fingers together and mumble excessively. you have access to all moves a pokemon would get in any game, but you wont start out with every move. It would be like in the game you can add moves as time goes on. we can add move tutor people in the story if you guys want that, but the moves play little to no part in the story. the story of your battles and what you did are all that matter..

Name: Eli Conner
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Class: Earth Trainer
Specializations: No powers, just lil’ ol’ me.

Appearance: Eli is not what you’d expect the son of a dock worker to look like. Instead of being a burly, mass of muscle with no neck, Eli inherited heavily from his mother’s end of the gene pool. Eli is one of the shortest kids in his class, and is so frail that a slight breeze will knock him over. His baggy sweatshirts conceal a frame comparable to that of a twig, and his faded blue jeans do the same for his knobby knees. Even with the hood up, Eli’s piercing green eyes can be seen, but it does a spectacular job of hiding his mop of dirty blond hair, another gift from his mother. As you might have guessed from all the unassuming clothing, Eli is well-versed in blending into the background, a survival skill you learn early on as the runt. Even some of his friends have trouble remembering if Eli was present at an event or not.

Personality: Eli Conner does not want to make a fuss, or really be noticed in any way whatsoever. After all, most of the attention he’s gotten in the past has been negative in the teasing, wedgie, and swirly vein. But just because he likes to stay out of the spotlight doesn’t mean that Eli is completely unaware of others. Actually his history with tormentors and unassuming attitude has allowed him to be an excellent observer of others. Eli is very empathic, although this talent isn’t often applied to the extent of say, a conversation with someone. But under the shy exterior, there is a stubborn, strong part of Eli. The main reason Eli wants to become a Pokemon trainer is to get away from the depressing life he has now and try to find his own path in the world, preferably one that can support his aging father.

History: As one could guess from the marriage of a high school drop out and a dock hand, Eli’s parents didn’t have an easy relationship. After Eli was born, his dad, Jacob, had to start working longer hours and doing more questionable jobs with the Vermillion City mob. One night, when Eli wasn’t more than four, he was waiting with his mother at the bus stop for his father when it started to rain. Not wanting to give up on her husband in front of their son, Sheryl insisted that they wait for him even as the minutes turned to hours. As bus after bus passed them, the rain began to fall. Still, Eli’s mother refused to stop having faith. She wrapped her son in her coat and took the downpour with her head held high. Half an hour later, Jacob showed up and they walked home under the cover of the man’s leather duster. But the damage was already done, both Eli and his mother had developed pneumonia, but because of Sheryl giving him her coat, the little boy made it through, suffering for only a few weeks before recovering. His mother was not so lucky.

After Sheryl died, the hospital bills nearly finished off the rest of the Conners. But Jacob took on more jobs, and once he turned ten, Eli tried to help out. But even though he had heard about other boys getting jobs at the docks, nobody wanted a runt like Eli. Frustrated, Eli tried begging for a chance to prove himself, but it was all for naught. Desperate, on his way home, Eli snatched a tourist’s purse off of her chair while she enjoyed one of the few restaurants in the part of Vermillion with the nerve to call itself a café. Less than a block later, Eli was overcome with guilt and walked into an alley to throw up. After a bit of retching, Eli tried to find the woman to return the bag, but she was gone. Eli silently put the purse back on her chair and ran home, refusing to look back, refusing to believe anything except that she had come back and retrieved what he had taken.

Two years later, Eli’s dad told him that he saved enough money to send his son to Viridian in order to become a Pokemon Trainer. Eli promised his dad that he would make him proud and would send home money so that Jacob could live an easier life.

Starter Pokemon: Meister the Machop
Eli met his Machop a few weeks after the purse incident. A couple of boys were threatening to drop Eli in a trashcan when a worker’s Machop stumbled upon them. Adolescent males proved to be no challenge for the muscular Pokemon. After sending them running, Eli took the Machop back to his owner. He tried to thank the man, but he just waved the kid and Pokemon away, muttering that a Pokemon who wandered off during a job was of no use to him.

Other: I hope this is an acceptable interpretation of what an Earth Trainer is.

Name: Leah Reed

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Class: Ace Trainer (Fire)

Specializations: Being an Ace Trainer, Leah is well-acquainted with the subject of Pokémon. She’s also a good photographer, which will serve her well in documenting her findings.

Appearance: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/a/a5/GenILass.png

No joke, Leah looks quite like the typical member of the Lass class. However, there are key differences worth noting. Her outfit has a very Japanese school uniform look, with a short red plaid skirt and a crisp white shirt. The sleeves of said top are bordered with the same shade prominent in the skirt, and a matching neckerchief completes the look. To avoid any awkward situations, however, the girl has chosen to wear black tights, which reach down to her chocolate brown loafers. Most of her clothing has the same academic look, with nearly identical colours.

As for physical features, the girl has very light blonde hair. None of that golden stuff that litters fairly tales, her locks are much closer to white. They are thick and reach down past her shoulders, never to be tied in any way. A wispy chunk of bang falls dead between her haze coloured almond eyes.

In terms of accessories, Leah wears a silver watch around her right wrist. She also has pearl earings and a large satchel matching her shoes.

Personality: When picturing the stereotypical persona of a fire-type trainer, Leah is defiantly not the first character to come to mind. Out-spoken, energetic and confident aren’t accurate adjectives to describe her, not in the slightest. In fact, the girl is more of an observer then a speaker, rarely being the one to begin a conversation. She will respond if spoken to, however, expect quick, impersonal replies. Her voice, although monotone would be stretching it, isn’t very emotive and it is difficult to gage any personal feelings from the tone used. Facial features a better bet, although a stranger would have a hard time using that as well. In short, Leah does not read like an open book, and is quite skilled at hiding emotions. Behind her mask of “meh” lies a weary perfectionist who is desperate for approval. Good luck prying that out…

Fitting the Ace Trainer, the girl is very knowledgeable and has an undying curiosity. Being left in the dark about information and happenings does not suit her, expect attempts to rectify this. As such, Leah can be seen as a determined, hard-working individual, the latter being especially true. She is very demanding of herself, sometimes going to the point of exhaustion while studying or researching. Of course, this being coupled with her perfectionist qualities make for a volatile combination…

As one may expect, Leah is not one to rush into situations. She feels more comfortable thinking her moves through, and is a horrible improviser. Her lying skills are weak, which is compensated with bare replies or pure silence. This makes claims of her honesty valid, as the girl rarely does try to weave tall tales, knowing it will more-likely-then-not fail. And, Leah detests personal failure, but is oddly excepting of it when it comes from others.

Her long love of fire Pokémon stems from pure envy, she does enjoy their passionate, energetic and confidant qualities. That may be linked to her own repressed status…

History: Trying to peg Leah’s behavior on her past… would be a very accurate genre savvy move. Much of her social issues do stem from the way she was brought up and the experiences lived through.

In reality, the problem started almost immediately. See, her father was education happy, having risen from poverty into the well off class by working hard, and wanted his child to pursue her studies seriously. Her maternal parent also had the same philosophy, but was more of perfectionist than anything else. Thus, Leah was raised in a very specific frame, to an alchemically successful child.

Indeed, Leah was a good student. But not up to the standards that had been set for her, and was often met with dissatisfaction. Her parents weren’t abusive, that must be mentioned, but they were strict and very hard to please. Time other kids spent socialising and having fun were pooled into study, which ended up costing her most chances to make friends.

A lack of proper social contact made, despite her fairly normal appearance, the girl a target for bullies. It wasn’t anything terribly harsh, but the consistency of the teasing ended up taking its toll. Leah learned how to craft a mask, and was able to hide her emotions behind the wall of indifference. Eventually, the other grew tired of the lack of response and moved on. The girl, on the other hand, without the encouragement to speak up, didn’t.

As she grew older, getting parental approval was slipping beyond her capabilities. They, especially her mother, began expecting more and more. Verbal aggression wasn’t uncommon, but didn’t escalate to anything authorities would consider abusive. Still, Leah tried to gain a supportive “good job,” but those words didn’t come.

Learning about Pokémon was pleasant, she’d have to admit. During her early teenage years, fire types became her favourite, and the girl grew more interested in the creatures.

She took up photography to cope with the growing familial and internal pressure, which ended up helping her compose the essay that got her accepted to the academy.
Leah was able to gain clearance to attend, but with much difficulty…

Thank you for the invite Judge. I'll be a while on the Dark mage. Most are Pokémon I don't usually use, but I did wanna try this RP out.

We can choose any starter on the list from the trainer type and then 1k points = 1 point for getting a new Pokémon right? Still would have to find it though, too.

About the trainer card. Do we have to be in the GCEA forum game to make one?

There is a five point limit and the exact details about the word count will be posted on the main on. its the last thing im working on.

Hmm five point limit? But said 1k characters is a point. Then there's no way to get new Pokémon during the RP without playing the forum game? The numbers under each are all over 5. Or you mean 5 point limit per post, not total ever?

I don't think Sabi would have a problem with it. Maybe?

lol sorry bad wording on my part. I meant to say 5 point limit per post. This game isnt meant to rp/game is meant to be tough in its own way. With there being a whole region to go through people will have enough time build up points before each catch.

Shorter sign ups being accepted is kinda refreshing in a way. Gonna take the X Pokemon because it seems those are unobtainable except by being a starter. It's still super short compared to what I usually do, although you did say short is fine. I wish I was feeling more inspired than this, but as of now this is the shortest sign up I've ever done. I'm sorry.

Name: Akira Hinomi
Gender: Female
Age: 15 and a half going on 16
Class: Dark Mage
Specializations: Weak Telepathy and Telekinesis, as per the trainer type
Appearance: http://tlchan.animeblogger.net/wp-images/TT/Katsura1.jpg
As a modification to the schoolgirl look, the shirt is a low cut U-neck with very visible skin in all the right places and she wears a blue-black cape down to her ankles
Personality: Akira is socially awkward and keeps to herself. She is shy, completely contrary to the way she dresses. When she does get to talking, she somehow manages to be sarcastic sometimes. She is often pessimistic and unsure of her abilities.
History: Akira was born to a family of Psychics. As a child she was able to move spoons, small objects, and guess with 60% accuracy what somebody would do.

In school she was bullied a lot because she was different. Not proficient with her abilities, she couldn't use them to defend herself against the many forms of abuse she suffered from the other children. She never really learned social skills or how to behave around others because whatever she did the kids would just throw things at her or stick her head in a toilet.

In high school the abuse pretty much ceased but Akira couldn't make friends or get to know people very well. Her parents taught her the ways of their little order of "mages" and she hoped she could eventually work up to getting back at the world for having mistreated her. If anybody tried to get on her bad side they would pay. Just as soon as she figured out how.

It wasn't until this experiment was announced that she even got a Gastly from her parents after being chosen for the trial.
Start Pokemon: Trixie the Gastly, Female.

Name: Persephone Silverton.
Gender: Female.
Age: 14.
Class: Ace Trainer of the Grass variety.
Specializations: Because of how much time she spends in nature, Persephone can very easily understand Pokemon. It's like they speak English to her.
Appearance: Persephone is very small and slim, and people constantly mistake her for younger than she is. Her green eyes are wide and always darting around, seeing the world. She has long, wild curls of medium-blond hair. She usually wears overalls and florally-decorated or brightly-colored shirts. She wears shoes extremely rarely.
Personality: Persephone is one of the sweetest, most loving people you will ever meet. She has a kind heart for just about everyone. She is very outgoing but not very loud. She loves to laugh and have fun among people, but when she's by herself she most enjoys the peace and serenity found only in nature. She is an avid environmentalist and vegetarian, and often ends up cramming these beliefs down others' throats, though not intentionally. She is quite timid and is easily influenced by others' moods, words, and emotions.
History: Persephone was born and raised in Viridian City, where she was ensconced in green and where she learned to love nature. She was always out exploring the woods with her parents, eager to explore the world of both plants and Pokemon. When the school for Trainer survival began in her home city, she eagerly enrolled, and was chosen to be one of the special nine to go on the journey. She was fearful, but she was ready to go forth bravely with Laurel at her side.
Start Pokemon: Laurel the male Bulbasaur. Persephone met Laurel in the wild; he had a broken leg and Persephone nursed him back to health. Laurel hasn't left her side since.
Other: I've always wanted a vegetarian character, even though meat's awesome.

What is evolution going to cost point wise?

Whatever level the pokemon evolves will be the cost. Charmander evolves into charmeleon at 16. so it will cost 16 points.
Also i will be doing some serious updates but you will be able to level up your pokemon in this game unlike red or blue. So one point =one level

Okay guys/girls, any questions about battling and capturing should be asked here.

It will be assumed at all pokemon start out at level 5. You are allowed to level them up but youll need to post a request here for that. Unlike Red/Blue your pokemon can go up to level 100.

It should be noted that there will be 9 gyms to battle and each of you will be responsible for beating one. The gym leaders pokemon will be given levels.

Saraibre Ryu

How are we going to work out how to request a level in an RP? I just don't see how a level system in something more anime based is going to work other than using discreation and knowledge by each role player. Also considering Shay did mention her Charmander already being able to use Ember in my first post...I can understand capturing but levels...?

I'm just not understanding how you're thinking of working it so if it works with the points or something, an explanation would be helpful. ^^'

Also, nine gyms instead of eight? o.O

Judge Dredd
07-03-2012, 01:27 AM
Well to be honest the anime hints at there being more then 8 gyms. I figured every trainer should have to be fight in at least one gym. That way everyone wasnt waiting to battle warn out gym leaders. I thought it would be interesting to see each person help out the team in one gym.

You make a good point, ive been trying to way the pros and cons of add levels into the story. Points will be still be needed for capturing wild pokmon and leveling pokemon up. I thought Levels would help trainers who dont get a full team until later in the game.

The levels would only be relevant in gym battles and some of the other random battles that might happen in the role play. The levels wouldnt be about unlocking moves.

Does this help at all ? and if you are really against the levels id like to hear more peoples thoughts

I like the idea of multiple gyms, although it could be hard to make work without adding in Anime-style "filler towns". As far as levels go, I feel like it really tears away a lot of the realism to the story. Although some works, such as Pokemon Special, have made references to levels, they are often little more than fleeting mentions, because it's such a hard thing to decide the battle on such an arbitrary system than a matter of who is the more skilled battler.

Thank you for the response ! well the battling system i have planned out now would be more like a story battle. For example if you were to face Brock you would play out the battle in your story. You would get points for how well it went.

Each gym would cost a certain amount to beat. So instead of level match ups it would be telling a story and earning points for how well it went so you can could cover the cost. Things like type advantage will play a roll in battles no matter what.

So if a gym cost 10 points to beat, with good type advantage the number would drop for each advantage.

Saraibre Ryu

I think rather than levels, in the case of gym battles, we do it story based where there is a minimum point requirement for creating a story based on battling the gym. I think that sounds like a better alternative. Even skilled battlers can win even with a type disadvantage, in fact that's what my character specializes in.

As for leveling up just the Pokemon, anime-wise it's never really shown or mention, as Phantasm said. I think that since Pokemon come with a variety of moves and show any 'leveling up' by learning moves, we could work on teaching new moves or work towards earning new ones for specific Pokemon based on points or up to the GM [being you] saying hey, you've done a good job, here's a gift, or something. Maybe same with evolving, since this is a story based RPG, maybe increase the cost for evolution or something? Unless points also go towards buying items and things like that.

You some really good ideas Saba! Ill try to respond to them in a way that makes sense.
First, your idea about having a minimum post requirement for a gym story is what I was thinking about doing. What i meant about type difference was that having an advantage over a gym leader would slightly decrease that point requirement.

Second, I had not taken moves into consideration when making this system for GCeA Blue/Red. I think that based on what your saying I should add them into the system. Further more I think giving away certain egg moves or tms as gifts could work out nicely. So from this point on people will only be able to use moves that their pokemon learn naturally. Egg moves and Tms can be earned.

I have also been thinking about increasing the cost of evolution since the story will take awhile. As far as how much i should increase it, that still needs to be determined

Last, I will post this in the thread and make sure everyone knows this. Your points are also your money. Latio had the idea of giving the trainers a credit card. So Im going to introduce that in that in my next post. The credit card can be used to buy pokeballs, restore items and a couple of various items.

How does that sound?

On Gym Battles: Not every trainer HAS to battle Gyms. Markus will personally crush every leader he sees, mainly to spite Sabrina (especially if she IS a Gym Leader-she seemed young enough for 20 years to not take away her position by age, keep in mind). Henceforth, I'd just keep it at the main eight and say that the other Gyms, albeit there, are closed due to lack of funding from the Leauge and they can only afford to keep up the most mainstream Gyms (The original eigth Kanto Gyms). Some people are aiming at other goals, keep in mind-and even if the trainers were all aiming at the gyms and the Leauge, it would make no sense whatsoever why the trainers only get ONE badge from completely different Gyms and can still go to the leauge, when all sources CLEARLY dictate you need EIGHT, screw your accomplishments that state you are totally worthy.

On an unrelated note, my last post noted a Law passed stating that a Gym Leader's team must change to notice the number of Badges a person has: Henceforth, skipping the order of gyms is potential (challenging the Viridian City Gym within the first few pages of the RP is an option, as is challenging Saffron Gym as the fourth rather than the sixth, as examples), if you're willing to make that a canon piece of info. Just something.

I agree with Sabi's method, as well...Mostly. There wouldn't be a reason for the point system if it wasn't going to be taken into account for ALL battles, and even if you've got the best tactics in the world, hyper-strong enemies can still crush you, so writing up a short story about it can drastically lower point costs, allowing for much easier victory, but will not guarentee it, and is NOT required.

On Levels: My tidbit is thus: Levels are really a general measure of a Pokemon's potential, and henceforth are Canon, but are so general that they aren't really reconized officially unless there is an obviously massive difference in levels (and sometimes not even then-Sabrina's Mr. Mime got KOed by Markus'es Nidoran, as a specific example of a reason why.) In perspective, it's not particuarly a mark of experiance moreso than a mark of power, but as expaining that fully is very complicated, I'll just leave it at this: Level 80 Pokemon of two different species with no type advantages at all, regardless of evolution or otherwise, have exactly the same probability of winning, going just off the Power Levels. Whether or not they win in this case will be based strictly on strategy. Assuming an advantageous Type matchup for one side, this changes to favor the advantaged Pokemon. OK? Sound good?

On the Credit Card idea: Makes sense enough to work. I support this.

On moves: Technically, ALL Pokemon are hatched and many probably have Egg moves to begin with, so...That may just be for creative flare. Speed's style of GCeA is that the type of a move used determines type effectiveness in captures, not the type matchups between Pokemon themselves, so unless that's being implemented, I can't back this at all.

Whoa, that was a big post.

(remember that I established that almost every leader has changed. I posted this so there would be no confusion as to referencing any gym leaders of the past, I said this to you in the sign ups so you wouldnt get mixed up in the story. In fact most things are different now. Im sticking to the one badge rule, id say if some people would like to battle for more then one that could be talked about. As long as it fit the story. It makes perfect sense if you think about it. Nine people challenging one leader would be ridiculous, the story wouldnt make sense the leader would need lots of time to rest in between. The nine characters are a test, to see if others can do it. The rules have been changed for them and thats what we are going to go by.

(this law will not be recognized and will have to be edited out because it does not fit the story.)

(Its a story game, moves that have a type advantage will be added or subtracted from a battle. Like GCeA Red/Blue nothing will add or subtract from the cost of capturing a pokemon. I can see why that wouldnt make sense to the match ups but its suppose to be a little bit of challenge.)
Whoa, that was a big post.

Ive posted my comments in red. some things that i stated before need to edited in the your story. but again this was posted in the sign up stage, so it should not come as a shock.

Ive posted my comments in red. some things that i stated before need to edited in the your story. but again this was posted in the sign up stage, so it should not come as a shock.

The rules have been changed for them and thats what we are going to go by.)

I see your point, and I won't challenge it. However, there's a logical fallacy: just because every leader has changed doesn't mean the amount of Gyms have, am I right? Plus, come on, Nine Gyms? Would they really make it any harder to get to the Leauge for regular trainers? Plus, most Gym Leaders have a LOT of Pokemon, as demonstrated in a few anime episodes, and several non-canon sources say they have multiple teams consisting of the same Pokemon for repetetive battles, eh? You could just tap into that to explain it away.

(this law will not be recognized and will have to be edited out because it does not fit the story.)

Considering what's going down, does it even affect the storyline? Just because the kids don't partake in this journey the regular way (especially if there's a set route, or something) doesn't mean the law isn't actually there at all, eh? Plus...Really. It makes life easier on you, and would explain why trainers can break the intended order of Gyms (in GCeA Red and Blue-specifically facing off Lt. Surge BEFORE Misty) I'm just throwing a helpful bone and keep odd questions from happening, eh?

(Its a story game, moves that have a type advantage will be added or subtracted from a battle. Like GCeA Red/Blue nothing will add or subtract from the cost of capturing a pokemon. I can see why that wouldnt make sense to the match ups but its suppose to be a little bit of challenge.)

...I didn't state the cost of capturing at all, so why did you elaborate? Wasn't arguing there. However, from what I'm gathering, this means you're supporting Moves=Type matchups, and not considering the Attacking Pokemon's Type at all (which is how Speed's system works, keep in mind. It's ENTIERLY up to the Move's Type and the Attacking Pokemon's type is completely ignored). Also, note that again, all Pokemon are technically hatched from Eggs, so many Pokemon could get Egg moves naturally.

OK, My comments are bolded. Please read carefully. I respect all of your opinions.

EDIT: Also...There wasn't any particular note in the first page of the SU, where all the settings/rules are, stating the part about the whole thing being way different. I'd change that.

I think some of what ive said may have come off a certain way. I assure it wasnt meant for that. I think maybe i should explain where my head is right now that way you can see my point of view.

As of right now, reaching the league is the goal of the story. Ive been dabating about how far we will go from there. Sealboy suggestion the last thing is a match for the trainers to fight each other. maybe the first round of the tournament.

As far as the law goes your right it does leave it more open ended, but added stuff that is permanent to the story like that has to be cleared before you can do it, because your making something that effects the rest of the rp.

I agree with this. JD is the head honcho of this RP, therefore whatever plot he makes is, therefore, his to adapt and change when necessary - adding a law before clearing it with him could be classed as insulting, but Boss is way too awesome to feel like that :L

Anyfluff, yeah, adding things to the plot without discussing it with the RP owner is a big no-no in my (and many other's) opinion. ^_^

Shall I start to make my own comments? Sure :D

Big number of points in order to evolve is good - sure, Pokemon have all of the moves that they could possibly learn through levelling up, but it won't really show how strong our Pokemon are if we keep using those variety of moves; evolving would definitely help to show the strength of the Pokemon.

I like how Type-Matchups can have an affect on battles, so I'd very much like to keep it in the RP. I like the idea of the set amount of Characters which will indicate your success. But maybe JD could review our battle posts and, depending on if the post is written well or not (descriptions of moves/Pokemon, atmosphere of the scene, development, build-up etc), judge whether the battle has been successful or not? Will encourage us to write to our full-potential in that case :)

Gym Battles - maybe nine gyms would be a good idea. I mean, each trainer needs to prove that they're strong enough on the journey - earning a badge would prove this. Again, using my idea above about JD judging Gym Battles will inform us on which characters need to improve and develop. This is all about the group working well as both a team and individually, right? Gym Battles would be individual, yet the support throughout the journey, and the journey itself, would be as a team. Also, why not just follow the Gym orders that are throughout FR/LG? That way we know what the opponent's team is (saves from confusion during writing a post, potentially) and it keeps to the original concept of a Pokemon Journey - a random Gym order would be pointless in my opinion. Adding new towns and whatnot (and a new Gym Leader for the Ninth Gym) would also make the experience new (although it already is as we're travelling as a group), rather than similar to a playthrough of the game.

Anything else? Nah, I don't think so P:

The Law should go. As far as the gym leaders issue, its still open to debate. I wanted your opinions on 9 gyms. Latio made a valid point about there being less gyms. Ive been playing around with the idea of having each person either have to earn 4 badges or one badge.

If i go with four badges ill stick with eight gyms, if i go with one badge ill go with nine gyms.

"The Law should go," however coherent it is to you and others, makes no sense. Is it applying or not? (yhea, I can't interperate that as a yes or no, so sorry.)

On another note, I vote Four Badges Minimum with eight gyms. Minimum being emphasized, as Markus will want to prove his worth, and it's not like he won't take the nearest chance to prove himself.

The former sentance contradicts the latter, especially since it's OK for a set path in this Journey to be in order, as I've stated previously: It's just background information. If something else is going down for these kids, for the sake of the journey, then tell them the law itself is in effect, but say that it's going to be different this time around. Of course, all of it is your call. Eh?

And again, you've left a question hanging: WHO are the Gym Leaders?! I'm dying to know!

In case people get confused about Xiac's compliment on Shay because I failed on explaining in the RP:

He's acting bold and informative to gain the attention of his 'audience' - the team. It's like a magician introducing their assisstant, as well as the fact that Xiac thinks he's being polite. May be interpreted badly, but his intentions are kind-hearted. He's not used to socialising, so yeah... Either I'll edit my post when I have the time or I'll incoporate this in my next one.

The fate of his Gym rested in his hands as he battled Nurse Joy. In a battle that would talked about for years Forrest's Rhyperior held its own against Joy's Latias. While he lost the battle, he performance was more than enough to prove his abilities. Forrest, now 32, is one of the most recognizable Gym leaders on the planet.

Other:

Hey Judge, can we use the points in our catching post to contribute to the capture of a Pokemon? For example, I currently have 9 points, and Nidoran Female requires 10 points. If I write a five-thousand character post for the capture, can I use one of those points as part of the ten required and keep the other four?

Furthermore, once you get to the more advanced pokemon that cost a lot. Youll be able to write longer posts to earn more points to help.

Sweet Mary, that seems like a very steep challenge. Unless we're going to get a pile of Rare Candies or play him as a total nincompoop, I think Forrest is going to be a terrifying challenge. Also, I'm curious about the inclusion of Forretress and Sudowoodo on his team, since they don't have any connection to Generation I Pokemon.

Forretress and Sudowoodo are both out of place, but as Forrest is Brock little brother and Im going off the idea that they were passed down. Im going to treat the gym leaders the same way gold and silver does. Its the same reason my character uses pokemon from different regions. I want the regions to be more connected.

As far as the battle goes, everyone who applies to battle the gym. Will be given two pokemon for the list.

Remember each of you only need four badges.

Also the reason the gym leaders will be tougher than they were in the game is because at this time. Most if their challenges come from trainers 25 and up.

Forrterres and Crobat would be preferred matchups, admittantly, because those are really the only two Markus has any hope against, not being Rock or Ground types (and henceforth not crushing Markus like a fly against a flyswatter). I stated that either out of stating the team I'd prefer Forrest to use against me, or out of the misconception thereof...And...Considering Viridian Forest IS home to Pichu...I'm assuming I'd get one at that point to deal with Crobat. (Seriously. It's the earliest home of Pikachu in the originals and the remakes, if not the only one. I'm saying 'if' because I don't really know.)

When you say Route 2, you don't include Viridian Forest right? Just north and south of it since we aren't in the forest proper yet?

Also with the RP being heavily point based I understand not wanting to count quoting other people. We can just paraphrase. But what about when wanting to reply to specific portions of a paragraph? It would be hard to reply to that without inserting it into our own post in pieces or something.

And are we really using the points for money and leveling up? Might wanna raise the limit for points per post, or we would be going broke pretty quickly. Then being unable to keep up with levels of what we encounter. I mean you got Forest packing freaking final forms. That's like trying to stop a nuke with a feather. I also have to express that levels shouldn't really play a factor in RPs, which are done in Anime fashion where a 'mon develops and gains strength in the story rather than leveling up. It creates times where our 'mon suddenly jump in power, seemingly overnight or instantly. It's like when watching a game playthrough and the person doing the video cuts out the parts where he heals his team or grinds for five hours to either catch what he wants or gain ten levels for an encounter that just kicked his behind. All this is done offscreen and creates a disconnection with the story that can only be explained OOC and otherwise makes no sense IC. Like most people exclude sleeping in RPs except when it plays a factor in the story, but it's still usually cut out and is justifiable because people wanna go on with the story instead of sleep.

Sorry if I'm out of place to post this.

Do we have a Pokemon limit? Can we carry six max like the games and show or can we carry one of each of the 'mon in our list once captured? Would be nice to not have to switch in each town.

Lastly, if I can't afford a 'mon when we get to the spot it lives in how would I get it later? Would I have to drag the group back with me or would I be allowed to break off and travel back there alone when I can afford it, then rejoin? How would getting 'mon later work?

This Role Play is a little bit different from normal ones. I can say out right that I Did not have the whole thing figured out when I was started. I had a general idea of how to run it but as you can see with how often I post here I am still working on things as we go. GCeA Yellow is almost a test thread for a much bigger project. So I really do want feedback from everyone as far as what they think or what could make it better.

That being said. Here are somethings that have been changed since we started.
1) Leveling Up has been taken out of the Role Play because as many people said it takes away from story. I think it puts and unnecessary limit on your pokemon strength . You will still need to use points to evolve a pokemon though.

2)Evolving a Pokemon has become much more expensive. Pokemon dont evolve overnight, as the journey will take awhile you will have a lot of time to train with your pokemon. Final costs have not been figured out yet. Once they have, I will add them up here.

3)Free points, I will add sections into the story where you can gain points. Right now, the best way to do that is to train against wild pokemon when I post them. You will have the choice to either catch or train when I post wild pokemon.

4)6 Pokemon limit, just like both the game and show, you can only carry 6 pokemon with you.

5)Most pokemon will be in two areas. If you a general idea of what pokemon are found where you should use that to figure what you want to do. For example pokemon that are normally in many places like pidgeys should be taken second to a pokemon that is more rare. Just a forwarning that you will have to make some tough choices.

Why don't you just shove the Gym Leader into an existing Town? Pallet Town or Larvender Town seem PRIME for having a Gym Leader.

And while we're at it, is it possible to first Capture a Pokemon, then battle another Pokmeon? Or Battle more than one Pokemon?

No, just pick one. Youll get more chances for training throughout the story.

As far as towns go, Ive done research on towns and I will be adding some of the anime towns into the RP.

Are you seriously ripping this off from the Anime? Seriously, I don't even watch that anymore, and I haven't watched enough episodes to know anything more than the cities/towns designated in the Games, for real. I'm not going to argue with you, but REALLY, I'd like it more if it was in Larvender Town, or somewhere else we already know what it looks like.

Yes, I am taking all of Kanto in account including the anime. Dark City isnt a new town, it was introduced in 1998. I wont be adding to many new towns into the journey but a few well placed ones.

OK, but...Where would Dark City be? Keep in mind, most Routes require more than one day to traverse, realistically.

Okay the first out of game city we will go to is going to be Sable City. We will be crossing through there to get to Pewter City

As far Dark City Ill give you a link to get some background on it. A town located between the Safari Zone and Cinnabar Island.

I will credit you GREATLY for finding a location with the Game's map that EXISTS and can be called logical. For one, the Safari Zone is directly north of Fuchisa City. Fuchisa is almost a seaside city, as another, with, from the ocean, just a small beach and a checkpoint all that stands between it and the city, meaning that Dark City is either the middle of the ocean (which isn't canonically possible in the Anime itself) or else is so close to Fuchisa city that there shouldn't be a distinction.

Well based on the Game Map I could fit Dark City in south of route 11 or north of route 15. Also there is room for a town west of Celadon based on the game map.

This is if I am trying to fit it within the boarders of the game map thought. Its a story and creativity is the key to a great story. If you cant imagine another town or city in all of Kanto you need to open up more.

I am...But going off the Map, North of route 15 and South of Route 11 are both out of the range to be between the Safari Zone and Cinnibar Island. There isn't ONE landmass aside from Fushica city in that range. Not one. I'm serious. Well, Seafoam counts, but that's already an important place.

I'm not trying to disown your idea for an Anime city being good for a 9th gym. Hell no, I support a wildcard Gym... Try elseware, though, if you're aiming for canonical geographical accuracy. If you're not really concerned about that, just stick it on a random island and ignore the maps, or better yet, Try Seafoam island if you're not concerned about Articuno being down there. (I also have no objections to other Anime Cities, either.)

You can not disown my ides, since its not my idea. The creators of the game and show made it. I will be using whatever town I feel should be mixed in to help the story. Please understand this will be going more based on the Anime Map than the game map.

6)Gym leaders. There will be nine leaders, which will include a new town. Each of you will need to earn four badges.

7)Money, you will be using points as money. So you will be able to buy stuff with your points.Ok but what about Leaders like Forest packing final forms against us new trainers? That's impossible to beat dude. And I hope you're not including Viridian Forest as part of Route 2 pokes?

Let us know about how evolving works as soon as you decide, please, both regular and special methods.

When I have a poke I want and it's off the path we are following or we passed it's habitat and I didn't have the points at the time, what do we do?

I really think we need more ways to earn points than just 5 points per post. With needing items and at least 5 more balls each, the prices are gonna need to be cheap with evolving also costing points. We can run out pretty quickly dude. No, just pick one. Youll get more chances for training throughout the story.

Like I said in the last post you will be able to earn points by taking on training battles. If we enter a place and there are no pokemon you can capture. You will have the option to battle for training. You can earn 2 extra points for these battles.

Also the story takes place more then 20 years after that anime. When it gets the point where its time for that battle I will give a more proper explanation.

I am considering adding more 2nd stage pokemon into the pewter gym. we still have a little while

As far as the journey goes, after route two we will be heading into viridian forest and then Sable City.

Training battles with Max where he teaches us stuff or with random pokes like you're offering right now?

So how are you handling coming back for pokes who only appear in certain spots? Like say I want Weedle, can't afford or don't want while we're in Viridian Forest, then want later. Am I hosed?

I meant battling wild pokemon for experience. did you read my post about this ????

If you choose not to capture a pokemon such as weedle in the forest battling the gym leader is going to be very very hard.

This goes for everyone, Dont miss a chance to catch a pokemon. You will have plenty of time for earning points throughout the story ! You're going to be facing a gym leader with two strong pokemon and its crucial that you have two pokemon to battle with. That is if you are challenging Forrest. Like I said you only have to beat four gyms...but they each will be getting harder.

Are you saying '2nd stage' in the TCG sense or the '1st-2nd-3rd' sense? Either way, please no Final Evos. We will not be able to get enough points to evolve either of our Pokemon to that stage. Basic forms, maybe a 1st stage, but please mostly basic forms. No 1st Gym Leader ever faced in Pokemon had 2nd stage Pokemon to fight with PERIOD, and only one had a (rather weak) 1st-stage evo for the fight (Falkner and his Pidgeotto).

On another note, you've approved my post about knocking out a Spearow. By coincidence, are there any more Spearow up for capture, or was that the only Spearow on the route up for capture/battle?

It still was not an evolved Pokemon. Onix had Steelix to evolve into. That doesn't prove very much. Size matters not for evolutions...Evolved Pokemon are what I'm fretting over. A Pichu, screw the type advantage, will not win against a Crobat. Nidoran cannot beat Forteress. They can beat a Zubat (or a Golbat) and a Pineco.

Also, Phione, who is weaker than Manaphy, is also bigger than Manaphy size-wise. Nevertheless, thanks for considering the tone-down.

I reckon I could make a post in which Slick, my Psyduck, would be able to take down Steelix. Of course, he wouldn't be able to make it past the next Pokemon. It could be possible to take two Pokemon down with the use of two or more of your own Pokemon? Sure, they may be evolved, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be super strong or whatever - it can be possible to take out just one Pokemon when judging type match-ups and moves.

I can abuse a Rock Gym using mostly physical attacks on a ghost that phases through everything thrown at it and has anime justification for doing so. Do I want to? No, because it sounds pretty unfair to me. I want a challenging Gym, but not impossible. Please?

I had to defeat Brock with cheese twice already (Original Red and Fire Red) using Pidgey and Sand Attack. Cheese tactics is just cheesy.

I think beating the gyms is going to take a lot of hard work and creativity. Its really based more on your imagination then the actual match up. Now I will say that the team gym leaders pokemon will always be extremely tough. Even when your pokemon are in there final forms I would expect to see a really great match. The key with your new pokemon will have to be a winning strategy

Sorry to be a smart aleck, Onix was a fully-evolved Pokemon in Red, Blue, and Yellow versions.
I actually think that the benefits to challenging gym leaders far outweigh the downsides. There is an in-story reason for their stronger team, now that we've moved away from levels the match-ups aren't going to be overwhelming because it all comes down to creativity and strategy, and it's giving the gym leaders a wider array of options for us to fight against.

Yes Onix was fully evolved at that point, just like golbat. One of the reasons you guys will see so many pokemon from different areas is because the game made it seem like the pokemon stages were all final. Then they said oh hey look there is a little form of pikachu..why no one in kanto had one despite all the random pikachu appearances makes no sense. So I changed this.

Also you should use your typing in your stories but they should not be the only thing that allows you to win.

So anyway, how are we supposed to stand a chance against Forest without cheese? Seriously the only thing I can think of in my case is phasing through most of his attacks for at least half the battle until Trixie gets tired. It sounds realistic, but not unfair. I would still be in the same situation as Sealboy though. I can probably beat one Pokemon but not a second one. I think before challenging Forest the group needs to stop and do some serious training either in Virdian Forest or the upper part of Route 2 so we stand a chance.

Or we could just judge it for ourselves? RP conflicts are pretty much staple. Assuming it's done fairly, with taking hits correctly and not dodging absolutely everything a la godmodding, the fight can just be done the usual RP fight way with the two people figuring out how much damage each one is taking fairly until somebody's poke expires or is close and has to recalled. It's like fighting an NPC except we are not allowed to assume our attack hits. It's up to the other player to judge the intent and take damage accordingly. Creativity is the name of the game.

Whoa. Mention Shay V. Markus and suddenly it's a hotspot.

Admittantly, I'd wager Markus, at minimum, has the advantage: His knowledge on Fire-Types, being the Fire Spinner, despite Epic not knowing any super-effective moves against it, and probably regardless of Charmander not being one of his potential Pokemon, is a HUGE advantage against Shay, her only Pokemon at the moment being a Charmander.

And I agree with Bron, 100%.

Yes he's a Fire Spinner, but let's not forget two things:

1: Shay hatched Asharas from an egg at a young age. The two have been together already for at least eight years if not more. Their bond is strong and Shay has plenty of experience battling already, which leads me to my second point.

2: Shay was raised on a Pokemon Ranch. A big one. What she doesn't have in social skills was put into Pokemon battling and understanding. She has an affinity for Pokemon on a ridiculous level where people would call her a wild child. She was raised around a plethora of different kinds of Pokemon and that's mainly who she interacted with the past all years of her life so far aside from her parents. Her knowledge of different kinds of Pokemon is intense, as I wrote in her history.

Shay doesn't battle Pokemon in their typical way, she has a unique battling style for every Pokemon she uses, so that's multiple battling styles based on the Pokemon that all connect based on the simple idea of doing the unexpected. So there in lies Shay's advantages.

If the battle does happen, it will be epic.

This sounds more like an ASBL battle, unless i can see a proper example of what your talking about im going to have to say no.

As far as the battle goes I wouldnt worry about that at this point.

RP battles can be a bit hard to bring out but it is possible. Sometimes, since RP are more story based, a battle is scripted between the two people, or a compromise is made so that each side gets something if one of them wins, but it is solely between the two battlers. The rules of godmodding are applied here where, as said before, you can't dodge everything and if you're going to dodge something, make it reasonable. Everything has to be believeable and of course a GM can step in if something looks out of place. For example if I honestly didn't see something coming in a battle in an RP, I take some damage for it, because if it were real Pokemon actually battling, that would be the case.

As bron said, yes, creativity is the name of the game, with also a curtosey rule in mind that if one of your attacks is said to be landed by your opponent, one of theirs should hit. Also not dodging everything, and if you're going to make a good dodge, make it believable.

are you talking like a turned based thing, where each person makes a move or two and the next person replies ?

Pretty much, since RP's we do have to wait for the other person to post. Just as long as the other person doesn't do SO much that it doesn't give time for the other person to respond to everything, doesn't god mod or bunny, and uses the curtosey rule, it pretty much goes how I explained before.

Thank you Sabi. That's what I meant but had trouble formulating.

I want to add that RP conflict posts can sometimes be very short if all the person does is one defensive and one offensive action. I personally have trouble inserting filler into a fight post because usually everything else is ignored and all thoughts are on the fight.

Hey guys, sorry for not having a post yet. Real life stuff comes up and I keep getting distracted xD

I need to read through all previous posts and then work on my own - a post by today or tomorrow? I want Slick to battle a Ratatta - do I have to send a Training post to you Boss for approval, or is that only Capturing?

All righty, I'm going to swoop in and claim that open Light Mage position. Looks like my character will be late for the party, so Judge, do you think he can accompany Max to the group's camp when he leaves?

Name: Aidan Fletcher

Gender: Male

Age: 14

Class: Light Mage

Specializations: Being a Light Mage, Aidan has some psychic abilities. He’s talented with telekinesis and some forms of weak telepathy—though being a child, he does have his limits. As of yet, he can only move items with his mind that are less than 3 lbs, and anything heavier or larger than him causes him a great deal of strain. Through his telepathy, Aidan mostly senses the feelings of his Pokémon rather than their coherent thoughts—and unless he severs this connection during battles, he will feel their pain.

Appearance: http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m399/PowerCampGal/Renders%20and%20Backups/LeafeonTrainer.png

Aidan is a little on the frail side, and his short stature leads most people to mistake him for being younger. His childish grin can sets many individuals at ease.

Personality: Aidan is a very bright and energetic individual, seeming to exude happiness. He’s book-smart and intelligent, learning fast and loving every new gained piece of knowledge. This has lead many adults to praise him as a real prodigy; however, despite his smarts, Aidan can be quite childish and naďve. His innocent, trusting nature makes him rather gullible.

Light Mages are known to be a little shy, and Aidan is no exception. Notwithstanding his timidity, Aidan is open and friendly to all he meets. He doesn’t deal well with conflict, and is prone to stressing out. Still, he tries to keep on optimistic outlook on even the worst situations. He has some reservations about battling to get over in order to become a good Trainer, but he’s eager to set off on a new adventure and see the world.

History: Aidan was born and raised in Kanto—he has never known life outside of it. He is the only child in his family, but what he lacks in siblings he makes up for friends in Pokémon. He doesn’t know much about his father, who had left when Aidan was very young to travel the world as a Trainer. Communication with him has been difficult; in fact, Aidan hasn’t heard from his father since his tenth birthday (and that was the first time they talked since his father left).

His mother never seemed bitter about her husband’s absence. She was and still is a sweet-hearted woman, shouldering the responsibilities of a single parent with courage. It was she who instilled in him kindness and a love for life. Growing things was her special skill, and so to support her tiny family she opened a greenhouse. Aidan loved assisting her in caring for the plants there, and was often seen running up and down the aisles with a watering can when he was younger.

Life at the greenhouse was simple and peaceful. Aidan couldn’t imagine being happier anywhere else. However, he hit a bump in the road when he began demonstrating unusual abilities. After an accident that ended up in a good number of broken clay pots, Aidan’s mother revealed to him that his father had been a Light Mage—and that he, too, had the potential to be one. The boy wasn’t sure how to react to this, but his mother assured him that his gifts were given to him for a reason—he should learn to use them well.

Soon after his powers began manifesting themselves, Aidan’s aunt called. Meeting her had been a strange event, since neither Aidan nor his mother had much contact from his father’s side of the family. She was a mage as well, of course, but with darker tendencies then her brother. She took it upon herself to teach Aidan, but she was far from patient. Aidan did learn quickly, though it was hard to please Aunt Kara. The woman often pressured him to uphold the family honor, to carry on the tradition of their tribe. This often stressed the boy more than help to motivate him properly.

Some burdens were released from his shoulders when he began attending the Trainer School. He quickly advanced through his training, and was even enrolled in classes beyond his age. Now, he has been given the opportunity to really prove himself as a Trainer. As exciting a prospect as it is, Aidan feels even more pressure from his family to succeed.

Start Pokémon: Olive (Female Eevee) was Aidan’s tenth birthday gift from his father. They’ve become pretty close—and in fact, Olive so far is the only Pokémon that Aidan can truly converse with through telepathy.

Other: Finished! :D Sorry it's a little shorter than what I usually write, but I wanted to hop right into the story! ^^

The only thing I would say is your going to have to tone down your powers. understand that at your 3 pounds would be maxing out your power. You have to think your still working on bending spoons at this point. In this journey you can get stronger but its going to take time. As for Telepathy goes, id would say you should be somewhere around sensing emotions, maybe as the story moves on picking up a thought here or there.

I wondered what a good limit would be for the powers ^^' But okay, I'll go in and edit that bit! :) Oh, and sorry if I didn't explain it very well--I implied that Aidan's telepathic powers were limited to sensing emotions, though I wanted an exception for his Eevee. I can leave that out, though, if you'd prefer ^^

So, where should Aidan jump in? Should he go in and, er, find Max as he's having issues with his refrigerator (and Wisp)?

Judge due to limited PM space I will put my battle post(s) in this thread for approval. Is that ok? Please say it's ok.

Starting now.

I should also announce to everybody that my posts might start to degenerate in quality. Judge knows about this already, but my computer stopped being able to turn on last week and I'm limited to being able to post from my Android phone only. I don't want to drop out, but might have to eventually. How would dropping out and potentially rejoining later work?

Oh awesome. You can do that. Sweet.

So if I do drop out would I be able to rejoin somewhere down the line or no? Thinking that's a no. I don't want to but might have to if the quality of how I write gets too bad for my own taste.

Dunno if I will finish tonight, but definitely I have a couple paragraphs typed up already. I'm working on it.

I think I gotta drop out soon everybody. I don't want to, because I had been having fun, but having to write the kind of posts I am used to on such a small screen is just too much, and I don't want to hold anybody up. Maybe if I had a tablet, but I don't. My post is like half finished. I will try this week, but with going out with mom and coming home late tired (Having a life, heh), and playing console/handheld games to keep from remembering I don't have a working computer anymore is taking up all my time.

I really wish this hadn't happened but my computer was just too old.
