Four years after the fall of Ghestis and his faction of Team Plasma, N Harmonia went out and searched the world to better understand the bonds between Pokemon and trainers, and to find some way to help people form bonds with Pokemon without the need for Pokeball devices. During his travels, by chance or by fate, he found himself on a boat where he ran into Jessica White, Reshiram's trainer and the one who first made him question his beliefs of separating people and Pokemon.

The island they were headed to was a newly discovered region, off to the far east of Sinnoh. Accompanied by Max from Hoenn, Silver from Jhoto and Barry from Sinnoh, these trainers were the first to set foot on the new land and worked together to overcome the many new and unfamiliar obstacles.

After much discussion, the five trainers agreed to use this new region as an experiment: to see if humans and Pokemon could work together without Pokeballs, with a few obvious exceptions. From there, they started to find places that would make for suitable towns which would minimize the impact on the local wildlife.

Twenty years have passed since then, and the region of Vertru has flourished. Jessica and N married, bearing a son. Jessica White became the Professor of the Vertru region, while N, Barry, Max and Silver became the elite four of the region. However, peace always sees trouble. Team Rocket has reformed, under the combined leadership of Giovanni and Ghestis, and they have set their sights on the new region, seeing it as new and ripe for the taking.

As one of the new trainers of the region, you have woken up from your slumber, taking your voucher for a Pokemon partner and heading for the lab in. Pokeball use has diminished, though it still exists in the region. People tend to rely more on their natural bonds, and laws have been set up to prevent other people from capturing other people's Pokemon that do not have balls attached to them.

1.> Everyone starts out at the Pokemon Lab in Jos Port Town. You may be a trainer from Vertru or from another region, but you do not start out with your first Pokemon. You will instead choose one at the start of the RP in character. Starters will be chosen randomly for each starter type (Fire, Water, Grass), and two other Pokemon chosen at random, with the last of the six reserved for my character.
2.> One character per player. Max six characters total.
3.> No Godmodding.
4.> No bunnying without permission.
5.> Be active. You should be able to post at least once per five days max. If you are not able to, everyone may move on and force you to play catch-up.
6.> Romance is encouraged, but nothing beyond PG-13.
7.> You will not encounter Pokemon on your own. Instead, each area will have a list of Pokemon, and I will periodically roll dice to see what Pokemon appears. The trainers can decide among themselves in RP who will try to befriend that Pokemon, or the Pokemon might decide for itself based on interaction with trainers that help it out. However, things will work out so that parties remain even.
8.> Your Pokemon can have four moves to start, and they must be the lower level moves. As you travel and battle, you can learn more moves, with a max movepool of 6 moves.
9.> All PE2K Rules.
More rules will follow if needed.

History: Robert was the only son of Professor Jessica White and region champion and former king of Team Plasma, N Harmonia. Robert had a strongly developed love for Pokemon and couldn't wait to finally begin his own adventures. His father was a legend among the newly discovered region, having shown that Pokemon and people can be partners without the need for Pokeballs. While nothing could truly replace the Pokeball due to the sizes of larger Pokemon and the special needs of most aquatic Pokemon, it was a step towards truly powerful bonds between trainer and Pokemon. The Pokemon could always remain at their trainer's side without being stuck inside a dark ball, and could leave of their own volition if they felt they were being mistreated.

N raised Robert to understand the hearts of Pokemon, to understand their language through empathy, a trait N had mastered as a child when he lived in the forests of Unova, before being adopted by Ghestis. His mother raised Robert to learn how to properly care for Pokemon. She went into great detail about grooming, food, medical care and combat, wanting to give her son the best chance to succeed as a trainer and as a person. Robert took the lessons of his parents to heart, primarily because of their shared love for Pokemon. Robert would often help his parents in the basic care of their Pokemon everyday.

Once Robert was old enough to be out on his own, he began his Pokemon journey with his beloved Espeon. He sets out to explore every region, to meet other trainers, new Pokemon friends and new experiences. His father raised him on the stories of his journey, from the days he was King of Plasma all the way to the founding of the Vertru region. He heard about the journies of the other Elite Four, all of whom were close friends and rivals of his father. He now awaits his first Pokemon partner to begin his journey, eager to see who his first Pokemon friend will be.

Personality: Outwardly, Robert is a very kind young boy. He is easy to make friends with, and he is very respectful of others. There was once a running joke between his parents that you could put Robert in a room full of strangers, and that within ten minutes, he would know them all by first name. He is also a very artistic person. He loves to make sketches of anything that catches his interest, especially new Pokemon that he meets.

Robert is also very selfless, especially when it comes to Pokemon. He will go out of his way, and even into harm's way, to protect others. He has an affinity for Pokemon and will always try to befriend them, even if they are hostile at first. He believes that wild Pokemon are good by nature, and only become bad if they are raised by bad people and treated poorly. He also knows that some are naturally pranksters and some may go out and cause trouble if something has greatly upset them.
