Welcome everyone to the 1st Banner of the Week Competition! =D

This contest was held in the past, so therefore this is not the first one ever held. But The contest is out to a fresh start and there have been some changes made to the contest. So we'll just start over and call this the 1st one ever. =P

Overview

For those who have never participated in this contest, here's what it's all about.

As you can see by the title, this contest will take place weekly, unless the activity of the forum forces me to change that. So contestants will have 7 days to enter. After entries are no longer accepted, a voting poll will open in which members can vote for their favorite banner. Voting will also last for 7 days. The winner of the contest will have their banner displayed in the Banner of the Week Competition Museum.

Banner makers will be given guidelines to follow in making the banner. This includes height and width of the banner as well as theme. The theme of the banner will be determined by myself. But any theme suggestions should be PM'd to me if you feel that it would be a good enough theme for the contest. There is no gaurantee that I will use your theme idea, and by sending me the theme, you give me the right to change it to my liking.

I am also thinking of having requested themes. If a member needs a banner for their thread (ex: requesting a banner for the rules thread of the forum) then they can PM me and I will put them on the list. This is still undecided though and further discussion on this should be put in the Banner of the Week Discussion (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12563) thread.

Rules and Guidelines

This weeks rules include the following:

Anyone Can Enter!
Theme: Banner of the Week Competition
Height: 110
Width: 450
Theme Description: For this week, you will be making a banner based on the competition itself. The following specifics for this particular week are required for this banner:
Text: Banner of the Week Competition
Stock: Not Allowed

Other Rules
Please follow the theme as best you can. Anything that does not follow the theme or the dimensions specified will not be permitted to be entered into the voting portion of the contest. Anything below the dimensions specified will be accepted but anything above will not.

Anything obscene such as pornographic images, hentai, or anything that violates the rules of this forum will not be permitted. People who enter such material will be reported to the authorites of the forum and will be dealt with accordingly.

This contest is not Pokemon Related, therefore you do not have to have something pokemon related in your banners unless it is required in the theme.

The Maximum amount of entries is 20. After that amount has been reached, no more entries will be accepted.

Entries Due

This weeks entries are due next Friday, December 2nd. This may change over time so check back here for any changes in the due date. Voting will also start Next Friday and will end Friday, December 9th.

Everyone try your best and don't hold back because of your current art program. Not everyone needs photoshop to be a good artist, and everyone's entries will be accepted no matter what progam they are using. Have fun! And now let the contest begin!

Yes, you do post your entries here.

And I was never entirely sure what stock was, but I just consider it any outside picture. Like if you googled a pokemon picture, then you couldn't use that pic in your sig because it is stock. Since this banner is just about the contest, it doesn't really need any stock.

Yeah I know, it's weird that the person who is running the contest is also entering it. But no one's ever complained before, and it's really depressing to see a bunch of people entering, when I can't even enter. =P

And I hope Tabbloza and I aren't the only entrants this week. =/

Thanks, yup, I use Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro trial ran out of time and Photoshop is easier for me. Awesome banner by the way, it looks cool. :o

We used to have like 13 entries by the end of the week in previous contests. Let's try and beat that this week. I think I may have to extend this contest to two weeks if necessary.

Actually I think I'll extend this to next Friday. Not too many entries and this particular contest is special because the winner has their banner displayed at the top of the thread each week.

And I think I will also allow a maximum of two entries now. So anybody who wants to put in one more entry is welcome to.

In Katera's banner it says Competision, and it should be Competition....But I'm not sure if that was the reason...

Heh, yeah. Well I was planning on doing an entry like that anyway, after seeing another piece of art like it on deviantart. =P I think I'm going to stick with vectors for awhile though. or at least include some kind of vectorish brush in every sig, lol.

Btw, great work everyone. Matthew, love the text on yours. :wink:

And remember, you can enter 2 entries this week. So if you think you're first one isn't all that great, like mine, then you always have until tomorrow to either fix it up or enter another one. =)

Matthew, love the text on yours.

The first font he used before for his Hermione banner, and the second looks like lowercase Neverwinter. I don't think it's anything special, and honestly, not one of your better banners Matthew.
