Did u update them? It might be the case if it's an old version and u got a new type of spyware.

Hm... Like I said in this thread:

http://www.empireirc.net/pokemonelite2000/showthread.php?t=1244

...the cause of this is probably a program (like a popup stopper, for example) that's installed on your computer. Even if you have the latest version of ad-aware, spybot, etc. it won't work since the program that's causing it will set your homepage back to that one.

I don't really know how to find the source of what's doing it though.

That might be it. But the logs of the hijack attempts should still be picked up by ad-aware and spybot. Should check them out in detail for scans, might give u a clue.

Here's the solution: http://www.pchell.com/support/lookfor.shtml (One of the steps include downloading the program CWShredder, the link doesn't work, use this one: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip )

Well, not exactly the perfect solution for everything, there are some exceptions. Some stuff aren't caught by Ad-aware, but most stuff are. And combined with Spybot - Search and Destroy, then chances are, most junk on your computer will be removed.

Ugh. After spybot tho, I lost two of my programs without any notification what had happened to them...

Yea, you should check the list of things you're removing. Odds are, if you see it on the list, and you never heard of it before, it probably doesn't belong there. But if it says "Download Accelerator," (which does show up on spybot by the way) and you know that's a program you're using and is safe (which it is safe), then just uncheck it.

Well, the bad news is that you have those files on your computer, but the good news is, since you detected it, now you can remove it and have a clean computer.
