Hi everybody! It feels so great coming back to the forum, so I decided to post some of my fic straight away, as you can see. For those of you who haven't read it, it was quite popular on the old forum (I think...) so please feel free to read it and post comments either here, or on the story thread itself. It might take a day or two to get going (I'm making a few last minute alterations) but until then, enjoy!

Whatup, my friends! This is (~Aleyquala~) here, the author of the popular story: The Journey Of A Champion

Unfortunately, the story WILL NOT be coming back. I was not inspired anymore with the story, but got really inspired with my new one! Its called (~The Strive To Victory: Kanto~)
This story is very different from my other one. It will introduce the usage of TMs and Fossilization Reviving. So, its like a manga-type story with some new styles of Tony Williams.

I have posted all of Orange Islands Adventure, i will have all of the sequel, Quest of a Champion, up by tomorrow night along with two new posts. It will be hard to get back into routine with writing, its been so long. The last few posts of QoaC have been made popular and if you think those were some exciting chapters, you'll really love the new ones with some odd discoveries, exciting changes, and some unexpecting guest. I just have to say that The Twisted Fields and Quest of a Champion are both looking great. Congrats to NP and KCash! I can't wait to see what happens next guys!
BTW, I should be posting more of my fic pretty soon too. I appologise for the delay, but I've done some serious editing to the first chapter so that parts later on will actually make sense. So for those of you who have read it before, I would recomend reading the first chapter again when I post it.

Thanks KCash, your fics are remarkable as well. But I would have to agree with everyone here, Dr. Skotties Adventure of a Lifetime grabs you right from the very beginning and never lets go. I read it for hours on end and the time flew by. His characters have loads of personality.

Well it depends how much you remember i guess...
Chapter 5 was where he got his 1st badge,
chapter 6 he catches a skiploom and trades it for a chikorita,
chapter 7 is inside union cave where he catches a charmander,
chapter 8 is in slowpoke well where he fights Ice <(who won an award for being the best re-occuring character )
chapter 9 is his battle against bugsy for the hive badge.

I think Nick's Pokemon Journey is pretty good so far, and Team Meowth was an interesting twist. I'd like to see more.

Well i finished Chapter 35 in Quest of a Champion. I know it is a little slow but I just thought I would bring the old rivals in for a small chapter. I hope to get down to the battle for the last badge by the end of the week. Because of this goal, NiM2 wont get updated a lot at all this week. I will try to get the first kill in but thats it for this week anyways.

If you do notice, I removed OIA, because I finished it today. Good work KCash, good story, but you do need help with grammar. When you didnt need a period at the end of your sentences in quotation marks, you need to put a coma or something before the ". Just saying =P 3 3/4 Stars

Yeah well thanks for the comment. As for the grammer errors, the system i use to put it on isnt WORD anymore. I got a new computer, Dell, and it doesnt have any Microsoft programs. It has a weird version of WORD so everytime i try to make a ," at the end of a sentence then it spaces it far out. Thats why i just leave it as a " at the end. It sucks... i miss MS WORD :snooty:

Well its been sitting there, waiting to be unleashed into PE2K forums and get out of my hard drive and I finally got it done, The Sacred Flame is up finally. This fic will show true passion and great meaning. The next post to it will be extremely surprising and devastating. I hope you enjoy the fic. Hey WWW, I started reading your story a week or 2 ago and I was instantly impressed. If you check out the Fan Fic Awards I voted for you twice I think. I have been reading Dragonagi and it is a very well detailed story and a very original idea. It is a bit difficult to keep track who is who but its still a great story. My only dissappointment was where Galita battles Ash. I expected a detailed climatic clash between the two trainers but it was over in a paragraph. But that isn't too hard to fix.

Best way to get more responses to your fic is to read and respond to the fics of other people. When authors see you're reading their story and commenting on it, they'll return the favor. But it looks great so far, nice job on it!

O.o! Awesome feedback guys. Take it for law, I'm going to do everything you've just asked me to. Consider your fanfics read. Consider the Ash/Galita battle revamped. The best thing about feedback, is recieving quality feedback.

My reasons for cutting the battle scenes so short, and in particular the Ash battle scene are these.

Ash is "The chosen One". A Title he tends to carry lightly. But all the same, he is immensly popular, being the main charactor of a childrens era. He is also, i'd hate to admit it, past all his luck, poor judgement and weak Pokemon, a decent battler. In the anime, probably one of the very best...potentially.

This is why i showed him as little possible detail as i could. I wanted to show his insignificance to the main charactors of my story. They didnt care who this guy was. They had a mission to complete. Thats reason number one.

You'll notice i shared the same "One paragraph" philosophy with pretty much every battle. In case you didnt notice... the story is big. In fact... its not a fan fiction, its a frikkin novel. So i had to cut down on many things.... most saddening was cutting down on describing the outlay of certain scenes.. like jungles, forests, swamps, buildings and such. I can really describe a scene well, but had to cut ALOT of it out. Which bums me a bit. The reasons for cutting them is that who is going to spend over an hour reading a fan fic? People open up fanfic topics expecting something short and sweet. So thats why i cut most battle scenes so short which really isnt my style.

Just finished reading 31 chapters of An Adventure of a Lifetime in a row and whoa.... very smooth, very well structured and true to the game/anime.

Yet while its based on the games and anime, its still very original, very unique on its own. I love Storm, always good to have a rival who's not as dasterdly as Gary was in the anime. He's very likeable. Bon is cute too. I love the Pokemon choices for Kevin. Although i was devestated when Charmeleon was sent back to the daycare. Shame on you XD.

And his relationship with his father should be something to look foward to.... should it ever be revealed in depth. *Hopes so* Lance is my fave charactor from the anime/games by far! *Drools at his cewlness*

Well I finally finished posting back up Chikorita Adventures. Not a lot of people have read it while being reposted since it was read back in the old PE2K forum days. I still needed to post it up though, especially since the sequel will come around quite soon after Sacred Flame and NiM 2 is finished. And believe me, it will be a great one with your favorite--Ty, having the main role. So anyways, there is something to look forward too.

Onto bigger and better things, more of Nightmare in Mauville 2: Ultimate Sins will be up shortly as we go past the half point line for the fic. I dont want to sadden the viewers that hope this one is better then the first so I will add a few more kills in there but remember, my horror fics are like big novels... they are more like movies so they dont last a long time. Anyways, check it out tonight for Tiffany meets a character from the FIRST fic.

As for other fics around the forums, I reccomend Saya's Learning the Heal to Hurt. It has great description and the storyline seems to be coming along great! Keep up the great work Saya!

Okay, I need advice from you expert writers.

Recently, I have recieved feedback on my fanfic Alternate, stating that the names I gave my characters are, in short, horrible. They don't fit the plot and o not seem realistic. The names are rediculous and insufficient.

Even furthur, he stated that my time travel plot would be difficult to understand and complete, seeing as you simply can't erase time, at least from our viewpoint. It doesn't work that way.


And so... I face a decision. This seemingly blantent, yet constructive critism, hows placed me in a predicament. I based those characters after those of roleplayers in the war rp. It might benefit me to change their names, but would that be better or worst for the story? I'm not sure and I don't know what to do about it. As for the temporal problem, I have that fixed.

As I read some of your fics, I realized that mine... well... takes forever to get through. Everything in it is detail and longevity, but is that too much for a fanfic? Should I cut it down so that chapters are 5 or 6 posts long? I don't know..

So, any advice or criticism will be helpful. Before I proceed with the story, I want to know both the good and bad points, otherwise, I'm doomed to repeat my mistakes. Thankyou.

To HKim: I personally haven't read your fic, but I can tell you that for dedicated Fic writers, going into too much detail is VERY easy. Basic rule of thumb is this. Does it contribute to the plot? Does is it develope characters? Other than that and BASIC descs of surroundings should be eliminated.

Hey thankyou for the critisim, its about time I got some :lol: . Firstly I will admit that there are quite a number of errors in my fic, not because i can't spell, they are usually just typos. The occasional spelling mistake doesn't really bother me, as I'm telling a story, not writing an English essay. Spelling mistakes are mainly cuz of 3 reasons.

1) I type fast and often don't think so that explains the "there"'s instead of "their"s and the your and you're mistakes :rolleyes:
2)I have a Ms Works 4.5, you know, in the days before Word on my computer. So thats why there are those gramatical mistakes cuz it doesn't underline them green (or red for that matter) :confused:
3)Lastly my story is so bloody long I couldn't be bothered going back and looking for errors as it would take up too much time. :razz:

But, thanx again for making a point of that. I'll try to make it more accurate from now on. What I really want to know is what you think of the story, characters, etc... :cool:

btw, that 'dammit' bit... i know its not a word i'm writing fenetically or however u spell it. Its what the person sounds like. say 'damn it' and then 'dammit' outloud. There is a difference in pronunciation which is how I wanted it :smile:

Well, I read a bit of Aleyquala's story, Critical Kingdom Battles. Its a great fic and I reccomend the fic for everyone to read. The fic is in no hurry to be done and plays out really smoothly. Looks to me as if no one is reading it and thats a big mistake. This fic could beat a lot of the other trainer fics out there. If I would of read the fic before I voted in the awards, it would of gone up as my favorite trainer fic. Go check it out, you wont regret it. Keep up the great work Aleyquala!

I've been reading it and it's pretty good, your descriptions and the emotions of your characters really shine in the story, and its easy to follow.

Just wondering off hand, if you do write a War RP story, do you need to ask permission if you want to use another member's name in it?

Well I think the chapter I am working on QoaC right now is one of the best in the fic. I thought since its Easter and all I would give everyone a little present and show them the rematch of the FanFic Awards runner up in Best Battle and following that... the Nick v.s Claire battle which we have all been waiting for. Samantha Rivers is 10 years old and from Saffron City in Kanto. Her father has been friends with the Gym Leader there since childhood. One day, Samantha was heading to Pallet Town to get her first Pokemon. When she got to Prof. Oak's lab, Oak tells her that her father finally has got the job of his dreams in Lahto. Samantha becomes really upset about it until she asked can she take her starter with her. Oak gives her the okay, and Samantha is now the proud owner of a Bulbasaur who seemed to have one heck of a suntan. When she gets to Lahto, she registers for the Lahto League. The Pokemon she has in Chapter 10 are her tanned Bulbasaur, a chubby Pichu that likes eating, and a shiny Beautifly.

I know I promised everyone a last minute Easter present on a rematch between the runner up in Best Battles at the FanFics Awards. I'm having some writer's block right now for the battle because I'm trying to even out the time between Nick's pokemon before the Silver Conference. So everyone will have to wait til tomorrow for that to be up.

Well I updated quite a bit tonight, including QoaC and NiM2 here at PE2K earlier today. The idea of the "Behind the Scenes" slash "the making of" thing about fics was thrown out there by me... but I simply have no time for it (I hardly have time to do AJIK as is...)

So I'm leaving some others do it. By "some others" I mean that everyone can do it - their own edition of "The Making of..." with as many 'episodes' of it as they want. This way, the same author can be featured a few times in different ways ^_^

Say Person 1 does it, and features his authors, but asks about certain things about the fic and the author,. (not very interesting, but could be)
person 2 needs to do something different. I dono how exactly, but just make your type of "The making of..." different.

Or, one person only can do it, but that's kinda boring. THent hat person is never featured :-/ This way, everyone can have fun being interviewed, and interviewing! ^_^ *Knows he just confused the hell of everyone*

Hey yeh, i agree with them. It takes awhile to read it before people can actually comment. Also don't post stuff up so quickly, people just think: "woh, thats too much" and just don't bother reading it.

Also, WWW, There is just SOO much of ur story. I read some of it but then i get distracted. It's very good, but it can be kinda hard trying to wade through all the detail. Which is a good thing i guess, but not good for someone who has to do school, work, singing at church, acting, an upcoming audition for aus idol 2 and my own story to write... Its kinda low on my list of priority no offense...

Yeah I agree. Hey listen man if you want someone to read your fic first just be cool about it, sometimes you get no comments, other times you do. Two change the name of your fic, when I first saw it I waslike ha he expects me to read it. Three haven't found a third, but just be patient.

Yes, it does seem like Card Captors, Pokemon, and a little bit of The Wizard of Oz all rolled into one, but it's done very well.

After all, the beginning plot of my fic The Gray Battlegrounds actually was inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. For those of you who have played the game, notice the similarities:

Mewt = Randy
Marche (Backs up Mewt) = Jeff & Frank
School Bullies = Jake, Alex, and David
Magical Book = Quista Necklace

And like Mewt, Randy does create his own world, but it pretty much ends there. Everything else, was completely thought of by me. The same thing goes for The Twisted Fields and The Blazing Skies.

Hello. I'm Marco a newbie at fan fic writing. Could someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong in my stories. I know one thing wrong is that the chapters are too short. My M-word isn't on my computer. (is meant for games. So if you would be kind enough to read "You can talk pokemon?!" I would be really grateful. :happy:

First off Dark Luddico, your not doing a bad job on the fic. One thing I would recommend is to make your big clumped up paragraph into many paragraphs, this way the reader can easily read it without gettin off track at times while trying to follow up on the lines.

Check out Dr. Skottie's An Adventure of a Lifetime, he has made his paragraph's spaced out great. Check that out and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I was just writing a bit to a new fic that will come here to PE2K after I finish Quest of a Champion and I kept switching my sayings around. For instance heres a sentence I noticed I did the same thing at in the last chapter to QoaC:

Primeape wasn’t going to get worn out from this and knew it needed the attack to connect quickly.

See how I called Primeape an 'it'? Then there were times when I referred the pokemon as a 'him' or 'she' or so on. Which one should I use? I mean, 'it' just sounds like the way to go because when I say 'he' or whatever it might be I think differently of it but then again thats me writing, not reading. I've seen the same thing on a lot of other fics as well but which one does everyone really perfer?

You're a mind reader KCash, I've often wondered the same thing myself. Are Pokemon just "its?" Perhaps they should only be called "it" if we don't know the gender. I guess it doesn't really matter, you should just put what you as an author prefers. If you consider a Pokemon to be sentient (which I do), then I would suggest using "he" and "she." If not, they would have to be considered animals or pets, or "its."

And I agree with the above poster. I think Pokemon are better off with genders.
