Suggestions

Here are some suggestions for the forum :

1 : Make a nice forum color, it looks better i think then the normal VB colors
2 : A site logo maybe ?
3 : Something that allows you not to post less then 4 words ( saw it on other forums )

Don't know much more for now....will edit if i can think of something else

Btw, i don't think the forum is bad or something, just i could use some color :biggrin:

I'll say my opinion on your idea's

Idea 1 -> I think the current forum color is GREAT and i don't think it needs changing

Idea 2 -> We have a site logo, it's on the PE2K website. I just think that you can't place it anywhere here.

Idea 3 -> The one idea that is good :wink: But i don't think that is possible here. So deal with it :lol:

Well, there are some reasons for this.

1. PE2K had decided that the current forums colors are fine and it's here to stay. Honestly, the colors are not that different from what the old Proboards forum used to have. So chances are high that's not going to be changing.

2. PE2K has agreed himself that the forum needs a logo, and plans are being made to make one. So that VBulletin thing isn't going to stay there forever.

3. Finding the code to program a forum to do that isn't very easy. I've tried to obtain code for a Proboards forum I once used and it isn't so easy to find and use correctly, so give it a little time.

The forum is barely more than a month old. Just keep in mind that I'm sure PE2K is a busy guy, you need to give him a little time.

Just let PE2K handle it, I'm sure if he really needs to code, he'll know where to go get it. These kinds of things take time, the forum still isn't that old.

I think colors of the forum are fine, light blue and white are easy on the eyes. Everyone may not love it, but at least everyone can be satisfied with it. Compare that to a dark colored forum theme (or the opposite, very bright colros), which some people, like me, don't like that at all and can't stand it. And by coincidence, it matches the website pretty too heh.

Site logo has been my plan since day one of the forum, but there's just so much to do, I just haven't got to that yet. It's probably not the most important thing, but nevertheless, I do plan to get a new logo up there soon.

I'm a little iffy about the words limit (I don't have the feature). There's actually a characters limit feature I can use. After thinking about, and browsing around the forum, we don't really have a problem with posts with less than 4 words (most of the forum at least). Of course, forums use this to lessen spam, but I don't think it works that well. If it were spam, people could just add a few more random words to a post, and it was just be the same, spam (just, a few more words longer spam). Short posts doesn't always mean spam either, like "Thanks very much!" or "Happy Birthday Bob!" And there's spam that's well over the limit. With the characters feature I have, it's even more difficult to set the limit. So, it doesn't really help to curve spam, and it might cause a few rare problems with legitimate posts, so that's why I decided against it. Obviously, even without the limit, people shouldn't be making one or two word posts when they post more (rules are rules, junk posts aren't tolerated).
