Shanel walked through the door and yawned. It had been a VERY long day at the recording studio. She was behind schedule on recording her newest album and had to do the whole album that day. She locked the door behind her and sat in a soft chair. All Shanel wanted were some peace and quiet.
“Help! Shanel, she’s gonna kill me! EEEEE!”
Unfortunately, that was not, or never would be, for that matter, possible for her. She shared a house with her best friend, Monique, and her other best friend, Hannah. Hannah owned her own tattoo company, and was somewhat successful, and Monique was, well, an idiot. Even still, they all were smart enough, each in their own way, to finish High School early. While Shanel and Hannah were out, Monique was usually up to some kind of mischief at the house.
“I’M GONNA KILL HER! I AM GOING TO MURDER THAT IDIOT!”
Monique ran down the stairs as Hannah chased her in rage, holding a frying pan. The house they lived in was know to the younger kids as The Crazy House, from the loud screams, courtesy of Monique, and the loud death threats, courtesy of Hannah. Something was always happening.
“SHANEL! HELP ME! OW! WAAAAA!”
Hannah had caught Monique and hit her over the head with the frying pan. Monique was wailing, Hannah kept hitting her with the frying pan to make her shut up, not seeing it was making her screams louder, and Shanel had her hands over ears.
“SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU! EVERY DAY I COME HOME TO THIS! YOU IDIOTS ARE 16, AND YOU BOTH ACT LIKE 2 YEAR OLDS! JUST SHUT UP FOR ONCE!” Shanel screamed.
“But she started it!” Monique sniffled and wiped her nose on the sleeve of her big, fluffy sweater.
Shanel growled, then became calm. “What made you want to hit her anyway, Hannah?”
Hannah rolled her eyes. “She tried to give my room a cloud theme, so she painted it over completely over with melted marshmallows and blue food coloring! Then, she ate my stash of candy bars and replaced them with frozen goat cheese! After that, she unraveled the clothes in my closet into a pile of string and sewed them back into a rainbow-colored rug!
“Here.” Shanel had counted out some bills from her wallet as he was talking and gave it to Hannah. “Buy some clothes with that. We have paint in the attic. And don’t worry, I make enough money so that giving you that won’t hurt my budget.” Then she turned to Monique.
“WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, YOU MORON?”She yelled.
“I was bored!” Monique whined.
Shanel sighed and stood up as Hannah walked out the door. “Well, it can’t be helped now. Wanna sandwich?” She said, walking into the kitchen.
Monique nodded and stood. “I wanna make it! I wanna!”
Shanel got out the bread and set it on the counter top. She decided to make herself a sandwich too. “Okay! You’re cooking can’t be TOO bad!”

About two hours later, Shanel woke up. She and Monique had taken naps after they had eaten their Pastrami and Marshmallow sandwiches, which afterwards, Shanel made a vow to never eat anything Monique made again. Suddenly, she remembered something and looked at the clock. It was 3:32.
“Monique! WAKE UP!” Shanel ran into Monique’s room, yanked her blankets off, making her fall to the floor, and gave her a good kick. “NOW, Monique!”
Monique looked up at Shanel and yawned. “In front of me, little munchkins,” She said, still half dreaming, “Is the wicked witch of the west!”
Shanel screeched and yanked Monique onto her feet by her ears. “Get up! I have three tickets to a ballet, and you are NOT going to make me late! Got it? Now go wake Hannah up! She took a nap as well. I can hear her snoring. Sounds like a freight train.”
Monique walked into Hannah’s room and jumped up and down on her bed. “WAKE UP SLEEPY PANTS!” She screamed, jumping on Hannah’s head. Monique then ran out of Hannah’s room and into her own room. Then, she got out some clothes, and ran into one of the bathrooms to take a shower. She almost was shut out by Hannah, but she got there quicker. Now, there were other showers, but Monique got the big one!
About an hour later, after they all were dressed, Shanel gave out the tickets. Monique saw that the concert started at 6:15, and they all got a free dinner afterward. Hannah turned on the television just before they left to check the news. It seemed that three small comets were going to be landing in the area, and that everyone could watch them go by around 7:00, and that it was a special moment in history, because they were all next to each other, and, as Monique said, “Yak yak, yadda yadda, bleh!” Shanel turned off the TV and they all left for the concert.
Soon, they were there. Shanel had tickets for three seats in the front row, and soon, they were seated. After about five minutes, when everyone was seated, a man stepped on stage and said into his microphone, “To all you people out in the crowd, presenting some lady in a tutu!” Everyone booed as the lady walked on stage in a skimpy tutu, the fat on her body looking strapped in. The three of them then looked at the stage.
After about 20 minutes, there was a loud rumbling sound. The ground was shaking like crazy. Suddenly, a large wormlike creature emerged from the ground. It had wet, red skin and beady black eyes. When it roared, it’s mouth opened wide, showing hundreds of razor sharp teeth. It’s tail was pointed like a sword, and covered with tiny spikes. The whole audience screamed.
Monique heard a man in uniform say into a transistor radio, “Everyone, except the fat ballerina, who we cannot find, has been rushed to safety.”
Out of nowhere, the large, fat, hefty ballerina bounded on the stage and began stabbing the worm creature with microphones, unsuccessfully trying to be a fat, pudgy heroine, not seeing that the monster had hard skin that just broke the microphones. In the blink of an eye, the worm creature ate the porkchop of a woman.
Hannah screamed. “NOOOOOO! That one was my favorite!”
Monique and Spencer went to get her so that they could leave. Suddenly, through the roof of the concert hall, three steaks lit the air. A silver meteor, a red meteor, and a blue meteor. The blue one landed in front of Monique, the silver one in front of Shanel, and the red one in front of Hannah. Their bodies shimmered the same colors as the meteor that landed in front of them, and they each picked their meteor up.
“What the.....” Monique began. Suddenly, the meteors floated up, and each became a light. The silver light floated down and merged with Shanel. Her hair had shiny silver steaks running through it, and it was now completely out of its’ usual braid. The red light floated down and merged with Hannah. Her hair was streaked red and it was now in a stylish bun. The blue light floated down and merged with Monique. Her hair became a blue-black, with no normal black left at all, and it was matted across her face, as if she had been standing under a waterfall.
Hannah looked at Shanel and Monique and gasped. “Wh..wh...what just h..happened?”
Monique shook her head. “How am I supposed to know?”
The worm noticed the bright lights and obviously didn’t like them, because it was slinking towards the three of them with it’s mouth wide open. Shanel screamed. “Eek! The worm thing is slinking towards us with it’s mouth wide open!”
Hannah ran about in circles. “Whadda we do? Someone help us!”
But Monique noticed something the other two didn’t. As Hannah ran about, small embers emitted from her body, but they didn’t stay aflame long enough to hit the floor. At the same time, a cold wind seemed to come from Shanel’s body. Monique wondered what would happen to her. She noticed that each of them was emitting only small things when they weren’t concentrating, so what if they were concentrating?
Monique closed her eyes, crossed her arms in front of herself, and focused. As if from instinct, she found herself shouting.
“METEOR SPRAY!”
As Monique uncrossed her arms and waved them outward, a spray of water hit the monster, putting enough water in it’s eyes to make it’s vision temporarily blurry.
“Hannah! Shanel! Focus on the word, ‘Meteor!’ You’ll know what to say!”
Shanel nodded and stepped up. She raised her hands above her head and shouted.
“METEOR WHIRLWIND!”
A silver wind erupted from Shanel’s body and made the worm creature fly up into the air and hit the wall.
Shanel and Monique said at the same time, “Hannah! NOW! Hurry!”
Hannah shivered as she concentrated. Suddenly, she screamed out shakily, “M-METEOR FL-FLARE!”
Fire shot from her palms, which were now in front of him, facing the worm, hitting the creature in the stomach. It roared once and turned to dust.
Hannah swayed back and forth. Then she fainted.
“Help! Shanel, she’s gonna kill me! EEEEE!”
Unfortunately, that was not, or never would be, for that matter, possible for her. She shared a house with her best friend, Monique, and her other best friend, Hannah.
