Hi, this is an awesome tip that i just found out whilst playing pokemon emerald. After i got the lightball carrying Pikachu from the safarizone and breed it to get a pichu with volt tackle, i trained that pichu into a pikachu to level 50.
After a while i decided to fill up my pokedex and catch the safari zone native pokemon and first in my party at that time was Pikachu with the static ability, this made over 90% of my encounters a Pikachu anywhere in the safari zone and better yet you can just throw a ball at them to catch them as they very rarely run away, i ended up with over 15 Pikachus from that one visit.
The fact that it may have been the static ability that did it may be true, find out for yourselves.
P.S. All over the web on pokemon UK forums i have always been giving away stuff to other gamers such as aurora tickets and other stuff but all of those are gone, and recently i have offered to upload jirachi (from pokemon channel to ruby and sapphire) and now just for this forum a pikachu as i have many, or a newly hatched Pichu with volt tackle. Email me if you want to know how you can get one at jstownend@yahoo.co.uk
