Fan Fiction Ratings

We have all discussed the idea of fan fiction ratings, but so far nothing has been done to implement it. I think we should move forward with the idea if it will help PE2K.

First and foremost, PE2K is a Pokemon Forum and thus so is our content. I'm sure there are places for pokemon stories of a mature nature, but here is not one of them. The greatest rating we'll probably have is PG-13. The other ratings include:
G - General Public
PG - Parent Guidance Suggested
PG 13 or T - Teenage Level

These are taken from Redlark's suggestions, but can be modified depending on what the members think.

In addition, we could also have secondary symbols for the genre of the fan fiction such as:
SS - Short Story
M - Mystery
A - Adventure
R - Romance
SF - Science Fiction

So, a story might have the following look:
"A PE2K Story" PG13-A
(Basically a story of teenage rating focusing on adventure)

This idea isn't complete of course, but it sums up basically what everyone has been saying.

I see no reason why this couldn't be implemented quickly, easily, and to good effect. There'd have to be more genre symbols, though, as obviously there are more genres than just those 4.

Eh, don't mind me saying, but seeing the ratings in all the fan fiction titles might get a little ugly. That's usually how its been done...

I don't think the problem is rating fics, I think we just need to find more ways to get people to write them...

Yes, it does seem that the main problem is getting peopl to write them. Maybe that stems from the fact that there are not many people that read or review fics. The rating/ genre classification might help with this.

Maybe divide genres like this:

HAVE ONE FOR GENRE OF FICTION
SS- short story
A- adventure
M- mystery
R- romance
F- fantasy
SF- science fiction

OR HAVE ONE FOR THE GENRE OF POKEMON
OT- origional trainers
AU- alternate universe with anime characters
AMR- Ash/Misty romance
AYR- Ash/May romance
And others ones

Though, the genres of fiction- SF, fantasy, etc. would be more appropriate.

Well, since we have the new Story Archive, people can put their own ratings. If they don't want to put ratings, that is fine too.

Heh, Comedy can be added into the profiles if they want. They aren't limited to what is suggested here.
