Hmm...not really sure, but I do remember that Evan told me to get pearl. Or maybe it was diamond, I'm not sure. He's basing it on whatever legendary will be exclusive to each game...I'm not sure how he knows, but no one should doubt him. Hes always right, strangley.

Lucario will be available in D/P, it'll be Manaphy that has to be gotten at a Nintendo event. It's always the cute one that needs something special (Mew/Celebi/Jirachi).

Doesn't each country have their own Nintendo...um...organisation or something that runs the events? Like Nintendo of Australia would choose to run events in Australia? Or does America/Japan have to authorise it or something?

Yeah but Buizeru has fins on its arms, I don't see what a Fire type would do with them. I agree with the Manaphy thing though. Maybe it's not even the primary legendary for D/P, or maybe they wanted to try something different.

Mostly where ever Nintendo can produce itself (like the US, UK, Australia, France, etc) it has it's own Nintendo Orginization, but mostly everything dealing with Nintendo launches in Japan first, before it is sent to the organizations. And since everything originates in Japan, somethings they create are Japanese only (such as Pokemon Green).

If Manaphy is Water-Psychic, it'll be one of my favorites, up with Jirachi.

Megumi, I couldn't agree more lol. They've resorted to using little accesories on their Pokemon like funny patterns or shapes, rather than making new shapes or styles.

If you can trade from DP to RSEFRLG, you have to be able to trade from RSEFRLG to DP, or you wouldn't actually be able to trading, lol. It will probably be just like it was with GSC and RBY, just being able to trade over old Pokemon with old moves and such (in other words, no new Pokemon or moves).

IMO, the time travel idea was decent, there wasn't really any other way to make a logical connection between RBY and GSC. They could try "meeting someone from a parallel universe", but that wouldn't be too realistic either..

Well, you go into the fusion machine and the two evolve together and create a mon with higher stats. Does anyone think we might see this in the near future?

The fusion idea is really cool, i sure hope they do it! the hints were there in G/S but it seems unlikely. although, it is possible.
i'm hoping they'll make some sort of use of the touch screen. I've always been hopeful that you could have a 2D adventure but then when it goes into battle have 3D battle graphics on the top screen and a touch screen control pannel on the bottom. sort of like when you hook your GBA to colloseum so you see the battle on one screen and choose your attack/command with the other.

Nah, fusion would mess things up. We have over 386 pokemon already and fusions would add... several more hundred to that number (if not thousands more). I don't think we would be able to handle that many new pokemon. It would be like dueling on Yugioh when everyone has to keep asking what the new card does.

I almost half expect them to go 3D in the game, but I figure that might take more memory and/or time to develope. If they stick with the usual 2D graphics (though strengthened a bit), then they can focus a lot more of the game on the plots and possibly even using all of the regions instead of just the new one. I always enjoyed travelling back to Kanto in GSC.

Perhaps this time there could be several plots instead of the single pokemon journey one. Sure, you can beat the Elite 4, but there still is a lot more that can be done. All the other games more or less stopped having anything involving after reaching the Elite 4. I want a good storyline that will entice us to keep going even after reaching that level 45 master level.

I agree. I always got disapointed when I'd finish and the game would suddenly just... stop. Like, oh, you've beaten everyone everywhere, and/or, you've caught all 569045 pokémon, you're done! I also hope that if you in fact do 'catch' all the pokémon, something more will happen. I was soooo let down in R/B/Y with that guy in Celadon who tells you to come back to him when you've caught all the pokémon, and all's you get in some certificate saying congratulations :sad:

Well I recently finished my FireRed Kanto dex (first time finishing a Pokedex ever ^^;) and I thought the certificate was pretty cool. =/ It would be nice to get a Pokemon or something for your efforts though.

I think when people finished their Pokedex in D/P, they should be rewarded with Manaphy (or whatever the unobtainable Pokemon for D/P will be). I think it's much better to do it that way then to have to go to Nintendo Events, I mean, if Nintendo bothered running them all over the world it would be okay, but they don't, therefore certain unlucky people will never be able to get these Pokemon (without cheating).

It would be great to have something to do after the Elite Four other than try to finish your Pokedex, but I can't see what else they could do, unless they allow access to Kanto, Johto and Hoenn (which is doubtful because they are allowing trade with the GBA games, meaning there is no need to be able to travel to each region to capture Pokemon).

It was dumb how in the past games you were only allowed four spaces for moves and they are for non-HMs and HMs. They should change that to 5 movesets with the 1st four being for non-HMs and TMs and one extra one of HMs only. For example, you can have your Charizard with the ultimate moveset and maybe Fly so you can travel from city to city without taking out one of your original moves. And I think HM slaves are annoying.

When I wanted to fight Red in Gold I had to carry along a pokemon that knew Flash, subtracting one good pokemon from my party. If this idea was introduced in D/P, that would be awesome.

Hmm, I don't think they could give Pokemon 5 moves in battle, I dunno, I just don't think they're going to change it now when it's always been four moves. The only way I can see this happening is if they get rid of the in-battle attack, and just allow you to teach your Pokemon the HM as a special ability or something so that it works in the field but doesn't take up a move in battle, but then again you'll lose moves like Surf and stuff.

It's just part of the game. I managed to get through most games without Flash anyway. In RBY I never even bothered getting it, and in RSE I can't remember a time when you had to battle a tough opponent and had to have Flash with you. Maybe they're making sure not to do that or something.

Nah, it subtracts from the Pokemon feel. Besides, you can just train up your HM slaves so they're powerful enough to make good use of the crappy moves they receive. No matter how stupid that is...

I would be interested if they redo the Elite 4 a bit. Well, maybe not redo them so much as to add on.

In the new region, most likely the trainer will have to earn badges to fight the Elite 4, that's easy. However, if they allow travel to the other regions, they can expand upon that plot.

Ash did travel around the world facing challenges of various types. The same can be done here in the game. Once you finish your region, you move onto Kanto, and after that, you can access Johto, and so on and so forth.

There doesn't have to be an Elite 4 for each region. Instead, they can do various other challenges (Certainly Emerald demonstrated different ways to battle). Double Pokemon Battles come to mind as well as the Orange Island Champion challenge. I always wanted to fight tournament style after defeating the gyms as shown in the television series. Every time you enter that tournament, the trainers involved are randomized so that there are different combinations. It would also be interesting if their pokemon were randomized as well.

Lol, that's what I said. Except not the breeding part. I do beleive that might happen at some time or another. When it does I am going to find a lion and a Tiger-like Pokemon and make a Liger. Or a Lion and a Gligar to make a Manticore.

Nah it wouldn't happen. There are too many possibilities. The only way it could work was if they made a new Pokemon that could only be hatched by breeding two particular Pokemon together or something. It just doesn't seem like it will work.

I agree. I doubt that the fusion or breeding thing would ever work, especially not with the increased numbers of Pokémon that are being introduced. It would have been a hard feat for Game Freak to do something like that, even with the original 151 Pokémon, let alone the new 368. Perhaps, as Sarah said, they might create a Pokémon that can only be obtained by breeding two certain Pokémon together, but even that would have to be limited, otherwise, Game Shark would use up all of their time on that, rather than creating a good storyline. However, I'm sure that that is the furthest that Game Shark would be willing to go.

I also agree that all Pokémon should be obtainable. Because as you saw in the animè, even the starters could be captured. I know that an argument for this is that Nintendo wants people to buy two cartridges so that they earn more money, so they make not all Pokémon obtainable. However, you would still need the trading system to be there, to be able to evolve Pokémon like Machoke, or Haunter into Machamp and Gengar.

I would like to see an alternate path, apart from that typical trainer path. Perhaps once you beat the Elite Four you can choose to become an official Gym Leader, and you could choose how you want your Gym to look, but placing certain tiles on certain places. However, this would take a lot of time, and would be as unlikely as joining the evil Team in the Diamond/Pearl series. Honestly, I wouldn't mind joining an vil team, but there are people who think that they have to be good. Sickening.

I would also like it if we could travel to different regions, and fight Gyms there. However, this would include following the trainer storyline, so I would have to give up on one of my dreams for Diamond/Pearl. What would be nice is to expand the WiFi feature that is sure to be included in the pokemon game.

Battling and competition is the heart of the pokemon game and this feature would allow people to battle other people with ease instead of trying to beat your next door neighbor.

There is a lot of potential here. I think this should be more than simply a small room where people gather. I think that it would be more fun if there was an entire small town or region where people can go to on the WiFi that expands upon every single pokemon competition there is. Ranging from simple battles to double battles to contests to even new competition ideas found in Emerald.

This thought would be a great addition to the game. Seeing as how players often wish they had the advantages that Ash has in the show.

Ex. Digging ditches with Totodile's water gun in order to beat Miltank's Rollout.

Also, I like what was said about how HMs could be used as separate abilities outside of the set moves. Then again, they would have to account for those people who want to use these moves in their set.

Maybe during battle, they'll have the standard:

-Attack
-Pokemon
-Item
-Run

along with,

-HMs

Or something to that effect.

It doesn't seem to far-fetched seeing as how they have two screens to work with.

As for me, I look forward to the tons of new pokemon, storyline, region, and visuals. More than anything though, I'd like to know how they'll use the touch screen.

Another note; Since trade between R/S/E and D/P will be possible, perhaps the wire that links from DS to GBA will allow for DS to DS wire trade? Since the DS only recognizes DS games to be Wi-Fi compatible.

Jade/Diamong aren't Pokemon games. They were faulty fake corrupt GB carts. I think GF has a lot of ideas. I mean, look at XD! Many ideas.

That's like, the first information they released about D/P. :P

I expect a lot from D/P because of the capabilities of the DS. There's so much they could do with just the touch screen, let alone the mic and the WiFi.

They should, most likely. The new Pokemon show a selection of pre-evolutions and evolutions to previously single-evolution Pokemon; I think we'll see few Pokemon in the 4th gen that don't evolve (Aside from Legendaries, that is), if any.

If you have seen the screen shot you will know that is not going to happen because the battles are set up just as the always have been.

These are my favorites. I hope (although I really know it won't happen) to see Johto starters. Johto pokemon were my favorite(followed by Hoenn, then by Kanto), which is why I'm happy about the many Johto prevolutions/evolutions.

Well I don't think they'll actually get rid of any moves, especially those ones. Most of those moves like Haze and Baton Pass and stuff are used a lot in competitive battling. And getting rid of moves that alter stats would take out an important element of the game.

I doubt any of the other region starters will be available as it is possible to trade with all the Advanced generation games.

I agree pokemon isn't all about poweriful moves. With out Tail Whip, and SandAttack I would have lost many battles.

I'm not really saying we need to get rid of the basics like Sand Attack, but I can honestly say that I've never use one of those types of moves over Level 10- much less in a Gym or in the Elite 4. I just hate having to get to learn a new move only to find out it's Sandstorm. Come on.

Yes, I agree. Being a not-very-strategic person, I tend to have only attacking moves on my Pokemon and always end up getting through the games easily enough. However, I still would't want those moves removed. Other people use them a lot, and they do form a base for strategic battling and make Pokemon that much more complicated and stuff, I guess.

Gyms

I would like to see these gyms in D/P:

Dark, Grass, Fire, Ice, Steel, and Dragon for sure. Maybe a Bug and Poison- although if the do get in I hope they're early.


New Types

I don't see a reason for any new one. I knew from the time 3rd Gen. connectivity would be available that there wouldn't be any.

I was playing Pokemon Torozei and I realized that cool stuff is going to happan because its on the ds, just little stuff like we wont have to type in our names anymore because it reads it from the ds. The game will know when its our birthday and stuff like that. No setting the clock. Its gonna be awesome.

Plus with all the evolution stuff thet're doing it would be impossible to take them all out, Geodude is also one avalible in all(I love Geodude).
