Yeah, the title reminds me of the anime "Hellsing" I think it's based on that anime...maybe...but I haven't seen either of them so who knows? :P

Day after Tomorrow.

Finally, a movie that depicts the end of the world, and doesn't skimp on the end of the world part.;)

HP films need to be burnt. What a complete desecration of the books. :snooty:

I'm pretty surprised that Hellboy did so well for their first weekend. I'm not sure if I want to see it, Hellboy's makeup wasn't done very well, it sure doesn't look real. He looks like a huge action figure, his face and body all look like plastic, when it's suppose to look more like real human flesh.

[Fair]
04-19-2004, 06:13 PM
I saw both The Punisher and Kill Bill Vol. 2 this weekend...

The Punisher definitely isn't as bad as the critics are saying it is... I went in to the theater expecting a horrible movie, and came out semi-impressed... (Free comics, too! YAY!)

Then I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2... Wow, what a movie... The first one was pretty much non-stop action, with very little plot, but part 2 definitely fixes that problem... It has more of a story, and even a few great twists... Honestly, I can't think of a single bad thing to say about the final part of Kill Bill...

Yea, it's very fortunate that Metroid got picked up by a talented movie film maker. The rights of the movie was actually bought by some other guys a while back, but eventually the rights expired with no movie.

The movie i just can't wait for is Star Wars Episode III- May 25, 2005 (i think)

It did pretty well over the weekend, $46.9 million, but just short of the $50 it was expected to get.

It has average reviews, nothing amazing and nothing too bad. I'm planning to see it this weekend.

I saw Troy, it was pretty good. Nice battle scenes, to much story line in it which people do like but I'm more of a war scene person. The ending didnt end with the impact i wanted it to be though. The one-on-one battle scenes were pretty sweet though, made me tense and nervous to see who would come up as the victor in the battles so that was pretty well made out.

I won't be suprised to see what happened, seeing as we studied the Trojan War in english class/world history.

I hear its pretty good. Funny how I work at the movie theatre yet haven't seen it.

Other movies I want to see:

Spider Man 2 (the next one better have the symbiotes, dammit...Venom is awesome)
Arthur (schwing schwing, I read a couple books by Bernard Cornwell [The Winter King and Excalibur] and they got me into the whole King Arthur bleh)

and if they need to make a movie about any video game, the Ocarina of Time would be a great trilogy =0

My sis wants to watch Troy so much, she's starting to bug me  What's so good about that movie...Just that the actors were naked when filming one scene, although their body wasn't showed in the movie.

Some of the movies me and my friends look forward to:

Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban (http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/main/homepage/home.html)

Shrek 2 (http://www.shrek2.com/)

Some people might think Shrek 2 is really childish, but IMO, it's good for laughs, and it came at the right time as my exams just passed. I already have tickets for HarryPotter, but I'm gonna watch Shrek2 too.

I saw both Troy and Shrek, and Troy was indeed overplotted, and seemed to have a lot of centering on Achilles when there need not have been. Either way, the movie points out that Troy would have been saved had the King of Troy listen to his sons ONCE of the two times they gave him advice. Go figure.

Anyways, I'm really REALLY looking forward to watching The Terminal, out June 18th, I think. Man, that looks like a great romantic comedy :) (Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta-Jones star in the movie, btw)

I saw Lemony Snicket, and I was shocked as how to it could be a "family" film when the plot revolved around murder, suicide, and death. Very disturbing, actually...but I saw Team America with my parents, and since I am a huge fan of South Park, I thought that the movie was hilarious. I can see how many were offended, but for crying out loud, it's not to be taken seriously. It is pure satire, and we make it up as we go along every day. Bah...humans! >_>

i heard rumours a while back that there were plans to make a Metroid movie. That would be cool if done right.

Well, i just watched Sin City lastnight. it was fresh. Way more graphic violence than nudity. i never read the comics so i didn't know any of the characters. That made for plenty of surprises :hungry:.

i'm waiting for Fantastic Four but i'm not expecting it to be one of Marvel's best. Not with THAT cast... jessica Alba as Sue Storm?! She's like 20 years old! Torch is supposed to be her little brother and that guy playing him looks about 10 years older.

F4 was pretty good. I enjoyed it, though it wasn't the best.

And I'm both excited and worried about The Goblet of Fire. They pretty much destroyed the PoA movie, IMO. See, it wasn't bad if you only watched the movie, but after reading the best HP book (I think, anyway), it was difficult to watch such a choppy version of a great story. So, I'm sort of nervous that The Goblet of Fire may turn out the same. Then again, you can't fit everything into a 3 hour movie.

Um, and The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe movie is like, all I'm looking forward to. December 9th, my friends. (It's actually during finals week, I believe, but I'll be there at the first showing anyway.) The Pevensie kids have been cast rather well, I must say. They look almost exactly as I pictured them while reading. I just... can't even wait.

Anyone wondering about Spidey 3? Ign.com says it's coming out May 2007. The possibility of a villian is Venom, and Sandman. It's unsure that Harry Osborne will become Green Goblin, but Spiderman 3 opens up the door for him to become his father in Spiderman 4. I had no idea there were going to be others after the trilogy.

It's possible that John Jameson, the astronaut, goes into space and finds a rock which contains, or is, venom. He comes back to earth only to have the rock take over Spiderman. It then finds a new host, Eddie Bock. This is all speculation so far, as ign.com stated, but they say it seems very unlikely that venom won't appear in the 3rd movie.

Get more info at ign.com. ;)

On the topic of the day, I personally loved both Venom and Carnage as a little girl when I read the spiderman comics. Carnage was my favorite(I was a twisted little girl, always watching horror flicks and beheading my barbies) because of a single picture frame. It shows him laughing in a daydream/fantasy of his, with thousands of Spiderman bodies laying dead on the ground and their heads hanging from the sky.

Carnage would make a good character, but it would be rated R for the gruesome killing.

I know, it's like there was a clearance sale on villians or something.
And, I remember Raimi saying back when the Spiderman licence first got picked up a few years ago that he "hated the symbiote storylines, and wouldn't put them in the movies".
I guess he changed his mind. But also remember the rumor that the Hobgoblin was gonna be in Spiderman 2? Well, I guess technically he was, but still. It might be the same deal with this one where it's like the last 5 minutes just to set up the next movie. So technically there are a lot of characters, but only a few that come into play this film.

I've never read the comics, but I've been in a few online discussions about this very subject already so I think I have the gist of it.
No, that is spidey in the symbiotic suit. It only becomes "Venom" once it takes over Brock. They are different manifestations of the same thing because the symbiote feeds on the hosts emotions (or something like that).

Incongruity
03-04-2006, 02:38 PM
But wait a second, if spidey's in the symbiote suit, and topher grace is actually venom, then... In the course of one movie, the symbiote comes to earth, peter goes through a lot of depressing moments, he falls to the symbiote, he goes crazy, he liberates himself from the symbiote, it takes over Brock, and venom becomes the new villain.

All the while incorporating Harry's storyline with the goblin and all, as well as the one confirmed villain, the sandman.

Sounds a little rushed.

That's what I thought.
Harry's story is sort of an over-arching story over the course of all the movies so there will probably not be a whole bunch of it. Sandman is probably the main villian, they could have the symbiote B story going on at the same time. With Brock/Venom coming in right at the end of the picture.
I have no idea really, that's just how I picture it goin' down.

THE X-MEN 3 TRAILER ROCKS !!!!!

I just hope the actual movie follows through, especially with the Sentinals AND the Danger Room ....

I think, at the end, where the six are standing in front of Alcatraz, defending it, the students from the X-Mansion, like Siryn, and Jubilee, and ones like that should join the fight .......

Wow, this thread has had about as much action as Walt Flannigan's dog..

I just heard about Super Man Returns the other day. Sounds like it's worth a look. Of course, Spidey and X3 go without saying.

Wasn't the original plot for Doom that you were on Mars?

Hey, Squirts, i like how you had to bracket "Jay" when mentioning Jason Mewes. The tough luck is, if anybody doesn't know who Jason Mewes is, they don't deserve a clue .

Anyhow, i didn't even know he's not in Clerks 2(there's some second half to that title, i'm certain...)!! I fail...

What? He's in it.
But I am not looking forward to this much. I loved Clerks, but this is just too... I don't know... contrived.

Kevin promised Jason that if he stayed in rehab for a year and got clean, he'd write another script because Jason wanted to play as Jay one last time.
Jason got clean and viola! New movie.

It looks like it could be horrible, but so far nothing with Clerks labeled on it has been bad.
And it might be worth it just for Rosario Dawson.

Well, i only saw little bits and pieces of the trailer because we were fighting with some random stranger over whether or not the only 2 empty seats in the theater were saved, BUT, it looked like it's View Askew standard to me. With Randal, you're guaranteed laughs. At least the prophecy has been fulfilled:

I'm a huge fan of the book. I couldn't put it down; it was so interesting & fast paced.
But the film made all of the things I found so intesting in the book seem very pretentious & boring. And all of the fast paced thrills from the book were just... inert on screen. And I absolutely hated the way they spelled everything out for you. Even if you had never heard of Davinci... or... Jesus for that matter you'ld get it.
'Angels & Demons' would make a much better movie.

Anyway, here's some Spiderman stuff (http://s79.photobucket.com/albums/j149/littleal612/)

Well, I'll say this: at least they admitted that they were killing the series in the title.
I was able to turn my brain off for a little while and just enjoy the explosions & shiney things, but there were some things that were just too stupid.
I can't believe Juggernaut actually said that stupid meme. It made me angrily exclaim "shut up!" in theater. Some of Kelsey Grammer's lines made up for that though.
Overall: I'd give it a 7/10. It's just a passable summer action movie

The surpise at the end of the credits was kinda cool. Be sure to stay for it.

Also: I was totally right about Nightcrawler not being in this one.
