Well, I just had a battle with another trainer, and when I was battling, the opposing trainer was losing. So, the ref I suppose felt sorry for him and gave him advice and told him to use dig on my Tyrannitar. So when the trainer did, I had lost, only due to the fact that the ref gave the trainer advice, and if that had not happened, the battle would have resulted in I, myself winning.

So what I would like to know is, "Is it fair to give trainers advice in the middle of a battle if you are the ref?"

I say yes, thought it may be a loss for you Patrick, you are an expiricenced URPG trainer. The other trainer gains expirience and helps to make him more well rounded. But if it was a gym battle then I don't think it should be aloud.

Yeah, but this is what teaches the trainer to learn: EXPERIENCE.

You should know that Zach

Well still, I mean a little advice down the road cannot hurt anybody.

Yes, it can, it can hurt in a few ways, and in the one I'm pointing out, is that it would hurt the opposing trainer. It's just not fair.

Tyranitar used EARTHQUAKE! x2 damage!

I don't think it's professional to give advice during battle if you're reffing, but it's fine if you're not reffing, or after the battle has concluded.

True, it's not fair but the advice is nie to the newb.
(I smell a debate)

Mana is right, save the advice for after the battle. If a ref starts sharing advice during the battle, it could be out of favortism and the ref is not supposed to do that. And it's not fair, regardless of who has been in the URPG longer.

I think that settles it, I also think it is time to reach for a padlock....

My thoughts exactly. XD

During, I don't really think it's fair. After, advice about maybe what the trainer should have done for future referance so they learn, that's ok though. =P

Would help if any of you read the rules.

Referees should be fast, accurate, have all the information in front of them, ready to answer any question and most importantly, respectful of the battle. There is no favoring one Trainer over the other- that is cheating.

As a ref, just don't give advice during a battle. As a friend, it's ok to do so after the battle.
