It has come to my attention that both Tamer and Mike have different opinions on the subject. Mike says it is allowed, while Tamer has quite the oppisite. Everybody has been doing it lately. So this is the question, what do we do? When asked why they shouldn't do this, Tamer said and I quote:

Battle Fields

When you battle, you may choose to have a Battle Field to use. Fields are only useful when using Secret Power or Nature Power. It also becomes very important in Anime rule because you the surroundings during battle. If no Field is mentioned, then the battle will be on a Normal Field.

1- Grass - 25% chance for RAIN WEATHER. Secret Power Effect: Poison. Nature Power: Stun Spore.

2- Tall Grass - 50% chance for RAINY WEATHER. Secret Power Effect: Sleep Nature Power: Razor Leaf

3- Sand - 100% chance for SANDSTORM.. Secret Power Effect: -1 Accuracy Stage Nature Power: Earthquake

4- Pond - 10% chance for RAINY WEATHER. Secret Power Effect: -1 Speed Stage Nature Power: Bubblebeam

5- Ocean - 10% chance for RAINY WEATHER. Secret Power Effect: -1 Attack Stage Nature Power: Surf

6- Underwater - 0% chance for RAIN. Secret Power Effect: -1 Defense Stage Nature Power: Hydro Pump

7- Mountain - 25% chance for RAINY WEATHER. Secret Power Effect: Confuse Nature Power: Rock Slide.

8- Cave - 0% chance for RAIN. Secret Power Effect: Flinch Nature Power: Shadow Ball.

9- Normal - 0% chance for RAIN. Secret Power Effect: Paralyze Nature Power: Swift

Mike had no comment considering he was offline. So what do YOU the battler say?

I think that the battlers shouldn't be allowed to choose, merely because of thr fact that people can't affect the weather. It all depends on the luck of the roll :ermm:

I'm not sure on this on, but Hail only can be used through the move ._.

I have no decision on this one. On one hand, you can only use Hail as a move. On the other hand, we can be affected by unfair weather.(Rainy day Thunder users)

I am pretty sure that we never managed to choose weather in the past, I finally got into reffing and they said that Mike allowed choosing weather? Since when can someone choose the weather?! If we choose the weather then why the hell is that list of battle grounds is made by Jack?!

You can not choose weather, but you can choose where you battle.

Anyway, the list is for randomizing.

Good, because I've seen a lot of people in the past choose sunny when they have Chlorphyll ability.

You can choose what gender and abilities your Pokemon get. :| And in real life you can't choose what weather it is, but you can wait until that weather comes. If both battlers agree to the weather stated, I say let them have that weather, as we are a nation of lambislavers. And as lambislavers, are we not the ones that govern how our gascist brothers coorote each other? I think not!

That's basically what I meant by saying you can choose where you battle ... like you can battle somewhere where it's raining, or where the sun is shining.

Oh yeah, and this reminds of this one route in RSE where it's always raining.

I really don't care. But if choosing your own weather creates problems, then you know what will happen.

I'd just assume leave weather alone. I know I wrote those percentages, but I never use them. :silenced:

As far as I know, Gym Leaders do choose weathers from time to time; some rainy, some sunny... but I've never encountered a regular fight in which the weather is choosed by either both or one player; if the terrain is randomized sometimes there's the chance of a different weather, but that's it. I guess it's about who sets the rules in a Gym/Elite fight, and if both battlers agree in a regular fight.
