Want to be a Gym leader? When selecting an open Gym, choose fully evolved Pokémon based on the Gym type (Raichu for Vermillion City, etc.) Some Pokémon, like Dragonite, can be used for Cerulean City because it lives in water. Gym Pokémon don’t necessarily have to be all the one type, but a majority of the 6 must be and the must be related somehow. Legendary Pokémon CANNOT be Gym Pokémon. You will have to buy TM/HM’s from the Pokémart and teach them to your borrowed Gym Pokémon. You do not buy Gym Pokémon, they come from the Gym on loan.
Say you've been a Gym Leader for a while. You just caught Tauros and you want to use it for your Normal Gym. You replace the borrowed Gym Tauros and any TM's that were taught to it, they do not transfer to your new Tauros.

Maiken is the Coral Eye Badge. It is an all water Pokemon battle. Flare is the rep in that area, as I'm not too familiar with the exact gym rules of them. Try to contact Flare if ya can.

Well...actually, it's mine(IMHO). The thing is, I had my stats, but NOBODY told me that we DIDN'T have to start over. So, I started over even though I HAD my stats. I talked to Lep, and he kind of agrees with me. I didn't start over because I had to, but because I didn't know that we DIDN'T have to. So, IMHO, that Gym should be mine.

Esper when you did restart, you gave up the gym because you didn't fufill the requirements of owning one gym pokemon. Then Matthew took it on and he owns quite a few of the gym mon and will defend it well. So as it is now his, I dont think you can have it back as it would be unfair to matthew to strip him of it. This goes back to the you and dux situation. You didn't have your gym stripped from you just becasue the old leader came back so it is the same here, Matthew shouldn't have the gym taken away just because you have decided to want it again. If you did demand it back that would be hypocriticy. :neutral:

I didn't have to start over. I withdrew that. I have my stats. Nobody cares to think of it in MY perspective. I have my stats, and I withdrew my starter. the only reason I did it was because I thought we had to. There was no post saying that if you have your stats you don't have to start over. The situation with Dux, he gave up his Gym. I would NEVER do that. :snooty:

Just because he started over doesn't mean he couldn't get his gym back in ten battles. the original forum was deleted and it was chaos. i didn't know who still was with us and who had gyms/stats/etc. Esper and I did talk about this a while ago. as it stands right now, i will put the gym on hiatus until we can settle down. i wanted to get to this situation sooner, but i had lack of time.

Yeah, well...Is the gym going to be tri-owned now? I know many of you may think that I have retired, but I haven't. My computer crash, as most of you guys know, and so did my stats. Thus, I am in the process of getting them back again. Anyway, Jag and I currently co-own the GYM, and I am always online, however, am never asked to battle. Thus, I'm still co-leader, yet, just don't have any requests thus far.

Yes Necrobat, to obtain a gym you must atleast own one of its line-up fully evolved. Then you make a 6 pokemon line-up that must be from the same gym's type. And then you make your rules unless you have to have a specific rule (Like the Orange island gyms mainly). You choose a TM for your gym as an award and then everything is done...

Heh, well a x4 ice weakness is pretty much not a surprise when it's a team built for a dragon type gym. Kinda like telling the guy who has a fire type gym to be careful of water. There's... not a whole lot you could do.

Swampert totally eats the Dragon Gym o_o I've owned it before, most waters with ice beam will eat it.

Better prepare some TMs before trying out the gym.

Ok, in the Hoenn region, the Gyms that are open are, Mauville, Rustboro, and Dewford. If you are good with Rock, Fighting, or Electric Pokemon. Post here or PM with your Gym Team and TM saying that you want the Gym.

Heh, well a x4 ice weakness is pretty much not a surprise when it's a team built for a dragon type gym. Kinda like telling the guy who has a fire type gym to be careful of water. There's... not a whole lot you could do.

But, I guess using Kingdra would at least reduce some of the damage done. Thanks for your advice.

I was just randomly checking threads and I noticed that Medicham and Metagross have wrong Abilities. Clear Body is Metagross and Megicham I'm not sure about. Although Levitate fits for the kind of Pkmn, I don't think it's correct.

I'm not entirely sure on this matter: if you want a gym, do you have to own a Pokemon that actually evolves (i.e. a Charizard) or can it be one that only has one form? (i.e. a Misdreavus)

You can own a Pokemon that doesn't evolve. For example, when I got my Normal Gym alls I owned was a Snorlax. But if it DOES evolve it has to be FULLY evolved.

And as far as Houndoom goes? Well, the gym's previous owner used him, so he must be allowed in. ^^; Kinda like how Dragonite can be used in a Water gym...

I don't really find that of much relevance to water types... Except that it can swim(Well, but as far as I know, it doesn't live underwater).

It's probably only allowed because of the appearances it makes on the anime series, for Dratini and Dragonair were mainly found in water (and Dragonair could fly... which was odd...), plus the Dragonite that Bill saw came from the water.

That's just my guess, one of those crappy reasons to allow the use of it by a Water Gym Leader, but meh, it works, :P
