So, the current team I'm using for the Battle Frontier in Emerald (Battle Dome and Battle Tower, mostly) doesn't seem to be working out. It's been successful for the first couple of battles I've been in, but I just keep getting murdered as I keep progressing. I guess I need some help with different moves or new Pokemon. In any case, this is the current team...

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
- Surf
- Substitute
- Baton Pass
- Wish

Passes subs and health to the other members of my team, including the one who needs it most, Breloom.

Gardevoir @ Leftovers
- Will-O-Wisp
- Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind
- Psychic

Special sweeper. Strangely, she's been the most helpful of the three. WOW comes in handy, but I wonder if it should be replaced with an elemental punch.

Breloom @ Focus Band
- Spore
- Leech Seed
- Focus Punch
- Bulk Up

Leftovers is useless on this guy, so I wasn't sure what item to put on him. He's pretty good, but his defenses give me a lot of trouble. For some reason, Pokemon who are put to sleep with Spore seem to have the uncanny ability of waking up after one or two turns. This is frustrating when I have double or multi battles in the Tower, seeing as how I'm usually hit by the opponent's second Pokemon when I try to use Focus Punch. :ermm: This also prevents me from using Bulk Up, which I'm sure would help.

All are EV trained and at Level 70. Any advice you guys have for me would be lovely.

use scope lenses instead of leftovers. You can't even imagine how thinks turn around. Why do you use will-o-wisp. haven't you thought your gardevoir hypnosis and dream eater. It's far more affective than brelooms spore and focus punch.I guess it would help you out if you use a strong fire pokemon instead of breloom. But I know you love breloom:biggrin:

It's a very uncommon, unpopular combo (usually), mostly because of hypnosis's accuracy.

I didn't think anyone would reply. Thanks!

I just realized not too long ago that two of the Pokemon I listed have pretty bad defensive stats. I'm thinking of replacing maybe Breloom with my Armaldo, or look for some other Pokemon that can take hits and still dish out some damage. I chose Breloom in the first place to get rid of the random Snorlax's that pop up.

Also, a lot of the people I lose against use really obnoxious strategies like Attract + Confuse Ray, that sort of thing. Maybe I should add a Lanturn to my roster and return the favor.

Use a stronger physical sweeper with good defenses like a Tyranitar or Dragonite.
To take care of that Attract and Confuse Ray combo, use a PKMN with Own Tempo or
Oblivious. You can also use berries.

I've only seen it once in 3 months. :eh:

I forgot about Tyranitar...what is a good moveset for him? I think I have a Larvitar stored in my PC somewhere.

As for the whole Hypnosis on Gardevoir thing, I don't trust it on her, what with her mediocre defense.

A good moveset for Tyranitar is:
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Focus Punch/Brick Break
Return/Double-Edge

You could give it a choice band or leftovers. You could also teach it dragon dance.Make sure it's adamant or jolly.

Another thing, DON'T teach Gardevoir Hypnosis because it misses too much. Teach it
a punch or Thunder Wave.

A good set is:
Rock slide
Earthquake
crunch
return/brick break
Don't forget that it's highest stat is attack. And as it's a dark type crunch has magnificent affect. And use scope lenses or left overs as the item. That's how I do with my tranitar.

That could work but then you'd need another nature. And Scope Lens hardly ever works.

Crunch is a Sp.ATK-based move. And, Scope lens isn't good. Here's my tyranni moveset:

ChoiceBand
Return
Earthquake
Rockslide
BrickBreak

A nice, variable choicebander.

Scope lenses can save your ass from many desperate battles man. Also the same for bright powder.Tyranitar has his all stats high except speed. And as it is a rock dark pokemon his crunch is perfect for battles and also gives you advantage for phychic and ghost type pokemons.

Yes my team was usually

Salamence, milotic, blaziken or skeptile. They do the trick.

This is going to sound stupid, but I'm not a big fan of really OU Pokemon like Salamence. I traded my Metagross to my boyfriend, so I don't think that's an option.

Sounds good, but I think Dragon Dance should go in there somewhere. I'll try to go with some of the suggestions everyone has stated, though. Thanks.

I might start using Milotic, and the Swampert I once had was a victim of an erased game file. :x

Here, if you want a DD tyranitar, it's only a bit different, but remember, you WILL need to breed it on.

Tyranitar @FocusBand
DD
Earthquake
Rockslide
Return

That's the best I could think of...

Breed one with a Horsea that knows Dragon Dance, I know.

Husnain, I chose Sceptile as my starter. I've also bred two, hehe.

You should breed more for a higher variety of IV's to choose from to EV train.
