And most likely if you are in a situation where you are forced to go talk to the person, then its not like you'll have to deal with them if it goes badly.

In any case, I'd rather talk to a person and it go badly than NOT talk to a person and never know how they really are. In the case of the girl I've had a crush on since freshman year, I just don't want to.
