I was starting up Emerald and before I could hit continue a box popped up that read: "Your internal battery has run dry. The game is still playable, but all clock-based events will not be activated."

How did this happen? How will it affect me? Will it go away?

[PS: It does it every time I start up my game.]

No it won't the game is damaged. If you are using emulator there are ways to make it work.

..you're using an emulator, aren't you?

Just go to the options and activate real time clocks and all that stuff. It'll work fine. :p

I'm not using an emulator and I never had. The message doesn't show up anymore now.

Also, it actually started when I got Jirachi.

Actually, I don't think they do. The only way to fix THAT is to link, or send in your game to Nontendo.

lol, Nontendo? Sorry man, I know it was a typo (I do lots too), but that's funny.

Laughs aside, YES, Jirachi fixes those. Seriously. And charmeleonblaze, please use 'you' instead of 'u'. It makes the post easier to read.

i'm not too sure what all you guys are talking bout but i have a dried up battery in my sapphire, it is a little battery inside the game that runs the clock when the game is turned off, yours has probably run out of power, i dont no if you can get them changed but sending it to nintendo is a good idea. you can email them from www.nintendo.co.uk/.com to ask them about it.

Does anyone know if the internal battery is rechargable and gets recharged when the game is in the Gameboy? Or is it a one-time battery that just dies eventually?

This happens with emulators. The clock will not work so clocks effects like lottery will not work.

Read the thread! He didn't use an emulator.
And, BTW, he solved the problem. Before you post, read the thread!

Well, because of this internal battery run dry, that means that you cannot see mirage island.... sadly, they game cannot tell you how long you've been playing, either.
If you got the game used, and you can still bring it back, do so. If you have used a gameshark or AR, then just get a new one and sell that one acting like it works, but they could probally fix it after you traded it in.
