Treecko, so you can handle the aquas easier.

Or you could simply pick your favorite. I pick Torchic because Blaziken's awesome.

Torchic and Blaziken suck. Go for mudkip, you'll have the advantages of a Ground/Water type. This means you're immune to electricity!

Yes Torchic does suck, Mudkip is your best bet for easily beating gyms. Elite 4is easier with Blaziken though

I didn't take it seriously. But it pisses me off that people don't realize the potential of certain starters.

Go with blaziken or sceptile. As Swampert is water ground pokemon you see the disadvantage against water pokemon very common. It might be unaffected by electric typr but don't forget that there are no real strong electric type pokemon in game.Even Raiku is weak.

Swampert only has disadvantages with grass pokes. ._.

So? Swampert has cool defenses.

The think is milotic, kindra or any other strong water pokemon can take a swampert down unless it knows mirror move or something. (also needs to use it wise)BTW You can find a better ground type in game I guess.

Mudkip- fairly good worth a pick
Torchic- kinda useless
Treecko- only good if u breed it

celebi
06-03-2006, 05:43 PM
No way blaziken is even stronger than Charizard.Treecko is great even if you don't breed it.But a leech seed is fairly good for it.

definatly go with mudkip, hav u seen the others moves? Their crap! Plus it is ground aswell as water so it can not be hurt by electrical attacks.

Uh, Charizard is fire/flying and Blaziken is fire/fighting.

We all know their types. So what? won't you say that an exegutor is stronger than a sunflora even their types are different.

It's like rock, paper, scissors.Every starter has it's andvantage and weakness.Pick your favourite.I like fire so I pick Torchic.

I know that a charizard can take down a Blaziken on one-on-one battling but overall I think that Blaziken is stronger than Charizard.

No chance. Charizard is much better than that silly bird-human hybrid.

As much as I prefer Swampert, Sceptile, in my opinion, is the most logical choice.

Sure, Swampert has its immunity to Electric-type Pokemon, it's a major loss when fighting a Grass-type Pokemon, people most commonly counter by equipping Ice Beam, which is great but just think what would happen if the Grass-type Pokemon had a higher speed.

Blaziken is great when it comes to sweeping with it's Fire/Fighting combo but because of that combo it's opened new advantages, as well as weaknesses.
Blaziken's advantages include Dark, Grass, Electric, Normal, Steel, Ice, and Rock
but it's disadvantages include Water, Dragon, Poison, Flying, and Psychic.

Sceptile on the other hand is quite simple, it can learn False Swipe which is perfect when you're trying to catch Pokemon, Detect which nobody disagrees with as a bad move, Agility, Leaf Blade, and many more moves through Tutor's. Even though Sceptile's HP sucks, it's still a good choice.

Come on Charizard's only advantage is that it's unaffected by ground attacks. But there are no real strong fighting pokemon in game to take in your party except Blaziken. But you can find lots of flying type.i.e dragonite,slamence,rayquaza,articuno,moltres...

Torchic, Blaziken can beat the Aquas easily with double kick.

Meno

Double Kick ia a sad move. Use Sky uppercut instead!

How? Mudkip/Marshtomp/Swampert has no weakness to Fighting. It's Water/Ground... (EDIT: Whoops, wrong gym. :P)

Anyway:

SWAMPERT
Good Against: Roxanne, Flannery, Wattson (only if not Mudkip), Tate & Liza, Steven
Bad Against: None, if you discount any Grass trainers in the game, and, if unevolved, it is bad against Wattson.
Good for: It is a fair tank, but it falls easily to a Grass Pokemon if you don't have Ice Beam or anything else SE against grass.

BLAZIKEN
Good Against: Roxanne (if evolved), Wattson, Norman (if evolved), Sidney, Glacia, some of Steven's Pokemon
Bad against: Roxanne (if unevolved), Tate and Liza, Wallace, some of Steven's Pokemon
Good for: Mixed sweeping, and also Endure/Reversal w/ Salac.

SCEPTILE
Good against: Roxanne, Wattson, Tate and Liza, Wallace, some of Steven's Pokemon
Bad against: Flannery, Winona, Glacia
Good for: Subseeding, and also a speedy sweeper.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

It really depends on your battling style, and the rest of your team. :)

When Mudkip evolves, it gains a resistance to Electric attacks via Ground typing.

Snow Fairy Sugar
06-06-2006, 10:46 AM
does it?against which all attacks?shock wave could finish it off....

celebi
06-06-2006, 10:47 AM
Swampert can't be hit by any electric attack.Including shock wave.

Snow Fairy Sugar
06-06-2006, 10:49 AM
awww...dont tell me..sonic distortion..or thunderwave are electric attacks you know...

Ultima Shadow

Shock Wave could not finish off Marshtomp because, due to its Ground half, it is immune to Electric attacks. However, Shock Wave could knock out a Mudkip.

Haha!! ROFL!

*Views the "Temporarily Banned" message on May's Post. Can't help but laugh.*

As for Celebi, You should be happy about not Being on D2's n00b list (wait, am I??).

Still, we should be getting back onto topic, eh??

Swampert:
Pros: IMMUNE to Ground (so no, NO electric attacks hit it), Mirror coat, Decent Stats, Excellent Movepool.
Cons: 4x weak to Grass, mediocre variability in Movesets.

Blaziken:
Pros: Excellent physical Sweeper posibility, the ability to use Sky Uppercut.
Cons: TERRIBLE typeset, poor defenses

Sceptile:
Pros: Leaf Blade, Speed, Leech Seed, Special Sweeper abilities.
Cons: Needs work to become good, bad Sp.DEF, which it needs.

eh?
