First, you really need to calm down.
See, I think that this is because during the link battle, you don't gain experience points, right? So, therefore, it seems logical that no effects from the battle will stay either, right? If your Pokemon was paralyzed in the link battle, afterwords, even if you won, I'm pretty sure that your Pokemon would revert back to full health. Maybe it's just something like that. You have to use Sketch in a battle against a trainer in the game or a wild Pokemon, but then again, I've never used Sketch, nor have I caught a Smeargle.
That's my guess.

You can get Mind Reader and Sheer Cold from Articuno.
God, what a cheap strategy.

I'm pretty sure that Kyogre can learn Sheer Cold by level and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald Elite Four leader Glacia's Walrein knows it. Mind Reader is all over the place, but I can't remember where you can get it.
Hope it helps...?
Also, this may need to be locked.

Yeah, well all of you guys suck at spelling Smeargle. Sorry I kind of have a thing for spelling errors, yes i make them too, but....
Anyway, try trading him to R/S, swap records with someone who has pokemon who know the moves you need, then keep trying to sketch the moves when you battle them in their secret base. I think that would work, you get exp and $ from those battles.
