evolving my baby

I'm trying to get my pichu to evolve (in emerald), but i'm having some trouble... it's fainted in battle before and i know that dosen't help at all, but i know that there are those berries that make a pokemon friendly... so i just give it one of those and train somemore or do i give it several? do i just replace the lost stats with ev training and vitaamins? or should i just breed again to get another pichu....

but uh does it take just one of those berries and some leveling up or several?

Make it happy, but it first in your oarty so it goes in first, then INSTANTLY swich it when your first turn starts, enter it in contests, give it nuce berries, give it poitoins and awakenings etc.

do baby pokemon evolve right away when they reach friendship or do they have to reach friendship then level up?

You'll need to level it up once it reaches full happiness.

There's a woman in a house in Verdanturf Town who will tell you how much the first Pokemon in your party likes you. When she says "It seems to be very happy, it obviously likes you a whole lot." then your Pichu will evolve when it gains a level.

but till then if she doesn't say it,you have to keep trying and visiting her again,and again..

you could also give it the soothe bell,always heal it,feed it berries,iron,protein,calcium,zinc,carbos,sp.defens e,and sp.attack.Also never let it faint in battle if you let it faint it won't evolve.

The only Pokemon that I remember evolves from max friendship is Azurill.
