In the first episode ever of pokemon at the end, Ash sees Ho-oh fly by. Some people say that since he is gold color,Ash actually saw a SHINY Ho-oh, and some people say its just the glow to make it look rare beacause at that time the producers were not thinking of making a new Pokemon called Ho-oh. What do you all think?

Yeah me neither. I think it was all gold just to make it look VERY rare.

It wasn't shiny, because at the time, they didn't completely color it with it's oranges and reds. They could have been deciding if that was going to be a Pokemon as well.

I suppose it doesn't help much to say I agree with the rest of them, but I do.

In "real pokemon" there's only ONE Ho-oh.
So it can't possibly be shiny.

But in "real pokemon" there was like a whole bunch of Latio and Latias in the movie. Pokemon changes alot. I don't think it was shiny, but who's to say there isn't one?

That was when they were in Jhoto right? SO by that time the producers had already put shinies in the games of G/S/C

That Ho-oh was only shimmering gold because of the setting sunlight accentuating it's natural glitter .
Silly.

Lets not turn this in to spam. And I don't think it was a shiny since they didn't invent shiny back in the days.

!CeMan has already answered the question. Thus, this topic isn't needed.

The Ho-oh was not shiny it was just glowing to show its rarity

At that time, the producers probably made Ho-oh's appearance completely random in their minds and didn't really think about it. I doubt it was shiny.
And also ShinyGroudon and much more people, it's JOHTO not JHOTO. Where the heck do you come up or think it's Jhoto?

Ash ahs a shiny noctowl and so alot of other shinys. Hmm seems like shinys are easier to spot in the show. :susp:

Ash only has a shiny Noctowl, or did you already mean that? There are other shinies as well, but very rare occassions in the episodes. And do remember in the anime that Pokemon entirely roam the Earth and there are tons of them, except for Ho-oh and sorts. You could see thousands of Swellow flying by or Tailow flying by. Winona probably got lucky and threw a random Pokeball at a random Tailow. She has a shiny Swellow, but that doesn't automatically result in the anime being all that easier finding shinies.
