In my Gold version I have a Shiny Ditto! I was looking for a Venonat when I met it! I was just: "OH MY GOD!" Its a cool blue color.. The good is, that I can breed with ANY Pokes (exept legendaries), and the change of they are shiny is 1/64 or 1/32 - I cant remember.. I think Im lucky :)

Most of them are some that he traded with people, he actually caught about 4 of them. I caught all of mines.

Well, something else that sucks is that I was in Battle Tower and saw a Shiny Xatu and Medichum (SP?) within like 3 mins of eachother. I hated not being able to catch 'em. =/
It'd also suck to see one in the Safari Zone and have it run from you. I'd probably be sicker than I was with the B Tower incadent. :P

Yeah, since Pikachu is only in the Saffari Zone, you can't gaurentee a capture. But, if you're really determined, you could always breed until you get a shiny one. ^_^

If you guys want some tips here some are that worked for me.


Tip 1: Try finding pokemon that are hard capture. Like Altaria in the Sky Pillar. You're trying to find one pokemon but you stumle upon another. That's when I saw my first Sableye.

Tip 2: Try capturing shiny pokemon by using your bike. You can go all around Hoenn in about 30 minutes without flying if you have Mach bike and Surf. That's when I found my shiny Tentacool just racing around the water.

I am also very surprised at your goal. Honestly I highly doubt you will get all the shinies. If you play for the rest of yuor life, you might be able to get 50.

Waaaaaaaay back in my silver version I caught this shiny Abra. I evolved it into this purple and olive Alakazam. The olive colour looked kinda disgusting though.

well, in ruby i only hav a pink crobat, but you would have to see my pokemon silver! there i have the following pokemon in shiny:

In My Silver Version I have 2 shinies! I have the red gyarados, and, when I caught a pikachu i stuck it in the daycare so i could get a pichu. The pikachu had 2 eggs, and the first one was a shiny, GOLDEN PICHU!!!
Also, I caught a red zigzagoon when I was actually looking for a pink poochyeana. The zigzagoon's name is Razzberry!! :happy:

There aren't any red Zigzagoons, there are only dark brown ones (As shinies) and Poochyena cannot come in Pink dude...they come as Golden Poochyenas when shiny XD

I was ev training when it just popped up! :smile: I also attempted for about 20 boxes worth of feebas to hatch a shiny, but failed... and for 50 hours to get a shiny charmander in FR, but failed again... hmm... *looks at number of eggs I hatched* ...out of the 500 eggs (no seriosly I hatched about 500, over 250 of them was when I was trying to get a bagon with 30+ attack ivs and an adamant nature, and the rest was stuff like dratinies, skarmories, chancies, etc... ...right now I'm working on koffings with 30+ def. ivs...) I hatched I didn't get a single shiny... ...question: what decides if a pokemon is shiny or not?

Shininess is a hidden value (Random value, that is) for each pokemon...

No longer depend on IVs, so you can't actually MAKE a shiny, it's just blind luck now.
