Hey, anyone got something for video compression? I mean, I currently have the ability to make mpg files, but those kinda...suck. XD

Anyone got any ideas on a good compression program?

I can't help it if my camera records only mpg files (and only 6 minutes per run!). -.-

Also, I have access to linux too, if that is of any help.

I recommend trying SUPER. It's got the ability to compress to almost every format, and it's totally free. Google it. The download's hard to find, as the site seems like a bad translation or something, but it's on there, and after some hunting you'll get it.

Definitely worth it. I use it to encode for my iPod. Good quality, too, easy to change settings.

Edit: Try starting here: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
