Macho Brace?

Hey, I was on youtube and saw the first half of an orange island episode that had a very powerful poliwrath in it. The episode was that one where ash finally gains the respect of charizard. Wgilst watching, I noticed the poliwrath was wearing a belt of some sort. After the episode was over something came to me. Was the belt the poliwrath wearing the macho brace? It sure looked like it! Was that why it was so darned strong?

I think the Macho Brace was first shown in Episode 8 of the first season (The Path to the Pokemon League). All of AJ's Pokemon are wearing them, and AJ himself calls it a "strength intensifier."

Ah I remember that! The sandshrew that he made swim in a pool! It beat Ash even though his flying pokemon had an advantage I think, lol I was so happy about that.

*Sigh* those were the good ol' days with first generation pokemon, it's awesome that they still use stuff from the old ones to improve the new games. I always pictured the Macho Brace as a just little gold band but what the Sandshrew had was a lot cooler looking.
