hey guys i jusran into my first latios this morning. a few questions...

1. i have a roselia that knows sweet scent can i use this to run into latios?
2. if i use max repel would i still run into latios?
3. if i used a max repel and then used sweet scent would i run into latios?
4. can latios be found in water?

Using alot of max repels is a good way
and tracking him throught your pokedex is a good way too

What I do is like ignore him and then he comes to me.I caught mines near the safari zone.

Okay believe this or not i have a way to catch him in about 15 minutes.
Just buy a lot of max repels then go and get the acro bike. Then go to route 110 and there is a pach of grass on the left. take out the acro bike and activate a max repel. Start hoping around in the grass and in 5-10 minutes you will have found guarnteed to work every time.

i'm totally agree with spartan, just ignore him, n start catching other pokes until it shows up, then let him run (cause u don't wanna tak the risk to kill him), save in any route, n keep restarting ur pokedex registers latios in the same route u r

2. Yes, just make sure you're at Level 39.

Here's some advice that will help you big time latios and latias will always stick south east and north east mostly but so that you know that you'll find it your best chance of actually catching it is on the island beneath the pokemon graveyard and don't stick to a patch of grass keep going slowly.

I know an easy way to find Latios/Latias. Fly to Mauville city. Check your pokedex to see where Latios/as is. There will probably be far away from you. Since they travel from one route to the next when you walk/bike to a new route or city, just run from the route on the left of Mauville to the route on the right of Mauville check your pokedex after doing this a few times to see, if Latios/as has come farely close to where you are. If it is nearby, then just keep moving from the left route to the right route through Mauville, or just run from the left route to Mauville then back to the left route. So in and out if the city until he is where you are. I've done this trick three times, in both of my Ruby, my Sapphire, and my friend's Ruby. It takes me only about two mintues to work.
Oh, if it seems that Latios/as is really far and not coming closer, then try flying to Mauville again, or walk into a house and come out to see if he came closer.

Also if anyone doesn't happen to have the legendary in their pokedex, check if a friend has it so to trade and get him in the pokedex or mix records and battle in the secret base to get Latios/as in the pokedex. If you know no one with Latias/as, then get lots of repels (like many other members have said) and find a route that directly connects to another and ravenously go back and forth searching the grass.

when trying to catch it use a Master Ball, or use a bunch of ultra balls and have golbats or crobats at high lvs and are very fast and use mean loook on it (i did that and it worked, have at least two golbats or crobats.)

A good plan to catch Latios/as would be to have a very strong pokemon who knows False Swipe and a Wobbufet with a level high enough to take damage from the legendary and live for a while. First, find Latios/as using the technique I mentioned earlier or using a technique a different member may have mentioned. Make sure to keep your FAlse Swiper in first position. Right when you see Latios/as, use False Swipe to take Latios/as's HP to 1. Latios/as will probably then run away. If Latios/as doesn't run then quickly switch to Wobbufet to keep him in the battle with Shadow Tag. If the legendary does happen to run away, then simply find Latios/as agian with Wobbufet in your first position. Then just begin hurling ultra balls until you capture it. If you still fail to capture it after many many ultra balls, try throw some timer balls.

The above-strategy with Wobbufet sounds very interesting, never thought of that.

However, the easiest strategy to getting Latios (or reversely, Latias) is very simple, just save the Master Ball you get in the Aqua Hideout (in Emerald) or Magma (in Ruby) near Lilycove, and save it until you can encounter Latios/Latias. Then when you do find it, just throw the master ball and presto, instant Latios/Latias in your box.

Just saying you used the Master Ball, without copied or trading:
I just look in the PokeDex of where it is. (You have to find it first) Then, I move routes and look if it's in my area. I know it's sounds bad, but it worked when I caught my Latias in Route 110 with an Ultra Ball. Woboffuet needed.

Magicarp009, Latias or Latios will run away, you need to start with a pokemon with an ability to Prevent it from running away. Then try Mirror Coat on it. It goes down to Almost red bar health.
