I need a little help with this project.
As you can see I still need names for all of the different regions in the blue "Orange Island" section, & the orange "Orre" section.
Problem is I can't find a readable map for either of these places.
So, I look to you the poke-experts to fill me in on what the names of all the towns, cities, & other major places of each region are, and where they should go.

Well, Orre is upside down based on normal... (At least I think...)
And so, to the left of "Orre" should be Mt. Battle.

You're on the right track, but from other Pokemon maps I've seen, the Orange Islands are below the Johto/Kanto continent. In the anime, Ash goes to the Orange Islands right after visiting Pallet Town again. With that in mind, Orre would probably be out further east.

all listed locations for orre are
2.Gateon Port
3.Agate Village
4. Mt. Battle
5. Pyrate Town
6. Rock Pokespot
7. Oasis Pokespot
8. Cave Pokespot
9. Phenac City
10. Relgam Tower
11. Cipher Key Lair
I know, numbered weirdly, because I took some off from my original list , and was to lazy to edit the numbers :p
I'll try to find the locations of them.

"Upside down" huh? Well, I've never played the game, and I couldn't find any maps. So I just competely made up the landmass.
"To the left"? You mean like... on the west coast, somewhere more inland like the diamond shaped region, or what?

:ermm: Well, thanks but, that's why I sent you a copy of this before I had it all chopped up & screwed down. Now that I've already gotten everything settled it'll be a real pain to move it. Yeah, I've gone too far now, and it's a very fuzzy geography in the first place. It changes everytime they map it. So, I think I'll just continue on unless someone can come up with one hell of a reference map. ...Already seen it Chaos...

Thanks, the locations are what I really need.
But don't leave any towns off, they always have cool names, unlike "Cave Pokespot".

Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and the Orange Islands. (http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v363/CVXFREAK/0940f23e.jpg)
EDIT: oh you have? well okay
Here is proof of where the orange islands are located, the Kanto and Johto Land masses are up above them.
Orange Islands Map (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/aa/Orange_Islands.gif)
That's what we currently know...
Hoenn is Southwest of Johto and Orange the Orange Islands are directly south of the Johto/Kanto Continent.
Things not on the map.
Orre
Sevi Islands*
Shin'ou
Fiore
Where they should be located.
Orre - Southern Hemisphere, and quite large. Possibly larger then Kanto and Johto.
Sevi Islands - East of Kanto, just off-shore.
Shin'ou - Most likely a peninsula to the north of the mountain range seperating Kanto and Johto.
Fiore - Not realy sure, but since it's underpopulated I would guess it's quite far away from everything else, possibly close to orre? near agate village?
*They may be drawn on the map, however they are inside a box and that either means they are so small they had to be sized up or they are outside of the map.

Orange Islands Map (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/aa/Orange_Islands.gif)
Yes, my Orange Islands are loosely based on this map, but the place names are too small to read, so I am still in the dark as to what's what.

I used that map quite a bit too, but I can only read a few japanese characters so even if it was legable, I couldn't read the place names here either.

Well, I did draw an "Orre" that I just made up, because it doesn't seem like it's been mapped yet.
While making this I read a little about Fiore & Shin'ou, but there just doesn't seem to enough info about them yet either.
& "Sevi"... those are just supposed to be a small archipelago right. Just one small chain of islands, sorta like those green islands just west of Goldenrod? Or is it a larger group of islands similar to the enormous Orange complex?

Oh I see what your doing... Risk, eh?
Here is a better map of the orange islands
OI map (http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/5/5a/Orange.jpg)
A good site for this stuff is bulbapedia (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Region).
Anyway, with orre, leave it the way it is, but move it so that the orange islands are there instead.

Your right, it does look like Risk... The map looks incredible, though what are the red circles for?

Fine, I guess I'll switch Orre & Orange around, like you & Neo suggested, but there are bound to be some changes in order to make 'em fit.
The red circles are bases, it's a game like Risk, but not completely like Risk.

Sorta like that?
I still want to reshape Orre a little, and maybe adjust a few of the dotted lines.
I guess I'll look at that list of Orre place names and just place 'em however unless anyone actually knows where they should go.

Yeah, that's way more like it. Nicely done, I like the color shading as well.
Almost looks like a board game actually...

The Sevii Islands are part of the Orange Islands too.
And technically, there's a total of 1000 Islands in the Orange region. But many are small and only inhabited by Pokemon.
EDIT: Here are the main islands

How come ir looks like Hoenn shrank... and I like the repositoning of the board...
@ Lan: I don't think he's going to try to put a thousand little islands on the map...

No, but many of the islands are 1 pixel diameter in scale with the rest of the map. I was just stating a random fact that I remembered.

Good job on that map surely, however I suggest you make Hoeen like 1.2x bigger then how you have it and make orre more wider. Also search up the the third war rp or the thread on Storm Diplomacy in the TMI boards. They should have a good picture of the orre area. (was that one in japanese? I forget.)

Pallet town is missing:ermm:
Surly Professor
08-31-2006, 03:53 AM
Milos The whole map shrank a little, but Hoenn is still in the same proportion it was before.
Ronin: Well, I can only fit so much into the map. I limited each region to 11 sections, which is more than I had originally intented to do. Palet would be a part of the Viridian section of the Kanto region.
Like how Italy is just a part of S.Europe in the Risk board game.
Chaos: Would you mind providing a link to that Storm map?
Orre: wider? Hoenn: x1.2? I'll see what I can do...
I'll hav'ta stretch the margin on the west side a little, Stretch Orre to the west, bring Orre north a tad to make room for more Hoenn, Then stretch Hoenn to the north, south & west a few pixels. Also name Orre.

Well?
I thought 1.1 was big enough for Hoenn, and I like the new Orre for the most part, some of the sections don't look as cool as other regions, but they are balanced.
I looked at Wiki's "Orre" info again, and put it to use, but they still didn't have enough towns so I made up Umber & Copper because I'm sure not gonna call 'em "pokespots".
Does anyone else have anything else to add?

How come there's no Pallet?
and is celadon really placed on the north of Viridian??
Goldenrod is too small...
I think the map is kinda wrong and funny...but its a good job!
Nice!

It's a cool board game, try it sometime.
It's not supposed to be a dead-on accurate map with ever single detail.
It's just an approximated / abbreviated map to use as a board for the world conquest game.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/NinjaLawyer/PokeworldFlat.png
I didn't change it too much at all really, but I think the Orre sections have a much better visual flow now.
And I'll call the map done, if nobody has any more big complaints.

Nope, it's awesome. I wish it could be made for a real life bored game. Also, will you update it to involve the Shinou Region, once we get some sort of map for Shinou?
Hoshika
09-08-2006, 11:14 PM
Once, I found a small picture of Shinou, and it appeared to be a peninsula. So maybe it could be connected to Kanto and Johto...
EDIT: Oh, it IS an island. Oopsies!

Hopefully it gives you an idea, and if you already knew about it, sorry. lol
Anyway, it looks good, except the cities are way too big. For example, Azalea is way too big, in reality its a town and its one of the biggest in your Johto map. Also, the way you divided them with border lines makes them seem more like states.
But hey, you did it, not me. Overall I like it! Nice work. :wink2:
