1. –Storyline-
Trainers have gone missing for the past few years. All the disappearances occurred in the area around Azalea Forest. Rumors buzz that these young people were abducted by Pokemon, but research has denied any connection with Pokémon. The world is shocked at first, but thinks of it as foolish country talk.
Meanwhile, all the missing Trainers have been stuck in limbo for the past 6 years. Suddenly, they find themselves in a dark cave. They use flash to see, but when they do, torches ignite everywhere.
They're now standing on a giant plateau with a staircase leading down. Suddenly, a TV screen slides out of the ground in front of them.
"Welcome, mortals. Welcome to the quest of your lives. I'm your host, but you won't know who I am, until you successfully complete all my wacky objectives. This cave is filled with wild Pokémon, itching to attack you.
It's completely up to you whether you want to team up, or not. Remember, in the end, only three of you can escape from here.
However, for some lucky contestants there might be some extra prices. If you can find the creature of the week, you'll win yourself a bonus point. If you collect 3 bonus points, you can challenge one of your fellow trainers to a dual. If you win, you get to skip a few objectives. If you lose, you'll suffer the marks of my humor. Have fun."
I’ll admit it. It’s a bit on the thin side, but thickening the basic would only spoil the rest of the surprise. Besides, I plan to use the same storyline but with tweaks if the RP proofs to be successful.
2. - The actual RP -
This is a URPG only RP, so you have to be a member of the URPG to take part in this RP.
Everyone who wants to take part in this will and must sign up with the form presented further down. If you are approved, you will be placed in the current week. There will be no back tracking, example: doing something that had to be done last week in the mission statements; more on this later. From here on out, you will embark on your RP venture through the cave to either catch the Pokémon you want or be the best and first RPer to fulfill the bimonthly goal.
The main goal is to have fun and acquire as much Pokémon as you want to, but there is a catch. Nothing comes free in this world, and this RP isn’t an exception to that. In here you will sometimes face unfair challenges and tough objectives. Think twice before actually making a challenge or taking on an objective, because there are penalties involved if you lose or don’t complete a mission. No one’s going to force you to accept anything, but if you want to dive into the adventure, it is highly recommended.
I can only say: read on and sign up.
3. – Rules -
3.1 General RP rules.
Limit the power of your character: You can’t be an almighty person who can see in the future and thus avoid any obstacles in life. This isn’t just going to happen.
Quality post: This isn’t just to keep the thread readable. If you write crappy one sentence posts each time, it’ll take you until kingdom come to get even one catch. Decent description and decent grammar/spelling will be a big help. Use MS Word to help yourself check for length and errors.
Be sure that each post is descriptive, and helps move the plot along. Whenever an RP is in a bind, help it by posting. Also, enable yourself to not be ‘stuck’, and try not to slow down the Role Play, unless otherwise directed. Be sure that each post has a point, and will ultimately better the game.
Smilies and excessive foul language: I don’t hate smilies, but it is advised not to use them in character. If you want to depict a characters feeling use words, even if pictures equal a thousand words. As for cursing and such, well, people tend to swear during bad moments, but keep it to an agreeable minimum. Just slide in a couple of letters in it or use a similar sounding word: ‘phunk’ instead of the ‘f-word’, and ‘gray’ instead of ‘gay’.
Bunnying: You can not take over another RPer’s character. You can take over NPC’s, though these have limitations too. For instance, you can’t RP what an NPC on the other side of the cave is doing, unless it directly affects/effects you. However, bunnying is allowed in some circumstances without consent of the bunny.
3.2 Main rules
Activity: It is recommended to be active and post at least once every 2-3 days. This way, you’ll prevent losing the chance to catch the Pokémon you wanted.
Attitude: You should act responsible and civil to everyone, and also to the people grading your catch. They’ve been chosen for a reason, and not showing the proper manners will result in penalties. Normal URPG rules apply for these situations. If you’ve got a problem with one of the staff members, PM a moderator AND the staff member in question.
Asking: If you want to ask a staff member to either check something in your RP post or something involving the plot and it’s a general interesting question , don’t use the ‘OOC:’ to ask your question, but instead use ‘GQ:’ in bold letters. Thank you.

4.3 What happens next.
If you are accepted, you will be given three (3) additional, randomly chosen Pokémon. So your total amount of Pokémon will be six (6). They are not for keeps; they are RP only. You will also be given 10 RP points to spend on TMs or extra options; more on this later. If you think you’re ready, then you may step into the RP, and attempt to do something. As a side note, new members can challenge already progressed RPers, but it can not be done the other way. We don’t want to lose everyone on the first go.
5. – Missions –
5.1 Weekly missions. - biweekly if activity/interest drops.
The staff will devise weekly missions using the terrain or suddenly teleported down foes. These can range from following a map, given by a staff member, toward a hidden treasure to battling a dangerous Pokemon, which can’t be captured by the way. Doing these missions is completely voluntarily, but worth a great amount of points. Considering that these are weekly, they won’t be that hard to complete. However, these won’t be one-post-completed missions. You’ll have to work for them. Points range from 5-10, depending on amount of good quality posts and originality.
5.2 Monthly missions.
These are missions that last for a month. They are difficult, long, and require reasonable RP skills. You can do a weekly mission during a Monthly one, but you have to side track to complete the weekly ones. Monthly missions are like betraying another member in your team, you have to interact a lot, hence why it is a monthly mission, or defeating three (3) RPers in a RP battle. Points for a successful mission will range from 10 – 25, depending on originality and effectiveness.
5.3 Main mission.
The main mission of this RP is bimonthly or quarterly. This will depend each time, but you can safely assume that it’ll be hard as hell. The goals will be similar to this: Catch three (3) Pokémon, of which one rare. Defeat 5 trainers and complete all the missions for weeks # 1, 2, 4. These are examples. The person who finishes first will get 3 of his RP Pokémon as a prize along with their TM’s; second will get 2 Pokémon with TM’s; third place will receive one of his RP Pokemon without any TM’s.
5.4 Penalties
If you took a weekly or a monthly challenge without completing it thoroughly, you will be fined. These can range from point reduction to permanently stripping away one of your six (6) Pokémon. The severity depends on how badly you messed up. Generally it’ll stay with point reduction and losing one of the Pokémon for a week. Breaking a rule will also be punished like this, or with the general URPG rules.
