View Full Version : A New PE2K Radio Layout?

In the attempt to keep the site fresh and attractive (while I save up to purchase the parts to reconstruct the server computer), I thought it may be appropriate to redo the site's layout (since it does look like I'm not doing anything, though I am). So, what do you all think? I want to do it in flash, which would make it easier to update content (one file fits all!), and would perhaps save on the whole forcing you all to load several pages whereas you could get the entire site pretty much at once.

I know the downsides of Flash, but I also know how nice that Flash animations can look, and considering that Flash works in almost all browsers, we wouldn't need to worry too much about compatibility.

What do you think, before I get too deep into researching and working on a flash-based layout?

On a side note: I got Kenny Show's next episode (I believe it's 11) and I intend on posting soon. This idea has been bugging my mind for a while, so I'll give you all a day or two to post your thoughts.

ll I don't really have problems with flash myself. And if you can make it look all nice and shiny, by all means. :P

I'm pretty sure my computer won't be bugged about Flash. So I say go ahead with it!

I started working on it. I'll upload a beta later today and post a link to it so you can all give me tips on what needs changed. :)

Looks nice, but for some reason, after I clicked Home/News, just to see if it would just reload the front page, but it went blank...

Yeah, for some reason my host has been retarded. It works fine on my computer, but it's not working online. I'll figure it out eventually. ^_^;

I think I may need to do a work-around by encasing an iframe in Flash and images. It would keep it slick-looking, while allowing me the freedom to use HTML and such. Hmmm.

Plan B is now begun!

A quick update on the new layout:

I'm busy. I'm trying VERY hard, but with my podcast, blog, loowa, here and the fact that I have school and work, and on top of that my new freeware Bittorrent tracker (http://www.4lifenet.net), I'm finding it hard to grab time. Episode 11 and 11.5 of Kenny Show will go up soon (I am probably uploading 11 in a few moments, then 11.5 right after) -- I apologize again. Keep PMing me those show episodes and I'll get them up ASAP.
