Dark Dawn (Revived) (One Piece AU RP)

[Dog of Hellsing]

Well, some of you know it, most probably don't, but I've decided to revive my One Piece RP, Dark Dawn. I'm just going to pick up from where we left off, seeing as only me, HM (Hidden_Mist) and maybe one or two other people are going to be doing it. However, if anyone wants to join, by all means, you're more than welcome to. You can read the posts in the original thread here (http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17330). We need a few main chars still, like Usopp, and I would REEEEAAAALLY like someone to play Zoro (Zolo, whatever XD), because I've been stuck with his char for...just about as long as the RP was going lol. Lessee...we need:

Nami
Chopper
Robin (Not so much, but if someone wants her, meh, you can have her)

Since it's an AU (Alternate Universe) RP, you can also be someone else, like...Smoker or Arlong or whatever. Just pick someone! OC's are welcome too. You can find the bio form for them in the original thread.

EDIT: I just realized, I was the last one to say anything, so HM and DT, one of you guys gotta post now. Course, I could always post as Luffy...well, why not? It's gonna be kinda small though. But it can get us back into the RP groove lol.

Luffy's POV

The young pirate woke up some time later, and the first thing he was aware of was how hungry he was. He jumped out of his bed and went to where the bags had been set down, pawing through them and finally finding a few things he wanted. That meant, of course, pretty much the enitre contents of a single bag.

He stood and was making his way back to the bed so he could eat, when he noticed Saysona and Chiso were missing. He scowled and dropped his food on the bed.

"Hey guys, Saysona and Chiso are gone!" he shouted a moment later, already setting into a bag of apple chips.

"Hey guys, Saysona and Chiso are gone!"

Sanji jolted up from his bed when he heard Luffy's voice.

"Are you serious?" he asked looking around quickly only to notice Luffy was right. Becoming frantic, Sanji jumped on Zolo yelling "Saysona and Chiso are gone" over and over again.

OOC: I think I'm going to start doing my posts in the present-tense. Whoo lol.

IC: Luffy sits on the bed and watches as Sanji wakes up at his words.

"Are you serious?" he asks, looking around. After seeing Luffy is telling the truth, he leaps onto Zoro's bed, shouting, "Saysona and Chiso are gone!!!" again and again.

"Should we go look for them?" Luffy cuts in, partly to cut off Sanji's hysterics, and partly because he's a bit worried about them. What if something bad has happened? "I mean, they're probably alright, but maybe they had to go to the bathroom and got attacked or something. We should go look for them." He nods, sticks two giant fistfuls of apple chips into this mouth, and then swallows with seemingly no trouble. He leaps off the bed and heads for the door, getting pumped. "Come on guys, let's go find our new friends!"

He reaches for the door and twists the knob, then shoves the door open. Nothing jumps at him from the shadowy hallway, so he gives the others a thumbs-up and goes out into the hall, looking down one way, then the other. After a moment he shouts, "CHISO!? SAYSONA?!" and then waits for a response, but doesn't get one.

OOC: Yeah, we can't hear him from where we are. But mehehe, we all know Luffy's scatter-brained enough to do something like this.

OOC: Meh, I really need to read the original RP, just to catch up...so, this one'll be kind of short.

Zolo

IC: Zolo jerked awake when Sanji jumped on top of him, yelling "Saysona and Chiso are gone!" again and again.

"OW!" He yelled, "Get the hell offa me!" He shoved the poor cook onto the floor. 'What d'you mean they're gone?!" He looked over to the ladies' beds and noticed that they looked to have been mpty for a while.

"Wonder where they-" he began.

"CHISO?! SAYSONA?!" Luffy interupted from the hallway.

His ears slightly ringing from the intensity of the young boy's voice power, he stuck a finger in his ear in an attempt to stop the ringing. "Luffy! If they're in the bathroom, they probably won't hear you from here! try to use that scatterbrain of yours."

[Dog of Hellsing]

"Luffy! If they're in the bathroom, they probably won't hear you from here! Try to use that scatterbrain of yours," Zoro says, and the young pirate simply gives his older friend a strange look.

"But what if they aren't in the bathrooms? What if something happened to them while we were asleep?" He frowns a little, then grins. "Maybe we oughta go check! You know, just to be sure they're okay!"

Without waiting for an answer, he gives a determined nod and tears out of the room, hollaring, "SAYSONA? CHISO?" at the top of his lungs.

[Shen]

Zolo

"Yeah, but yelling their names at the top of your lungs might draw out more trouble if the girls really are in danger..." The cross Samurai-Pirate said quietly, more to himself than anything.

He scratched behind his head as he got off his bed. That's when he looked down and noticed Sanji was still laying on the floor. "Sanji, are you gonna be a lazy bum nd lay there, or are you gonna get up and help me and Luffy determine where our lady friends went." He said gruffly, putting purposeful emphasis on the word "lady."

Meanwhile, outside a large group of ragged-looking people is roaming aimlessly through the the city, moaning faintly as they shuffle around. Among them are huge wolfish beasts, traveling in small packs and snarling at one another, at times savagely attacking the people around them. Bizzare-looking humanoids hide in buildings, fly through the air, or stalk the streets for food. Long-toothed and pale-skined people mutter among themselves and watch the wolf-beasts attacking others with amusement.

Watching over it all are the two strange-looking humans, who are humans no more. They're sitting on the roof of a little building, enjoying the sounds of the night. A large wolf-beast approaches the building and gives a throaty, echoing howl. Xu smiles, faintly, and nods at the beast.

"You know where they are, where they hide. Flush them out, but do not kill them, and do not bite them. Keep the V-types and Z-types away from them, as their mindless hunger will override everything else they're told. The W-types are of no concern: most of them simply want to stay hidden like the weak cowards they are. You and your brothers and sisters are the only ones we can count on for such a mission.

"Remember, don't bite any of them...unless absolutely necessary. We want them pure, for now, but if any of them resists too much...well, we'll do what we can with them"

The beast growls as it nods it huge head, then turns on a paw and bounds away towards the bathhouse. Its baying cries call together its brethren, until a huge group of at least thirty is tearing across the city to get at their prey...

Luffy, not hearing Zoro's words, comes to a sudden stop when he hears a faint, barely audible noise. It sounds like a dying dog howling its agony to the world. The captain shivers a little, suddenly extremely uncomfortable. He looks around, but sees no immediate danger.

"Hey Zoro, did you hear that?" he calls back to the swordsman, looking back the way he came. "That weird howly noise?"

After a few moments of unnerving silence, he hears it again, and this time it's closer. It's also changed, and somehow sounds much more threatening, more...dangerous. It doesn't take long before a chorus of howls is struck up, and Luffy begins to feel desperate about finding Chiso and Saysona.

Bleah, time to get back into it!

Sanji glared at Zolo from his place on the floor and then jumped up, running after the two guys and thinking about Chiso and Saysona probably being in the bath. He smirks a little, but then comes to a stop when Zolo stands by the door and Luffy asks them if they heard a weird howling noise.

At first Sanji thinks he's going crazy, because he doesn't hear anything. But before he can say so he does hear it, and there are a lot of the things considering how loud the howling is.

"We gotta find Chiso and Saysona quick!"

Saysona sighs as she sits in the hot water next to Chiso, enjoying the warmth of it.

"This is nice, but how has the water stayed hot for so long?" she asks the elf girl, not hearing the howls of the wolf-things coming towards the bath house.

[Dog of Hellsing]

OOC: Bleah lol.

IC: Luffy stares back at Sanji and Zoro, waiting for them to join him as the howling draws closer and closer. After a moment, though, he gets a bit tired and shrugs, turning and running off.

"Catch up when you're ready!" he calls back at them as he tears off to find the woman's bath.

Chiso smiles a little at Saysona as she stretches and sinks a bit lower into the warm, steaming waters of the bath house.

"This bath house is fed from an underground hot spring. There's nothing going to keep the water hot, since it's already kept hot from the warm water the continiously bubbles up from below. It'll be hot for as long as the hot spring lasts."

She sighs softly, leaning her head back and closing her eyes, letting the warm water wash away all of her worries. Soon, she knows they'll have to leave and try to find out what happened here, at least, she will. She wonders if Saysona and Zoro and the others will want to stay and help, or if they'll leave her alone to do this. The thought scares her, and that surprises her. Most times, she'd be glad to be alone, but something about these people makes her feel safe and welcome. She realizes she doesn't want them to go.

"Saysona...? You and the others, are you going to stay here and try to figure out what happened too? I mean, why did you come here in the first place? And Sanji and the others, I wonder why they came?" Her voice is soft, as if she's afraid the question will make Saysona want to leave her. "It's just...after such a long time of being alone, I don't want to stay here by myself if you and the others are going to leave the island soon...."

IC: I sighed as Luffy ran off, and then glanced at Sanji.

"Well, now what?" I asked, eyes narrowing at the sounds of the howls getting closer and closer. "We better go after him and find the others, because I think something bad's about to happen...

Xu smiled a little as he watched the horde of L-Types swarming towards the bath house. It was time to get to business, and soon they could begin their experiements. Then, once they were done with that, they could use the ship Zoro and the others had come in on to leave the island and spread their greatness.

Soon, the giant pack vanishes inside the bath house.

It has begun...

OOC: Nah, I don't mind, TT...heh...DT, TT, we're almost alike...oh, total SPAMmage...sorry...

IC: Zolo

Not waiting for Sanji's response, I Went in pursuit of that rubber dolt. Suddenly, a thought came to me while I ran, and I shook my head.

"I really hope Luffy doesn't go barging into the ladies' bath. That'd bedisastrous, rubber body or not..." I said to myself. It was then that I smelt it, and stopped.

That's a smell I haven't gotten in a while...I'm such a good fighter, I can literally smell danger, if it's big enough...and sure enough, I smelt it. So I pulled out my three swords and continued my pursuit.

Just then, something burst through the wall and grabbed my arm. I swiped my sword at it and was released from a firm grip. Then, looking to my assailant, I alsmost dropped the sword in my mouth.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

OOC: btw, what do L-Types look like?

OOC: Heh, L-Types stand about eight or so feet tall when on all fours. They kind look like tall, extremely furry humans. Except for their faces, which are like blunt muzzles, and the fact that their ears are set farther up on their head. They have tails, in case you're wondering, and claws and fangs lol. Kinda like the werewolves off of Underworld, only furrier XD.

IC: Luffy feels it before he hears it. Danger...

The same second as he thinks it, he hears the crash of something tearing through the wall. Yelping, he whirls to see a wolf-like creature snarling at Zoro as the swordsman shakes the thing off him. But within a heartbeat, it lets loose a cry and claws its way further through the wall, locking its claws around Zoro's upper arm this time.

"Zoro!" Luffy cries, making to run over to help. Before he can, the wolf-beast snarls and yanks on Zoro's arm, trying to pull him through the considerably-sized hole it had made. Its yellow eyes glitter with bloodlust as its claws dig into the swordsman's skin, but it has its orders. They are allowed to eat none, or even bite them unless they absolutely have to.

Meanwhile, there come more sound of crashing and howling as more things tear their way into the bath house, and suddenly the wall behind Luffy seems to explode as one flings itself through the thin wood. He doesn't have a chance to do anything before powerful, coarse-furred arms lock themselves around him, pinning his arms to his sides.

"Let me go!" he shouts angrily, struggling to get free as more things swarm into the hallway...

Chiso hears the sounds and leaps from the water, looking fearful. She looks to Saysona, then without a word flies to where she'd put their clean clothes. She hurriedly pulls them, then shoots Saysona worried glance.

"I'll go see what's going on," she says, and without waiting for Saysona to answer she pulls the door open and steps outside, shutting the door behind her.

The moment she does, she wishes she hadn't. The wolf-beasts have found them and broken in! She sees Zoro in serious danger of being dragged off, Luffy captive of a particularly large one, and Sanji doing his best to stay free while trying to get to the others and help them.

For a moment she doesn't move, overwhelmed by what's going on around her. But then she snaps into action, throwing her hands into the air. Suddenly, the air in the hallway seems to vanish; it's impossible to breathe. Then, it comes back with a vengence, crashing around everyone as it returns. Zoro and the others only feel a mild yet deep-set discomfort as the air returns, but the wolf-beasts fare differenly. The pressure knocks them to the ground and for a split second smothers them. In that instant, organs explode under the strain, and many of the wolf-things lay dead or dying, including the ones holding Zoro and Luffy. The others struggle to regain their wits to them. Chiso sways, then sinks to her knees, exhausted again.

"Not enough time to recover from earlier," she mutters, drawing a hand across her forehead. Sweat beads it and comes away on the back of her hand. Scowling, the elf shakes her head, then forces herself to her feet, though the strain on her is obvious. She looks at the others.

"Is everyone alright?"

Saysona feels something funny in the air, and then suddenly she can't breathe. But in a second she can again, and she feels a wave of discomfort pass over her. Jumping out of the water she hurriedly dries and then dresses, then rushes out of the bathing room to see what's going on.

She stops when she sees dead and stunned wolf-things lying all over. She glances at the others and sighs, since everyone looks fine and not hurt.

"I'm good," Sanji says, probably to something Chiso or one of the others had just asked. He kicks one of the collapsed wolf-things in the side, glaring at it, before turning to face Chiso again. "But are you okay? You look exhausted."

Saysona looks at her friend and sees Sanji is right. Chiso is swaeting a lot and looks ready to fall over.

"Er, what happened?" she asks a moment later, looking around with an embarassed look on her face.

Chiso sighs a little and simply gives Sanji a tired smile.

"I'm fine, really. I just need a moment to rest."

"Er, what happened?" Saysona asks, looking a bit abashed at the question. Chiso faces her.

"The beasts, as you can see, tore their way through into the bath house and found us. They were attacking the others, so I used one of my most powerful magicks to stop them. I killed a lot, but a lot more of them are just stunned, and there are those outside the border of my attack that haven't been affected." She sighs, her eyes full of exhaustion, but also determination. "We must leave here. It's no longer safe, and in these confined spaces, they'll surround us and we won't be able to fight them."

Just as she finishes the sentence, one of the wolf-things behind her stirs and gets to its paws slowly. No one notices it at first, but then Luffy sees the movement and scowls, cocking his head and looking a bit closer. Then he pales and cries out, "Chiso, behind you!"

Turning, Chiso gives a wordless cry of terror as one of the things rears up on its hind legs, having recovered from the attack, and gives a shrill scream of blind fury. It lunged forward before anyone can move, burying its fangs into Chiso's right shoulder. The elf's eyes go wide with pain and fear as she gives a faint moan, which turns into a scream.

As if the sound brings the thing to its senses, it suddenly lets go of Chiso and jumps back, bloody drool dripping from its lips as Chiso falls to the ground, moaning in pain as she clutches at the injured shoulder. Deep, jagged puncture marks, about fifteen of them, mark where the fangs went in, and flashes of bone can be seen. Above her, the wolf thing scoots back a bit more, as if afraid of what it had done, giving faint whines as it licks the blood from its lips and fangs. Around them, the surviving wolf-things begin stirring as well, as those not affected by the spell reach the battlefield and begin to howl madly.

"We have failed..." Chiso moans before passing out, collapsing to the floor in a bloodied heap as the group is once more surrounded by the beasts...

OOC: Oh teh noes! Will Chiso be okay? What will happen to the group? Can they escape the cluthes of these horrorific creatures? Find out in the next episode of One Piece! XD

[Shen]

OOC: Hehehe... *clears throat* And now, the story continues. Now, on a new episode of One Piece!

IC: Zolo

Agh! Damn thing nearly ripped my arm off before Chiso used a wierd power to kill or injure all the werewolf-things. I was just getting the feeling back when one got up and bit into Chiso's shoulder. Screaming, she collapsed. The wolf-thing stepped back, almost timidly, as if scared he hurt her.

"Chiso!" I yelled as I ran to her side. More of the wolves were getting up, and others that were outside the boundary of her magic were joining the fray.

Chiso muttered one sentence: "We have failed..." She passed out in my arms as howls erupted around us, those snarling, ugly things drooling over their catch.

Desperate, I flung Chiso onto my shoulder...dang, is she really that light?...and put a sword in my mouth and another in my right hand. Since I was carrying Chiso, things would be a little more difficult without my third sword.

I slashed at the nearest wolf...thing...and ran forward. "Guys, stay behind me. We've gotta get more room, and we can only get that outside this place! Let's go!" I slashed at another wolf and burst through the wall into the outside chaos.

Luffy watches Zoro throw Chiso over a shoulder, worry for his new friend worming in his gut. That was a lot of blood spilling from those wounds...

"Guys, stay behind me. We've gotta get more room, and we can only get that outside this place! Let's go!" the swordsman suddenly shouts, getting to his feet and slashing at one of the things that gets too close. Luffy nods and follow after his friend, checking to make sure Saysona and Sanji are coming as well.

After a great deal of hacking, punching, kicking, and shooting, they finally get outside, and the normally optimistic young captain feels his spirits plummet. So many...it's like a giant river of writhing fur and claws and fangs and muscle.

"P-put me...down..."

Luffy glances over at where Chiso struggles feebly with Zoro, trying to get down from his grip. Surprised that she's already come to, he hurries to Zoro's side to better hear her weak words. "C-can..get th-through...en-enough energy for...one f-final thing. Get us...a-away..."

Luffy shakes his head, seriously doubting the injured elf can do anything to help them now. Her voice is so weak he can barely hear her, but after a moment she wiggles down off Zoro's shoulder, leaning heavily against him as she turns to face the forest in the distance.

"Root brothers!" she cries out, her voice twisting in pain. "Hear me, please, help us! I beg of you..."

At first it seems she might have gone mad, but suddenly there comes the distant, rumbling sound. Then, the trees begin to sway, though there isn't a wind. Near them, the smaller trees of the island also sway, then suddenly lash out with branch and root, grabbing up scores of the unsuspecting wolf beasts. Screams and howls fill the air, and the remaining mass looks around, their prey temporarially forgotten in the chaos. Chiso collapses against Zoro and turns dull, glazed eyes to him.

"Calling...on th-the... spirits of the....trees has dr-drained me. I'm sorry, I c-can't...do anything else...."

But she doesn't need to. All around them, the trees continue their assault on the wolf beasts, who now turn their attention to the plants in blind, infuriated confusion. Luffy shoots Zoro and the others a look.

"I don't know how long those trees can hold 'em off, so let's get going before they remember we're here!"

XP I can just hear it now, "Run pirates with an elf and ninja! Run!" lol.

"Chiso!" Sanji and Saysona shout when the elf is bit by the wolf thing. Sanji makes his way to them as Zolo puts her on his shoulder. Saysona looks worried, and so does Luffy. The girl was hurt pretty bad.

A few minutes later the group is outside, and there's more of the wolf-things. Sanji gets ready to start fighting, and Saysona cocks her guns again. But before the things can attack them Chiso gets down from Zoro's shoulder.

"Root brothers! Hear me, please, help us! I beg of you..." Chiso cries out, her voice thick with agony. It's obvious the wound on her shoulder hurts a lot more than it looks like it would.

Suddenly, though, the trees start attacking the wolf things! Soon the group is forgotten. Chiso mutters something, but her voice is too soft to be heard.

"I don't know how long those trees can hold 'em off," Luffy says as Chiso leans against Zolo, looking drained, "so let's get going before they remember we're here!"

"For once, I agree with you!" Sanji says as he starts to run. "Let's go!"

[Dog of Hellsing]

Chiso watches as the trees continue to rip into the wolf-beasts, and suddenly she gives a cry of pain, going to her knees as she grasps at her chest.

Death! the trees around her scream. Death and pain!

Chiso gasps as tears flow from her eyes, feeling the trees that fight for her and the others begin to die, feeling the pain as their roots are shredded, branches snapped, and trunks torn into. But still they fight, and the woodsong begins to sing to her, whispering under the suffering of the trees.

Flee, Root Sister, a voice says. We will defend you. Go now.

As the woodsong changes, growing from pained and sorrowful to strong and protective, Chiso forces herself to her feet, grabbing at her throbbing shoulder and nodding.

"Thank you," she whispers, so softly she can't even hear it. Then she turns to Zoro and Luffy. "Let's go..."

OOC: ;_; DT, where are ya? *Cries.* We need Roro-kuhn! And OMG I put "Zoro" in my last post! >< Curse you TT, making me put that! It's Zolo! ZOLO!

IC: Saysona nods and turns, starting to follow after Sanji, who has stopped a few yards away to wait for the others. She shoots Chiso a worried look, because she looks so tired and messed up. She hopes they reach a safe place soon so the elf can rest.

But then, before they can get too far, a big shape with white hair suddenly appears, falling from the air to fall in front of Sanji.

"What the heck?" the cook exclaims as he jumps back, and the figure smiles meanly and reaches for him, making a fist and punching Sanji hard in the gut, sending him flying to the ground.

"Sanji!" Saysona cries and goes to help him, aiming her guns at the weird man and getting ready to fire.

OOC: Whooo, TT said I could do this! *Dances.* Things are bout to get crazy!

OOC: Buwha, my turn.

IC: Chiso turns as Saysona cries out Sanji's name and sees the cook on the ground, not moving. Her blood turns to ice and fear for the young man courses through her.

No, she thinks, terrified. Please, no, don't be dead...

She sees Saysona aim her guns at another man, with odd skin and white hair. She assumes he's the one that attacked Sanji. Behind her, Luffy steps forward, his voice thick with anger and worry for his friend.

"Who are you?" he asks, hands clenching into fists. "What did you do to Sanji?!"

"You ask too many questions," the man replies with a faint, cruel laugh. "You don't need to know any of that. All you need to know is it's time to quit resisting. If you don't come with me, things will get...unpleasant...very quickly."

"Come with you?" Luffy asks, confused. "Why?"

"Again with the questions," the man sighs, and then waves a hand. "It doesn't matter. Are you going to come with me, or am I going to have to get violent?"

[Hidden_Mist]

Saysona glares at the man and shakes her head.

"We aren't going anywhere with you!" she cries, firing her guns. But the man is too quick and dodges the bullets easily. He then goes to stand over Sanji and nudges the injured cook with his foot.

"Then I'll have to let my pets enjoy a nice meal, won't I?" he asks. He waves a hand and from behind him come more of the wolf-things, about fifteen. There are also a few of the pale-skinned people, grinning and baring their fangs at the group. "I'm sure they'd enjoy the hot dinner..."

The wolf-things push each other around, drooling all over as they growl and stare at Sanji. The people stare at him too, and the others, and they have looks of hunger on their faces. It makes Saysona uneasy. She glances at the others, not knowing what to do.

[Shen]

OOC: Sorry for the delay, guys. I've been having little comp time, and even then, I was caught up with ToD: Four Stones. Forgive me! :depress:

Zolo

Chiso was real good with those tree...things, but when Sanji got punched by some guy with long white hair, I was pissed again. Man, why is it that most of the bad guys we face have a real problem trimming their hair?

"I'd like to see them try!" I said in response to the wolf things looking hungrily at us again. I took the best position for my swordplay. There was no way I could get taken off guard like this. It'd taken me a while to perfect this stance, but I finally got it...just in time, it seems.

"You are becoming quite a pain, Mr. Zolo." The white-haired guy said. "It seems my creatures will be having dinner a little early tonight." He motioned with his head, and they attacked.

I moved instantly. The wolves that leapt at me, but I cut them up with a whirlwind. Then, realizing the danger our perverted cook was in, I charged over to Sanji's body and struck the wolves there, mainly going for our antagonist.

"Well, it seems your swords are faster than I thought." That creep merely dodged out of the way, leaping back a couple of meters. "Fine then, this game appears to be worth my time. Lets get ticking!" He rushed forward, and I met him in the middle.

OOC: ...He does have long hair, right? That's how I imagined it, but if it's not, I'll edit my post later. And yes, I did have Zolo call Sanji perverted. That's how I thought Zolo would view him, seeing as how he's always going after Namine, among other women, almost as much as Brock from Pokemon. Almost.

OOC: Yeah, he has long hair. *Gigglesnorts.* Meh, Sanji, Brock, and Miroku should all be brothers lol. Anyways, it's alright, about the delay. It happens to everyone ^^.

IC: Chiso sags to the ground after Zoro rushes over to help defend the prone Sanji from the wolf-beasts surrounding them. She's too weak to stand, and her vision blurs as a dizzy spell comes over her. She pushes her palms to her face, groaning faintly and struggling to stay awake. Her shoulder throbs in pain and it's all she can do to stay concious.

Worried, Luffy goes to stand next to her and kneels down, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Are you alright?" he asks, frowning in concern for his friend. Chiso smiles up at him weakly, the pain and exhaustion clear in her eyes.

"I'll be...fine..." she mutters, her voice soft. "Go...help Zoro...and Sanji..."

She waves tiredly to where the swordsman is fighting with the white-haired man now. The wolves and pale-skinned people are no longer attacking Zoro, but have split into two groups. A few of them stalk where Sanji lies, licking their lips as they get ready to attack. Most of them are coming after Saysona, Chiso, and Luffy. The rubber man narrows his eyes as he nods and stands, pulling his hat down over his eyes as his hands clench into fists.

"Don't worry Chiso, I'll take care of them," he says, his tone devoid of any of its usual cheer and good-nature. The injured, fatigued elf nods as Luffy steps forward. Without warning, he lets loose a volley of lightening fast punches, taking down the beings harassing Sanji. He then turns his attentions to the ones around himself and the others.

Before he can act, a particularly fast and hungrey-looking man darts forward, mouth open, fangs glinting in the moonlight. Giving a cry, Chiso tries desperately to help him, to offer him some kind of aid. The only thing she can manage is a faint gust of wind. However, it does succeed in making the man pause in confusion, and Luffy takes the shot. A moment later, the rest of the creatures and men are down, leaving only the white-haired man Zoro is battling.

Luffy turns, thinking to thank Chiso for the help, when she suddenly falls forward and lets out a scream of agony, writhing on the ground like she's been gripped by a seizure fit. The wound on her shoulder has turned an ugly purple under her bloody, ruined top. Fearing for her, Luffy rushes to her side and drops beside her, not knowing what to do now.

However, he has no time to act. The man grins at Zoro and with speed that should be impossible he tears past the swordsman, completely avoiding any attacks as he charges by. He then comes to a stop by Luffy, sending the youth sprawling with a powerful blow to the back of the head. Luffy lands, stunned, a few feet away as the man kneels by Chiso.

"It would seem one of my pets gave your elven friend here a little love nip," he says, chuckling coldly. "How interesting. The gene was developed only for human use. It will indeed be a treat to see how a non-human reacts to it. Oh, she might even die..." Laughing, he picks up the now-whimpering Chiso and roughly throws her over his shoulder. He turns to face the others, lifting a hand in mock farewell. "If you'f like to join me and my friend for the show, come to the lab." Here he gives Saysona and Zoro knowing looks. "You know where to find us."

And then, without further hesitation, he turns and leaps into the trees. A moment later he's gone, a faint scream echoing back to the others as the cold moon shines down on them...

[Shen]

OOC: Oh, you dog! Zolo won't forgive you for that...well, just because he was fighting him. Now what will happen to us?

IC: Zolo

Our fight raged on as we clashed, my sword to his...hands?! This guy was toying with me! Still, I struck again and again, trying to break his indomitable defences. They're just arms, for God's sake!

Suddenly, as he parried my swords again, he smirked...and dissappeared. I looked around, stunned by his vanishing act. I heard a scream behind me, and groaned in shock.

That damn guy had Chiso over his shoulder, beckoning us to follow before leaping into the trees. I swore and walked over to the others, shamefaced.

"I'm...sorry. He slipped past me before I could react." I said, embarrased and saddened by his kidnapping of Chiso.

After a few moments, Luffy groans softly and sits up, rubbing his head. He then glances around, and when he sees Chiso and the white-haired guy are gone, he turns to face the others. After hearing Zoro apologize, he shakes his head.

"It's not your fault," he says, his voice oddly tight. He goes over to kneel by Sanji, checking on the cook. After a moment he turns to Saysona, then shoots Zoro a look. "Where did he take her?"

Chiso moans softly as she hears voices talking. She's barely concious, and her train of thought has pretty much crashed and burned. The injury on her shoulder is in agony, but she's so out of it all she can manage now are the occasional groans she lets out. Still, certain bits of conversation pierce through her foggy mind.

"...they'll come for sure..."

"We'll make sure....don't get away..."

"Things are finally coming together..."

"...they should be here...won't leave her?"

"...we should prepare...arrive soon..."

Groaning faintly, Chiso feels herself slipping towards the blackness all around her. And finally, she can resist no more as she falls into unconciousness.

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted in a while guys. TT, can you bunny Saysona and Sanji for me for a while? I'm gonna be gone again for a long time and don't want to fall behind or hold you guys up.

IC: Saysona just stares in shock as the guy whacks Luffy to the side, grabs Chiso, and then tells them to join him and his friend if they want to see her again. Then he turns and jumps away. A moment later Zolo apologizes for letting the guy get away, and Luffy tells him it's okay. Then he looks at the the swordsman and her and asks where he took her.

"The lab..." Saysona says softly, then shakes her head. "The only place I can think of is that big building where me and Chiso first met Zolo." She nods her head in his direction. "Other than that, the only building we were in was the bath house. But...how did he know we hadn't gone into any of the other places?"

She falls silent as Sanji groans and twitches, then sits up a moment later. He looks around at the others and sees Chiso and the white-haired guy are gone.

"Hey, what happened? Where'd that guy and Chiso go...?"

"The guy grabbed Chiso and ran off," Saysona answers. Sanji stares at her in shock and she sighs, then looks at the others. "What should we do...?"

OOC: That's fine with me HM, I'll be glad to play Saysona and Sanji, though if DT would rather be Sanji that'd be fine too. ^^ I'll post later, so DT if you wanna post for Zoro afore me that's fine.

"Hey, welcome back from the dead, Sanji." I said to the cook. "I'll tell you what we're gonna do: We're gonna get t'that lab and track down the bastard who took Chiso!" I pulled out two of my swords experimentally; I was ready for a fight again. "If they're not there, we'll just take apart every building until we find them and get her back!" I turned to them and held a sword up.

"Are you with me?"

For a moment none of the others answer. Then they nod, and Luffy stands there for a moment, looking like he's deep in thought. After a second, Sanji stands with a wince and nods at Saysona.

"You remember the way back there?"

The gunner-girl nods as she turns, pulling out her weapons and giving them a quick one-over to make sure they're ready for when she needs them.

"Yeah, I remember. So let's get going and get Chiso back! And we'll show those jerks not to mess with us!"

After reholstering her guns she turns and motions for the others to follow her, then faces forward and runs off for the lab.

Pain. Darkness. Voices, but not able to understand what words they're saying.

Chiso floats in and out of conciousness, moaning faintly as the pain that started in her shoulder now radiates throughout her whole body. It feels like she's been beat with red-hot metal rods for a week nonstop, not to mention her shoulder itself is in a whole new level of agony.

One time, she comes to enough to take stock of her surroundings. She's in some sort od dungeon cell, lying on a cold, hard metal gurney, it feels like. Her arms and legs are strapped down with thick chains attacthed to the sides of whatever she's on.

With a faint groan, the elf tries to call on some kind of magick to try and free herself. However, the effort only succeeds in causing her more pain, and a moment later she blacks out once again.

OOC: Yay, new char time! Meant to do it last time I posted, but I forgot and haven't had time to post till now. And I don't feel like editing my last post lol.

IC: Crimson eyes watch the small group as they prepare to go after the man that had taken the elf-girl. A pale, broad hand reaches up to brush silky black bangs from the blood-red orbs, and elegant dark blue clothes made of silk hug the lean, powerful frame as a light weight, black leather trench coat gently flaps in a soft breeze.

"She has returned," he mutters faintly, placing his other hand against the rough bark of a near-by tree as he drops the other to his side. The tree, surprisingly, responds with a faint rustle, even though the wind has passed by already. He smiles, revealing long, sharp canine teeth - the man is not truly a man...

"It's good to see you again, my friend, but it seems it is not so good a time for you." The man's smile fades, replaced with an odd expression that's a cross between dispassion and worry. After a moment, the man takes a breath and steps out into view, calling out as the only remaining young woman turns and starts to head off.

"I suggest you not go running head-first into the trap that's being laid for you," he calls out as he steps forward. "I believe I may be of some assistance to you, if you'd take a few moments to listen to me."

The young woman, as well as two of the three young men, pause in their doings and turn to face him. The man leans against a tree, which bends its branches toward him in a trusting manner. A cloud scuttles over the moon for a moment, then passes to reveal the man's deathly pale skin. He reaches up with his hands and softly brushes the branches with his fingers, smiling a little again.

"It has been so long since I've stopped to simply be with the trees she introduced me to. So many things have happened since those peaceful days of long ago..." he says, sounding sad. He drops his hands a moment later as the young man with blonde hair steps forward, eyes narrowed in distrust and suspicion.

"Who are you, and what could you want to say to us that'd help us?" he asks, hands in his pockets as he stares at the pale man, who simply shrugs.

"My name is Zareth, and I am an old friend of Chiso's. And unlike you, I know this island inside and out, and also know more about the Higher than any others on this island." Here he smiles wider, revealing his fangs to them all. "Oh, and I happen to be a Vampire, so there are few who'd risk my ire by attacking any of you if you're with me. I doubt any of you could say the same. Now, if you want to save Chiso and not wind up becoming like any of us unfortunates who dwell here, I'd suggest you take a moment to listen to me."

The three friends give one another wary looks, and one of them, the young man with a strawhat, glances at their fourth companion for his opnion.

"Whaddaya think, Zoro? Should we trust him? If he can help us save Chiso..."

[Shen]

Zolo

Luffy asked a difficult question. Desperate times call for desperate measures, but I can't afford to make stupid decisions...I felt like I trusted the new guy a little, but again, stupid decisions bring death...

I thought a little bit, then..."I guess we can trust him. However..." I raised one of my more deadly swords. "If I find any hint that you're leading us into a trap yourself, or are just thinking of turning on us, I'll gut you myself. And don't worry about that immortality thing;" I smirked. "I've killed a couple vamps over the years, and I know what your weak points are!"

OOC: Just in case Zolo didn't kill any vamps, let's pretend he has anyway; we gotta have a fighting chance, but if the vampire is anything like the other...things on the island, we'll need that fighting chance more than anything, okay?

OOC: XD that's cool, he's killed all sorts of other stuff, so why not a vamp or two? Oo lol.

IC: Zareth smiles, this time covering his fangs, and nods once.

"Nothing short of what I would expect." He folds his arms over his chest as he studies the four of them. "The Higher are using Chiso as bait to get the lot of you where they want you, and that's at the lab. Once they've got you, they're going to use you. Experiment with you. Like they did with so many others, trying to perfect the Gene..."

Here Zareth falls silent, jaws grinding. It seems he doesn't want to talk about that particular subject right now. He shakes his head and gives a soft sigh.

"They will not release Chiso, or any of you, even if the tests fail. So it does none of you, Chiso least of all, any good to go running in pell-mell. I know a way to get into the lab that no one else knows, not even the Higher. I can get you in undetected, which is key to pulling this off without anyone else getting hurt. We will move when I say, and we stop and wait when I say. For once we are in the lab, that is the domain of the Higher, and even one such as I will not be able to protect you from their...fellows." He falls still, and finally moves forward, his strides long and confident.

"If you feel you can live with taking orders from me, then follow. If not, you're more than welcome to wait here." Here he stops and turns to face the group, his crimson eyes suddenly blazing. "I will NOT tolerate someone deciding they don't like what I'm saying and putting Chiso into even more danger by acting on their own."

With those words, he turns and heads off again, and with only a moment's hesitation Luffy and the others follow after him.

OOC: O_O I ish teh backies! Teh whoo! Anyways, I hope this RP hasn't died again, now that I'm back and all. And yay, new character! *Adores the vamp-guy.* Anyways, on to posting!

IC: As Saysona follows the vampire guy with the others, she starts to wonder about why he seems in such a hurry to help Chiso. Are they a couple or something? Saysona scowls. She doesn't think they are, because Chiso is so shy and everything, and this guy doesn't seem to be like that at all. Maybe he likes her, then, or something like that.

"At least he ain't trying to kill us," Sanji mutters as he runs with them, wincing every few steps as he holds his stomach.

"How are you doing?" Saysona asks him, and the cook smiles at her a bit.

"I'll live," he says. Saysona just nods and hopes he'll really be okay, since he seems to be in pain still. She's also worried about Chiso, and if the elf is even still alive. She's afraid to see the vamp guy angry, though, and so runs faster so they can reach the lab quicker and hopefully save Chiso.
