Okay, in my recent battle I used sunny day and the ref (Marth) said it only causes fire moves to do 1.25 or 1.5 times damage. I dont remember anymore. I said that fire moves do double damage. In either case, it didnt matter for the outcome of the battle, but I would like to clarify this. And to prove a point I present this page : http://www.upnetwork.net/pvg/games/rs/attacks.shtml

Sunny Day- Increases fire attack damage by 50%, decreases water attack damage by 50%, makes the attack Thunder 50% accurate, makes Solar Beam fire w/o taking an extra turn to charge, and doubles the effectiveness of Moon Light, Morning Sun, and Synthesis. These effects only last for 5 turns.

that's what it does, can't argue it. it is 1.5x the original damage for fire.
