What's the end result?

You can't figure out algebra without the end result, I believe. I have a few friends in pre-al..

I nned help

1.-p+q+2(p+q)-p-q

You're supposed to simplify the equation?

Well try distributing the 2 first.

To distribute you multiply the outside number by each of the inside numbers.

ex. 2(1+3) = 2(1)+2(3), so you do the same thing in your equation only substitute the variables you have in your parenthesis for the 1 and 3 I had in mine.

From there just add and subtract all the remaining variables.

It's really simple once you get used to it, don't worry.

It shouldn't be that hard, but I'll give you what the bases are for each part...

2p - p - p = ?
2q + q - q = *
? + * = Answer

That should make it 99.9% easier...

If you know that, you should be able to solve it yourself.

just distribute 2(p+q) = 2p+2q and combine like terms

I still don't know what is the answer.

I know distributive but I don't know this one.

-p+q+2(p+q)-p-q

-p+q+2p+2q-p-q

2p-p-p+2q+q-q

2q

I can explain if needed, but I hope you can see how to get the answer.
