Whoo! Since everyone doesn't seem to have the news, I managed to get the station working again.

There's been a burning question in the back of my mind, and I've gotta ask it.

What is the future of PE2K Radio looking like?

The reason I ask is, in all honesty, that ever since the station went offline in the first place, it feels as if fewer and fewer people are visiting the site.

Should we keep running the station and keep working at it? Our unique idea is still a good one, and it's now do-able, but it can never be done should support cease for it.

How can we promote PE2K Radio to the masses?

Some stuff for your mind to chew on as I work on getting the playlist together.

Let me know here. :)

The thing is you started the radio idea when it was summer. Now that it is fall and people are in school of course there are going to to be few to little listeners...
Maybe you could make it a holiday season/summer season only thing and in the times it is not in season work on making the whole format of how it gets to listeners, maybe have the ablity it skip tracks rather than it being a ever flowing stream..Just my two cents :)

Seasonal does sound like a good idea to me. I'd like a bit more feedback on that before I go anywhere with it.

The seasonal idea also affects the show makers, such as Kenny, Neo, etc. It'd be more or less up to them. I have been trying to find the time to do all this -- I'm close to finishing the new layout for the station, and it'll be up in a day or two, then I'll have Kenny's Show 11 and 11.5 to put up.

About the skipping tracks... The problem with it being a stream is that it offers little to no interactivity. Radio stations are impersonal in the same way. The only difference between this station and a regular radio station is that there is no paid advertising. =/ Wish I could implement your idea, I think it'd be cool.

Anyone else?

Unfortunately, there are currently no active DJs for the seasonal idea to not work. Seriously, I have no incentive to make new shows myself, knowing that the amount of support I have decreased to an amount that I can just count with 5 digits. This happened with the Twisted Mirror project of mine, sadly.

So you're saying you'd rather me just run PE2K Radio as re-runs in the off-season, and during say, summer and winter breaks you will make new episodes?

If this is the case, it'd make my job easier (all I'd need to do is be sure the site gets updated now and again and that the stream runs successfully).

At the moment, all active episodes of all shows are in the Playlist at one point or another.

I updated the site's future layout at http://pe2kradio.4lifenet.net/beta -- let me know what you think.

I know it's nothing super impressive, but it fits the site much better than the current layout.

Let me know.

Kinda boring-looking, but at least I can see the text now. You should change the colors a bit to match PE2K's color scheme. You know, blue for the red. I don't really like the simplicity of it, though. Not visually appealing at all. Maybe with some better font and less Flash it would be okay. A decent BG would be okay, too. Am I correct in assuming this is still undergoing aesthetic renovation(sp?)?

Well, considering my utter lack of skill in designing (I can put it together however, but I may as well be color blind when it comes to schemes).

I'm looking for something unique. I don't want to rip the PE2K layout or colors. The reason being is that Ryan has yet to exactly embrace the PE2K Radio idea -- therefore, I feel it best to keep it a separate entity, thus a different layout and color scheme. I could change the flash to text easily enough, as all the nifty flash features I had planned on implementing fell through anyhow.

If anyone wants to make me nifty buttons and such, I'm glad to accept them. I'm open to suggestion, and my main desktop is down, so my resources are limited.

Thanks again. =)

I think that would be what we should do. At least considering the fact that I can't headline ANYTHING without it failing (i.e. if Neo/Meowth/anybody actually does a show, then I can kinda latch on there as a side.), as PE2K has proven to me countless times already. So yeah, seasonal would probably be the way to go.

That works for me. That gives me the room to do some different things with the station in off-seasons, but we have to get word out to show creators to set their own show seasons -- like, for example, RocketMeowth may want to make shows year-round, but you, Kenny, might want to do say June to August only. Then Neo might want some other dates, such as October to January to make shows.

If I got an idea of this, I could keep the shows page updated with that, as well as create a schedule calendar of the entire year. Then that way people can be exposed to new shows and music.

Which also brings me to my next question - what are we going to do about the Playlist? I think we need to expand a bit as to how far the music will go. At the moment, we feature strictly Pokemon music. To keep the playlist fresh, we need to add new music. We'll run out of Pokemon music eventually, so why don't we decide now if we should expand into the realm of Game music, anime music, etc?

Anyways, it's still up to the community, but I feel that it'd draw many, many more people to the station if we feature music from other games and animes.

I also started work on a text/graphics-based revamp of the beta. It will look very similar to the current layout, just without the flash.

Edit: Please go take a look at the new layout. Took a bit of work, but I really like the way it turned out. I took your advice, TVTMaster, and used the color scheme from PE2K, but I definitely didn't rip the layout off.

Not completely done, but nearing completion. Let me know if it needs anything.

I didn't see the previous layouts, but it's OK. Honestly I think it was OK before, why are you changing it?

I have the equipment now but not the time to record. In the no-school seasons I'll be happy to finally get some episodes of my show to you, but my thoughts on this are very similar to Flaaffy/Kenny's.

ELMO

That works for me. If you'd like to do seasonal episodes, that's fine. Just like network television: re-runs until the new season comes about. :)

Also, I'm changing it due to the simple fact that I need an easier way to edit the site. At the current, I have to edit around 10-15 files just to add a new page, so this way, it'll work out better for myself, and for you all.

Besides, the current layout shows nothing related to Pokemon. This way, I'm much more free to add whatever wherever whenever. =D

By the way, I've signed up on the site like you asked, but I'm not entirely sure why... =)

Giving you the opportunity to post on the status of your show. =P

Anywho, the site's been finished, and I'm still curious as to what kind of music adventures we should take PE2K Radio on. I intend on adding my own show, the podcast I've been making for the past few weeks, to the lineup. I am curious as to what music we could add, though.

I still vote for video game and/or anime music -- I like game music a lot, and am beginning to enjoy anime music thanks to Kenny's Show. Anyways, if we expand these horizons, it will still be PE2K Radio, run by the community here, but the musical content will be much less geared towards Pokemon. It's truly up to you.

I intend on fetching advertisements for pokemon games for the lineup. Old and new. The new ones can maybe tip people off who've not noticed the new games, and old is for nostalgia.

Any other ideas on to what we can add? I need to add Kenny Show 11 and 11.5, but the PC with the files is down for a little bit.

Anyone know anyone who can craft some banner/button backgrounds for the radio site's dynamic link images? >_>

Anywho, I've got Kenny's vote for PE2K Radio. I'm gonna make a poll in the polls section about it.

Apologies for the bump, but this one's important.

After some downtime, PE2K Radio has been virus scanned and re-launched. The site's running smoothly again and everything is once again in order. I went off on a trip for a few days, which explains the delay.

Sorry for any inconvenience. I'm still looking for MORE MUSIC, more shows, suggestions, comments, ANYTHING! Just hit up my PM box or my e-mail box: TSH4Life@gmail.com.

Edit: It seems I lost a lot of music with the virus. Can anyone help me add more music? I'm now accepting general anime/video game music. I intend on creating blocks for these specific categories (such as, 30 minute blocks of each). Let me know what you think.

I lost 11 (or was it 11.5?), so.. I suck. but it was due to all the viruses and reformats and such. Sorry, Kenny. I hope to get em posted soon. X_x

I'm taking 11.5 off anyway. The ending was buggy and pretty much m00t. At least I'll have rnadom clips here and there. XD
