ive seen the tutorial for i-pod pokemon, but i just use the gig paint brush to blacken the middle of the pokemon, but when i get to the outlines, then i ysed the smallest paint burush, i find it easier that way.

Zoom in and use a pencil tool, not a brush. A brush will make it blurry because it is anti-aliased. Another idea is to use the recolor method, but with only black.

How nice of you,

Instead of saying that, you could help by telling him what exactly makes them so bad.

All I think you need to work on is the wires. I've tried these myself and I find the wires very hard to get right.
