Post why you want it. Be original, I mean this game has already been made so you have to have some reason like: it is for GBA, it has better grafix, the new islands, new pictures, etc...

I want fr/lg because...

I want to fight two-on-two with an Unknown F and an Unknown U: http://www.freewebs.com/adepthelp/unownfu.PNG

I remember the first time I saw articuno. It was at the top of a tower, I was looking out through... very awesome. I agree articuno has been my fav for a long time. I always remember when I was playing, "Now where's that cool bird pokemon..." And I found Moltres first, then Zapdos, and finally Articuno... :dazed: but it was worth it. I actually hope they change a bunch of stuff like the puzzles in caves. I mean I'd like to discover a new Rock Tunnel. I could do it with my eyes closed... or without flash. :wink2:

Since I thinking of playing Crystal again, I would like to play FR/LG, for remembering the good old times, and because has more additions and innovations then the original game.
My first pokemon game, was Pokemon Yellow.

I remember when I first bought a Pokèmon game many years ago. Back then, Pokèmon wasn't nearly as popular as it is today, and we all know that its popularity as been slipping for a few years. Even with this kind of thing happening, I sill continue to enjoy the endless surprises that are being added to the world of Pokèmon.

The first game I ever purchased from the series was Pokèmon Red. I was completely obsessed over it. It showed when I played nonstop for hours on end, just sitting there with the first model of GameBoy. It was black and white, yes, but it didn't bother me at all. I was completely satisfied with the terrible graphics, screeching music, and the time it took just to be able to get on a bicycle, when you could just walk to your destination in the same amount of time.

A while later Pokèmon Yellow showed up. I had owned both Blue and Red by then, and had already somehow destroyed Red. Yellow brought a few new things to the game. It introduced Pokèmon that would actually appear somewhat the right color when played on the Game Boy Color system. Along with that was friendship with the monsters, where Pikachu would actually show feelings toward you depending on how well you treated it. It brough another meaning to play the game. Sprites for the Pokèmon were also dramatically improved but they still weren't exactly the best they could be at the time. I never knew that the craze would go on an further.

The release of Pokèmon Gold and Silver struck me as a complete surprise. I rushed to get it as soon as I could. Gold and Silver brought true color to the world of Pokèmon games. There are almost too many features to explain here. All Pokèmon have genders now, and they play a role, too (BREEDING!). A phone was brought to the game, where trainers could call for rematches. A radio that gave hints to where rare Pokèmon are hiding aided me in growing my collection. Not only that, a whole new world was brought into the picture, Johto! Plus, Kanto was later accessible after the Gym badges in Johto were earned. This added much more playing time to the game, so you wouldn't be bored with nothing to do in your free time except train Pokèmon by yourself (only my sister and one of my cousin's actually played the games) and have nobody to battle with them. To add more meaning to playing th game, shiny Pokèmon became a feature. This was a rare event that gave Pokèmon a higher trading value that didn' mean much except for that they were very collectible. Also, needless to say, a whole new set of Pokèmon was released.

Pokèmon Crystal was just a small upgrade from Gold and Silver. A new side-plot was added where you would have a mission to keep on hot pursuit with Suicune, one of the three legendary creatures. A female character was accessible for all those beautiful chicks that are into the games, too (I'm single, ladies :wink2: ). Small signs showed up at the bottom of the screen when you entered a new area, which came in handy more often than you might remember. Also, my personal favorite, the Pokèmon sprtes where animated! I'm actually surprised that such an awesome feature never continued with the new generation.

Later down the road, the third generation of Pokèmon games was released; Pokèmon Ruby and Sapphire! Over 100 more mosters were created and Houen became the new home for a new legacy. Ruby and Sapphire had simply amazing graphics compared to the previous games. "Music" was no longer annoying dingy sounds that made you want to turn the volume down. Instead, I cranked the volume up as far as it could go, showing off the elegant music that was finally true music. Even though animated sprites were withdrawn from these games, the Pokèmon were so detailed and beautifully drawn that people soon forgot about the animations. This game was so detailed, that even the background of a battle actually had a setting besides the shadow plane  . Additionally, Pokèmon now have personalities that affect how they grow. Certain areas in the game had weather effects that took place in the battles of that area. The central idea of the game is the same as it always was but the storyline was muc different. Your father was a gym leader, which was very interesting to me. It gave our character a good name in Houen. Also, the hero of the game actually had to be a hero by saving the world from Groudon or Kyogre's effects on the climate and from team Aqua or Magma's "evil" intensions; when in the past games there really was no heroism at all. Accesibility to items in your pack at this point in time is much easier than it was in the Red, Blue, and Yellow days. Even though the select feature was introduced in Gold and Silver, I didn't really notice until these games were released. If I had to pick a favorite from the series of games released, it would definitely have to be Ruby or Sapphire. These games brought true beauty to the setting and they seem to be the best that they can possibly get.

Pokèmon has changed significantly since the beginning. Will I purchase Fire Red or Leaf Green? Most definitely, yes! I'd love to go back to the games that started the whole craze of Pokèmon in my world with tons of new features, better graphics, and more pokemon to collect; altogether just the original game redone beautifully with the advanced technology that our world is quickly developing. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Pokèmon gaming world. I hear word about the new generation of Pokèmon. Maybe it will bring a new game world to the soon-to-be-released Game Boy Dual Screen (NEW FEATURES GALORE!). Pokèmon will never EVER get old.

NOTE: When I first started this post I never thought that it would turn into an essay, lol. Now, if only I could do that in school...
